  1. I had pain first couple of days. Then pain when I drank something cold. Now I'm two weeks out and I have no pain swallowing. Try sipping using a baby spoon and see if that helps. I think sometimes our sip initially is just still too much lol. My NUT told me a month before my surgery to practice sipping from a baby spoon or a top from a Water bottle. It was helpful advice. It's like we have to recondition our mind for everything regarding this surgery.

  2. Hi all just wanted to share my success so far. Sleeved on August 18 2015 I'm 60lbs down. Super happy with my decision.

wow! You look amazing! I'm so excited that I downloaded this app and found this thread! I'm seriously thinking about getting the sleeve! I'm actually going to get it, just gotta go to the seminar, get the appointment and pray that my issuance doesn't give me any troubles! Lol

Call your insurance company first and find out what they cover regarding bariatric surgery and you shouldn't have any problems down the line.

I'm two weeks out on Saturday. That first week I felt dizzy too. Would get light headed doing very little. I was wondering how can I get out and walk like this? Didn't hear of anyone else having this problem. Called my bariatric support person and she said it was the low calories. To stay hydrated and rest. This second week, I'm not light headed anymore, but I get tired very easily. I have my two week post op appt tomorrow. I know with increased calories I'll feel better.

  4. Dr. Macik was my surgeon too! I go see him tomorrow for my two weeks post op. He's awesome!

Pre-op is just low carb/high Protein diet and no alcohol. One thing I also like about Dr Macik that a lot of other surgeons don't do, is he have the nurses put a binder on you before you go home. It's really great for the stomach swelling and makes you feel better all around. I had surgery 7a.m. and was in the hospital two nights.

    Best wishes!

  5. I have yet to hear any good reviews about Protein waters; too sweet! I'd rather do regular Water with flavor packets and get Protein from my shakes and food.

I am not pushing protein since I have until 6 months to work my way to it per my doc.

Thanks for letting me know that. Saves me from wasting money.

Yes food and shakes seems to be the most practical and it'll taste so much better. Right now I'm not worried about getting in extra protein or a certain amount either. Reading different posts had me thinking I needed to do more. Started driving me crazy lol. Called my bariatric partner and talked to her which clarified how I was feeling and just went back to working my surgeons plan for me. I mean I did chose him for a reason, so why be concerned what others are doing. I feel better for it

  6. Wow! That's awesome! I don't know when the last time I was 220 anything. I'll probably pass out!

I'm good but ready to get this week over with. There is no reason for anyone to gain any weight back because this is torture . Its not easy. But I have my eyes on the prize. Taking it day by day. I didn't weigh myself the past two days.

  7. Hey Lex,

Me too. I just keep taking in my liquids trying not to think about it and get busy or sleep lol. I can't wait until I can at least have puréed/soft food. Who would've thought?! I'm just trying to get through the weeks until everything goes back to "normal." I have my eyes set on the prize. It'll get better. Just take it one day at a time.
