@@APanda911 Ha, that's so funny! My husband and I were out yesterday and he wanted lunch so we went to Panera. He got a bowl of Soup and a half sandwich, I ate about 5 bites of soup and a couple of bites of chicken out of his sandwich and I was done! He's thrilled to have a cheap date And congrats on your weight loss! I'm losing about a pound or so a day and hoping that continues for a while!
PS grouper cheeks in miso broth sounds like a meal made in heaven...I'm in the Seattle area and I'm going to search out a restaurant that makes something like that!

Ok so I went out to dinner, and it went pretty well! We sat at the bar (no drinks for me boo) and ordered a crab cake app, it was heavenly - super soft, I was able to eat a few bites and my husband chowed down the rest (I think he's loving that I've had this surgery: more food for him lol!)
When we sat down at our table I ordered grouper cheeks in miso broth with bok choy and soba noodles. I was actually pretty full from the crab cake but felt kind of dumb for not ordering anything, so I figured it will be a great lunch tomorrow lol. Picked at it a little bit, it went down fine especially with the broth making it extra moist (didn't try the bok choy, seemed like it might be too fibrous) - anyways the waiter boxed up 99% of my meal and when we got the bill, they had taken my meal off!! The manager goes, "the waiter could tell you didn't like it" hahahaha! I argued and told them it was just fine but they insisted on taking it off the bill! My husband of course was like "THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!" I am still laughing about it. So, now we have another extra bonus, sleever buddies! You never know when you might get a free meal at a restaurant lol.
I weighed tonight and I am at 271 lbs. Total weight lost in 15 days post op: 15 lbs! :-)

I am one of those people whose preop testing saved my life. My echocardiogram found that I have cardiomyopathy. It caught it early and it is reversible. I went on to have my WLS knowing I wouldn't have issues with anesthesia because we sorted out my heart before the surgery.
It's frustrating to have delays but it's all about keeping you safe and healthy. Good luck!

Hi. I have heard many people on here use the term "honeymoon phase" but I'm curious as to what this means. As I understand it, one goes through am initial phase where restriction due to the sleeve makes weight loss easier. But, there comes a time when people experience less restriction which then makes it more difficult? Is this accurate? If not, how do you see it? When does the honeymoon phase typically end?
I'm really thrilled with my sleeve right now, I'm almost six weeks post-op. I still drink 2-3 Protein drinks a day and am eating puréed foods but really don't have much room for much. Im working on being mindful of where my limits are. I've had a few times where I think I ate too fast and felt discomfort. I have little interest at this time in many of the junk foods I used to crave. It was so amazing for me to be able to not have a Krispy Kreme when a co-worker brought them into work. In the past it would have been so difficult. So, I feel like I'm kind of in a honeymoon phase. Does it get harder over time?

I'm of the opinion that people need to weigh the pros and cons of their dietary habits for themselves. I personally plan to eat in moderation in the long-term and not knock anything off my list unless it bothers my stomach or is not congruent with my own health values. My doc eats like a rabbit and has advised never to return to white foods, eg potatoes, chips. Good advise but I'd eventually like to eat a little serving of chips and salsa at some point. I personally don't plan to resume my Diet Coke habit at any point due to my tendency to then not drink enough Water, but that's me knowing my personal limits. Others are different. I think it is highly unlikely that two sips of carbonated beverage is going to wreck your suture line.

I have heard a lot of people that have no problems with carbonation and some that do. If you don't hurt after having a sip or two, it's probably fine. I tend to go with all things in moderation as long as there are no ill effects.

    Nice!
The pureed stage is the one I'm most nervous about and I'm not sure why. Texture is really a big deal for me, for that reason I avoided Jell-o. Jell-o has made me gag before so I'm hoping I can get through the puree phase without gagging too much.

During my preop testing I was discovered to have cardiomyopathy. I feel lucky that because of WLS testing it was caught early and is treatable. I was still able to have WLS, I just had to get the heart issues addressed first. My heart Dr okayed the surgery once he saw enough improvement and he said the surgery would help my heart even more now that I was stable.
I'm sorry you are having heart troubles of your own. Once you address them and get your body as healthy as you can I hope that they will approve your WLS so that you can become even healthier.

I just tried ice cold Water, crushed ice, unflavored Isopure and 4 "true lime" (powered lime no sugars) packets. Very good and not bad for 25g Protein.

I'm supposed to be getting 90g of Protein a day but at 12 days out I'm struggling to get the Protein shakes down. I didn't mind them so much preop but now the flavor is gag inducing and everything else I've tried has been worse. After the first one I feel very full for the rest of the day. I'm only getting 25g a day. I know I need more. I get faint several times a day and my Dr. wants me to eat more to remedy that.
I'm a bit frustrated and hoping it will get easier. On the happy side, I have no problem getting my fluids in and I'm down 14 pounds since the surgery and 39 pounds overall.

Me too. I had a soft scrambled egg today and a spoonful of hummus. Both went down fine, although I realized my new stomach only holds 3/4 of one egg. Weird thing is I find it much easier to drink Water now that I've had "food". I've gotten a lot more Water in today. And the egg and hummus improved my mood considerably.

I'm dabbling in puréed food a few days early. I tried a little bit of hummus, but no chips, and mashed up a hard boiled egg. So far so good. It's been Almost five weeks since I had food between the liquid pre-op and post-op. I just felt so very weak. I'm ready to chew!

The next person that tells me to start eating sweet potatoes I am going to punch in the face.
I don't have people comment on my surgery, but they comment on my low carbing all the time and are always trying to force "good" carbs on me.
