They make a liquid hydrocodone, but your doctor has to prescribe it

Lap-band is becoming a less and less popular option. The rate of late complications and revisions is very high and getting higher as more people are further out and experiencing slippage, erosion, and other late complications requiring revision.
For me the choice was between bypass and sleeve and it was an easy one. Here are my reasons for not choosing bypass:
I had a low enough BMI that I didn't feel such a "drastic" option was necessary. I hated the idea of my intestines being rerouted. The more joins in the intestines, the more opportunity for leaks. I really hated the idea of the "old" part of my stomach being left in my body where it might develop ulcers or cancer and be unaccessible with a normal endoscopy. I didn't like the idea of malabsorption. While it makes the weight loss go more quickly, weight LOSS is a tiny fraction of the journey. A WLS patient spends the VAST majority of their journey in maintenance. Why should I risk Vitamin deficiencies for the rest of my life just to reach goal a couple months quicker? I didn't like the idea of dumping. Yes, it might act as a deterrent for eating sweets, but I wanted to be able to eat sweets once in a while still. Plus, it would be silly to RELY on it, since not every bypass patient experiences it. I wanted to retain the use of my pyloric valve. It helps hold food in the stomach longer and the idea of my pyloric valve still being inside me, attached to my "old" stomach and opening and closing based on signals from my "new" stomach honestly weirded me out. I was self-pay and sleeve was simply cheaper.

Does anyone have a picture of some of their pureed food, so I can get an idea of the consistency?

I think Iam doing it all wrong. Iam pureeing my food, but, it comes out like a milkshake. Totally gross. What consistancy should I be pureeing my food? Can it have little chunks in it?If someone could tell me, I would greatly appriciate it.

I blend my food as well, but this was an approved puree recipe on Pinterest. Here are some others. I love to cook, so I needed options.

After being on liquids since July 7th I had my first puree meal. I've been waiting for this day. My stomach is talking to me, but all went down well and I didn't have any complications. I could only eat about 4 baby spoonfuls. This pyrex will last me forever!

I took milk of magnesia once. Then incorporated Probiotics daily. Been regular since. Also, ya got to make sure you're getting your liquids in too. I know it's hard, but it sure does help.

Hello! I had my procedure on 6/12. Currently I am in the puréed phase. I think my biggest obstacle has been the fact I am tired a lot of the time. My Dr said it will probably last a few more weeks. It has been nice to have some texture in my food. I suggest homemade refried Beans for sure. I just cooked pinto beans in the crockpot. Puréed them in the food processor and added a little enchilada sauce and reduced fat cheese. Baked butternut squash puréed with garlic and Greek yogurt cream cheese was nice too. Wishing everyone a lot of success!

I had surgery on Tuesday. I left the hospital Friday morning. The reason they would not let me go was the lack of holding any liquids down. He let me go home with the hopes it would motivate me. It has not I am still struggling to drink Water or anything else. I currently am at 25 oz of water and like 3 oz of shake or something else. I have horrible pains. Its a combo of horrible gas(sorry) and acid reflux. These to things make me not want anything to drink. As far as broth and Jello goes, the minute it is in in come back. I have already talked to the doctor he says its normal to have acid reflux but nothing on how to get comfortable with this process. I am so regretting what I have done. He also created this indention where her pulled my stomach out of. Does anyone else have that?

Was sleeved today (this morning) and can't wait to start feeling better. I haven't been able to start sipping Water yet because I have been soooooo nauseas all day. I hope that goes away soon. I keep dry heaving which is killing my stomach, thankfully there is nothing there
Other than that, looks like all went well. Was up and walking 2 hours post surgery.
    Anyone else have horrible nausea?
