I'm 5 weeks post op an can relate to drinking the protien shakes in this hot weather. Last week I put my premier vanilla shake in the freezer because I needed it to be super cold. Well, of course as the day progressed I forgot I had left it in the freezer. Took it out and it was frozen. So I decided to cut the pouch open to defrost it in the microwave. To my surprise, the shake froze to the same consistency as ice cream! So now I have ice cream protien treats every day.

Ley reacted to provenzee in I'm wondering if my sleeve is small enough?
A question like this is most commonly going to be responded with things like: "OMG YOU ATE pizza AT 12 DAYS WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO HURT YOURSELF AND NOT FOLLOWING THE SURGEONS GUIDELINES".

I think that answer is overdone on questions like this, and does not answer the initial question the poster asked. The question was not "Did I break my surgeon's rules?" or "Should I be eating pizza at 12 days post op?" The question the poster asked was "Is my sleeve small enough".

Everyone knows eating pizza 12 days post op probably is not a good idea - but as I have mentioned over and over again on this website, every one of us has a food addiction or we wouldn't need surgery. She did not eat the pizza to personally offend those of you who followed every rule down to the very last crumb, nor did she eat the pizza with intent to hurt herself.

My response to the initial question is to not focus on how much you CAN eat and weigh out what you should be eating. Get a good food scale, and probably try making sure what you're eating is about 4 ounces. I always thought I could eat more than others with my sleeve, but my restriction has been about the same since I was a month out. I am 5 months out right now, and about a month ago I tried a slice of pizza. I ate everything but the crust, and the toppings off of another. I was FULL.

Think of it this way, though - before surgery you probably could have eaten 5 slices or more (at least I know I could have). One slice is not much. Just be careful with introducing carbs and foods like that into your diet so early. They say carbs are "slider foods" and pizza would probably be easier to eat than something like grilled chicken which is Protein dense.

Order an appetizer as the meal. Soup is good too. Even an entree and take most of it home. My son will always eat my leftovers.
I hve told a few ppl at work. Since the doctor found a huge hernia n removed it, i say that i hve stomach problems and cannot eat most stuff anymore for now.

    10 years ago, I wore size 22-24.
Summer has arrived in TN (where it will last at least until Thanksgiving), and today I bought shorts in size 2. First I tried on size 4 and was puzzled to find them a little...loose...what, loose?!?! Then I tried on size 2, and they fit perfectly.
I've been thrilled with every pound lost, every inch lost, every size lost during my WLS journey, but never, ever did I dream I'd wear a size 2.

It's around 90 degrees outside, in the shade. In a closed car in the sun, it's a death sentence.
Today a staff member came running into my office and said "call 911! Someone is passed out in their car". I grabbed my cell phone and ran outside. I saw a van, engine off, windows rolled up and doors closed, and a woman slumped over in the back seat.
I yanked open the car door and the woman moved a little. It was one of our patients. I ordered one of the staff to go get our wheelchair, and I quickly got her inside, and covered her with cool wet towels, while someone got the doctor. She was not entirely coherent.
During our questioning of her, it came out that she was severely depressed, bad situation at work, bad situation with husband. She couldn't explain what she was doing in the back seat of her van with the engine off. All she could tell us was that she came there because "it was a safe place."
Before she left in an ambulance, I got her to promise that next time she needed a safe place, she would come into the building. Come sit in my office, as long as necessary. I'm not entirely convinced she was not trying to end her suffering.
Any problems I'm dealing with right now are miniscule compared to what this person is dealing with.
I'm reminded to be grateful. And I am.

My wonderful bed has clean sheets, tucked in snugly, and the blankets are all in place and smooth. Then my husband gets in and kicks around to loosen the sheets so he doesn't feel so confined.

There are alternatives for bariatric recipes. You can use spaghetti squash to replace Pasta.
    Sweet Italian turkey sausage.

This is a recipe I tried.
Peel and sliced egg plant. Dip in egg wash and coat with garlic Parmesan cheese. Bake until golden brown
coat a cupcake pan with cooking spray
    First layer - spaghetti sauce
    2nd layer- Eggplant Parmesan
    3rd layer - spaghetti sauce
4th layer - sweet Italian ground sausage -
    Top with mozzarella cheese.< /p>

Six years ago I made the decision to have bariatrics surgery. Well the psychological eval denied my surgery. I decided to give it one more try 9 months ago. Thankfully, this time I was accepted.
With my medical difficulties I am so relieved. My vertical sleeve surgery is on 6/14. I have begun my liquid diet and I am ready.

Good for you! When was your surgery? Mine was April 20th. I was 177 but am only 5'00". I was a revision from a band to a sleeve and it's much better. I'm down about 20 lbs and am thrilled. Hard to see some other posts where people have lost 30!pounds in a month but I've learned through this site not to compare. Plus I'm thrilled for each and every person who is losing- it's so motivating and genuinely makes me smile. I love this forum. :)
