The recent way I did them, is put them in a large Tupper with ice. shake, shake, shake and the semi-busted shells will slide right off. I was amazed how fast it worked!

Below is a copy and paste from another thread...

But it fits the original request by @@OKCPirate

    Hopefully it works...

I know it's been a while but I've just worked out how to post properly...

    Anyway, here it is...

I'm not sure whether I explained it previously so I'll do so again...

It's the sheet music to a section of Sinatra's 'My Way' which means something to me...

It's the bit where the lyrics are as follows...

    "For what is a man

    What has he got

    If not himself

    Then he has naught

    He'll say the things

    He truly feels

    And not the words

    Of one who kneels"

And the next one will look like this...

As stated, it's my starting weight (255kgs) in Roman numerals, with "Never again..." in Latin...

It's going on my left pec/chest...

    That'll take some shaving!!!!

Nothing more planned at this stage...

But I'm pretty sure there will be...

My RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery My name is Carla! I live in NJ I'm a 35 year old married mother of two. My weight loss journey started in March 2008. My son was one year old and I decided I no longer wanted to live my 300lb unhealthy lifestyle! I wanted to live to be able to see my Son grow and I wanted to be able to play with him and not watch from the side lines. I had my gastric bypass surgery Sept 15 2008. After the usual
Two days in the hospital I was feeling good and diacharged. Only to return to the hospital at 4am in severe pain. I had a leak. Had to do another surgery and recovery was very painful I stayed in the hospital for three weeks. With that being said I would do it all over again. I reached my goal weight of 160lbs within the year. I maintained this weight for 5 years I was a stay at home Mom back then and I worked out full time. 6 or 7 days a week 1 1/2 -2 hours a day! I was determined to make all of my pain purpose full. But as life happened I creeped up to 180lbs and plateau there for months until I got pregnant with my daughter. My weight went up to 230lbs on my date of delivery. With some light exercise, ppd, and anxiety my weight toggled between. 215and 230 until one morning I woke up and the scale said 240! I almost died. I did not come So far to just become morbidly obese again. So on June 1 2016 I began hitting the gym hard again! It's not easy working full time. Caring for my 8year old and 2 year old. And still finding the energy to work out like I used to. But I am motivated to get my old self back. So I have been drinking 2 meals and eating one meal daily for the past week. I have my restriction back! And I'm ready to reach my goals!

I agree with Babbs. I let myself keep losing till I got to the point I was feeling a little too thin. I actually started upping calories in the form of more fruit, fat and whole grains when I hit my personal goal, but still dropped another 10 pounds. It was just a matter of continuing to increase calories until I reached a balance and quit losing. I'm glad to have that extra bounce, but wouldn't want to go any lower.
But on the flip side, I've stayed here for so long (over 1 1/2 years) that I now consider this my goal weight. If I went back up to my original goal I would have to kick my own ass. Not that it wouldn't be a perfectly fine, healthy weight, but I'd have to buy all new pants.

I feel getting into the maintenance stage was the hardest thing for me to do. My head said if you stop losing you will gain. February 2015 I hit and surpassed my stretch goal. I am 5'9 and weigh 124 pounds. I was scared to eat or add anything to my diet. I still struggle with it every day. My hunger has returned 10 fold so I have to make very careful choices. Or I could be back in the same boat as when I started this journey.

Thanks all of the replies. I will just continue the course and see where my body decides it wants to go. I do want a bounce range to stay within my stretch goal, so that I have a little play room for vacations and holidays. It has been an incredible journey so far. Don't regret my surgery at all. Really enjoying this new life that I have been handed!

I am not a veteran or near maintenance, but I just wanted to say congratulations! It must be so exciting to be in the last leg before maintenance.
I was going to suggest that you find a NUT to talk about a good maintenance food plan. I am sure there are some folks here who can give you some help.

Ok, so I am 10 months out from my gastric sleeve surgery. I am 5 foot 6 and currently weight 149lb. I am 4lb away from my stretch goal. I am still losing about 1/2 lb per week. I consistently get 70-80 grams of Protein in. I keep my carbs around 50 grams. I drink 70-80 oz of Water per day. I eat around 1,200 calories per day. I also get in around 10,000 steps per day with strength training 3 days per week. My question for the veterans is should I start moving towards maintenance yet or wait until I get to my stretch goal? If maintenance is in my near future, what should I do? I was self pay, so don't have any great resources such as a nutritionist. I also recently had all of my labs done. No issues there. Everything in the high end of normal range.

    Good deal.
I noticed some calf pain the first two days I was him from the hospital. It quickly passed.
I have no idea what it was.....I'm thinking that it was from dehydration once I returned home. Water intake was insufficient the first 24hrs I was home ????

100 ounces of fluids per day seems on the high side unless you work outdoors in a hot climate or perform quite a bit of physical labor or exercise. This is definitely something I would double check.
Fluids are important because as your fat cells dissolve they release hormones and chemicals stored within and these are flushed through your kidneys and then your urine. So you need Water or other fluids to flush these away.
The most important elements after surgery are meeting your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your stored fat is being converted into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight. food is secondary.
In meeting your Fluid daily requirements remember everything counts. This includes the Water you swallow to drink your Vitamins. The water or milk in your Protein shakes. Decaf tea or coffee. The water in Soups. So it is generally not difficult to meet your minimum requirement. But again 100 ounces is a little on the high side.
But you do need to meet your Protein requirements. I recommend that you focus on this one first. Your protein requirement is satisfied by the protein that you eat in meals combined with the protein from supplements such as Protein Shakes. At 4 weeks post op, your meal volume is minuscule, so you will get very little protein from your meals. In the early stages I drank 3 protein shakes a day but as my meal volume increased I was able to reduce this number.
If you are talking foamies, you are probably talking about dumping.

I don't think anyone at 4 weeks out can get in all the liquid and Protein. I'm surprised by the 100 oz of liquid--usually it's 64 oz. Did someone tell you to drink/eat that much at this stage? The numbers you gave are more for when you are on solid food a while and it takes some time to get to that level. I've never had the foamies but others have and can speak to it. Have you talked with your surgeon? You might want to do that (or the nurse or nut).
Best of luck. And pay attention to your body.

Look up Jeremy Clarkson rocket launcher Porsche on YouTube. My husband and I discuss the imminent need for this technology on the regular. I can't stand people who don't take constructive criticism or assistance well, and who can't ever be wrong. I'm in training at work and one of my co trainees is ALWAYS right and ALWAYS has to talk over the trainer and make a big deal about how it's not her fault it's the system etc. even though she consistently makes the same mistakes after they've been addressed and nobody else has issues. I was her trainer previously for a couple of specialties and I just wanted to strangle her. 3 more weeks of sharing a classroom with her

So, I am on Day 2 of liquid diet and I agree there are lots of diets that are tailored to the individual, the surgery, and the physician preferences. I am using 4 shakes and 2 bars along w/one banana and lots of liquids. I have option of up to 3 jello/pops, sugar free.
It is not great, but I think because i was weaning myself from caffeine slowly, at least bringing it down a lot over the last few months, I have not (yet at least) had headaches, and I have not had low energy. In fact, I feel full and like i am constantly drinking fluids and going to restroom.
I would say the hardest part was being home where there is more food around unlike at work, and TV (food is everywhere!).
It has helped to jump over to the post-op discussions, or the before/after photos and articles. The pre-op diet is important, and I went through many months of classes and health care appointments to get cleared, I can't mess up these last two weeks!
Plus, on bright side, this is better than the immediate post-surgery 1st week, right!?
