    I had my first band 5 years ago and it snapped after 6 weeks. I then had it replaced 3 weeks later and now this one is leaking. I have had nothing but problems with it and finally am having it removed on the 2nd of July and having a gastric sleeve on the same day.     Hi there! I had my band for 6 years before it broke. I was upset but my doctor assured me it was no problem- he would remove the band and create a sleeve. His did it in one procedure and I love the sleeve. I had a super quick recovery and have more energy and enthusiasm than I have had in years. If you have any specific questions just ask!     Hi all, I have a gastric band and have had it for 5 years. This is the second band I've had as the first one broke. This one is now also leaking so I am due to have a gastric sleeve instead.
