I have more problems with my pouch in the morning. It's like a raisin before I get it going again. Even Water hurts.
I made my first scrambled egg this morning. The first tiny bits went down like a rock and the unpleasant feeling started... 15 min later I'm eating my cold scramble without any problems!
    Try and try again!

He's adding up ALL that could possibly go wrong to get a big number--a big number to shock you. Which isn't proving his point. I'd throw back some numbers totaling 100% of the risks of staying obese. You can have complications coloring your hair (allergic reaction), eating too much cheese (constipation) and listening to too much Nickelback (headaches and regret).
Ok, so I made the last one up.

The fact there's a few people who said this was a bad idea because it wouldn't last. I told them flat out that if I get 4 - 5 years of normalcy then it will be well worth the time. That's four or five years I won't have if I do nothing or change nothing and if it was so easy I would have done it a long time ago. Sent from my LGUS991 using the BariatricPal App

But did you have any effects after surgery? I had the sleeve 3 weeks ago and I still can't find a drink that I can hold down or like.

okiegirl1980 reacted to theantichick in Im craving Natural orange juice
A lot of times physical cravings are really about nutrient deficiencies. Orange juice is high in potassium and Vitamin C. I'd suspect potassium before C because it takes longer for a C deficiency to cause a physical problem. And if you're cutting carbs, you're missing a lot of foods with potassium in them like potatoes. Try drinking something with electrolytes in it like sugar-free Gatorade or even Smart Water (though it doesn't have as much in it as a Gatorade).

My nutritionist recommended GENEPRO, so I bought a can. Then I started reading about it. The serving size is 15 grams, but they claim 30 grams of Protein is contained in that 15 gram serving. There is also an asterisk or two next to that.
Watching their promotional video is like science fiction. They are claiming to shrink molecules down to smaller sizes so they can get all 30 grams in. We have a saying out in the country about trying to fit two pounds of poop into a one pound bag.
I will not be buying it again. I have been drinking various flavors of Gold Standard. Now that I am back to food, I am eating meat with a side of meat, and have cut way back on the shakes.

The only things I used in the hospital were underwear/pajamas, toothbrush and hairbrush, chapstick, and biotene mouth spray. My mouth was so dry and the chapstick and mouth spray were life savers. Everything else that went with me stayed in my bag.

    OH!
Don't know if you all know about them, but the thing I found to help the gas pain that worked the best are Gas-X strips that dissolve on the tongue. I found mine at CVS near the antacids, but have seen them at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc.

Syntrax nectar. 23 grams of Protein. Great flavors. More like juice than milkshake . I can't do the milky ones either but these are good.

I've become fond of Premier Protein caramel shake in my coffee - about an ounce or so makes a nice latte-like drink. when I want milky hot tea, I use the vanilla premier.

    Hello,
Yes, I am having my sleeve surgery on Monday (Nov 14th).
I have been sticking to the pre-op diet, taking my Vitamins, drinking my Protein shakes daily. I didn't find that the diet was difficult at all.
Shakes: Premier Protein shake which has about 22g of Protein per 8oz. serving. Have them in vanilla and chocolate. Not bad at all, but before I run out, I might order a different brand.
Also ordered some unjury Protein Powder and tried it in place of one of the shakes. Mixed it in 8 oz. of chicken broth. It was real good.
Just found this place and I think it is so cool.... and had fun going through the store.... can't wait to try a few items I saw there.
    2 more days! Woohoo!
Not feeling nervous at all... just excited. I am so ready for this!
I wish all of you November sleeve patients the best! Stay positive.
