Yaya B reacted to Malin in The Statistics are not in our favor? (According to my worried Dad)
He's adding up ALL that could possibly go wrong to get a big number--a big number to shock you. Which isn't proving his point. I'd throw back some numbers totaling 100% of the risks of staying obese. You can have complications coloring your hair (allergic reaction), eating too much cheese (constipation) and listening to too much Nickelback (headaches and regret).
Ok, so I made the last one up.

Yaya B got a reaction from MsShortyDee in Returning to work 1 week after surgery?
I'm a nurse as well. I ended up taking 4 weeks off from work. I too, thought I would return in 1 week but my body showed me otherwise. Good luck with everything.

Yaya B reacted to ProudGrammy in Not feeling full
@@Yaya B
Water, broth, crystal light
you will never have that "full" feeling from any liquids
yogurt is a "slider" food
you eat it and it goes down smoothly/easily
most OP don't feel full from that
popcorn, junk foods are other sliders
eating sliders will never give you that full feeling
eat them/snack on them alllll the time
can/wlll "help" you gain weight!!!
eeeek
if this happens - the sleeve will NOT fail you
YOU will have failed the sleeve
you are one month post op
don't worry now
you'll have plenty of time in the future to worry
i know you can learn and do things right
i have faith in you
good luck bud
eyes on the prize

Yaya B reacted to Dub in Stretching stomach in the beginning
I think my meal size those first three months was 1/4 cup.
I ate much slower then than I do now.
I could feel the fullness coming on as I finished the 1/4 cup of food. It was not a pleasant feeling and one that I avoided.
Your stomach has a lot of healing left to do and there is inflammation. You really do need to proceed carefully and stick with soft flaky & moist Proteins.< /p>
Your bariatric practice has done you a disservice by not making the guidelines very clear.....before this point. I'd raise a little hell with them on that next appointment.

Yaya B reacted to Monie717 in 6 month update.
Surgery day April 4/16. Down 78.2 pounds/66.25 inches! Off BP meds! I feel great! Best thing I ever did. I would do it again in a heartbeat!! Here's before and after pics. My arms are moving at the same speed as the rest of me and I hate it. My arms suck. Sorry no makeup or contacts in the after. I look like a troll....

Yaya B reacted to Zoes.Realm in 6 months post op
Well I just passed my 6 months out from my WLS. I almost can't believe that it's already been this long. I've lost 82 lbs in that time frame. I am still having trouble seeing the new smaller me. Is anyone else having this issue as well? All those around me, tell me all of the time that I am that I am getting "skinny". Each time I blow it off and say whatever. I am afraid I will never see myself at the weight that others see me. I want to feel like everyone see's me.
For those that are further out, have you had this problem and if so has it gotten better along the way? Anything I can do to help change my mind's eye to see my true self?
Also, here are my current journey pictures.
Thanks everyone

Yaya B got a reaction from Pescador in When does this get better
I'm having the same problem. I'm still in quite a bit of pain. I'm 9 days post op and I thought by now I'd feel much better. I'm at my follow up appt so I'll discuss this with the Dr. On a good note, I lost 8 lbs. Don't know if that's good or bad tho...feel better.

Yaya B reacted to sherryjolene in 4 days post op and feel great.
I am 4 days post op being sleeved and I feel great! I have some incisional pain discomfort but not too bad. I have not had any nausea, vomiting or reflux. I have had no problem tolerating my fluids, even my Protein drinks. I feel like I could eat regular food, although I won't because I know my stomach is healing. I almost feel like I didn't even have the surgery except I don't get hungry, which is great. I am down 10 lbs from my pre op stage till now. I see so many posts with people with issues post op. Is it normal to feel this good so soon?

I was sleeved 9/12/16. So far I'm managing to keep everything down. My only problem is that I'm still in quite a bit of pain. Not too sure if that's normal or not but I do know that it's annoying.
