f**king freezing
Do you mind if I ask what kind of work you do? My husband said he would be interested in WLS but he worries about work. He is in industrial maintenance. He could take off the time for surgery, but he worries about going back to work. There is no such thing as light duty for his job. Sorry for hijacking this thread, but when you mentioned boots, it made me think about this... carry on. Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App I work for a home oxygen and respiratory company. Normally I'm 33/34/33 field/office/warehouse but lately I'm 75 field due to being short handed.

I have sorel type hard toe boots for work. It has barely hit the 40's and those aren't cutting it. I even bought thermal socks!

What do you eat when you're sick?
Chicken noodle soup but don't eat the noodles. I do however give the noodles to my 4 legged garbage disposal that looks an awful lot like a chocolate lab.

My First Real Test, 6 Weeks Post-Op
I had to travel for work this week. I had several questions about why I was eating and drinking the way that I was. I was semi open. I showed them a picture of me from last September in Hawaii and explained that I've changed my eating habits and lost over 50 pounds. I explained that I had a stomach surgery where I had an ulcer removed (true) and I was surprised at how little food I really needed (also true) so I've continued to eat that way. I was eating smoked brisket from a rib joint, egg and bacon, ham, meatloaf, meatballs at an Italian food joint, toppings off of a single slice of pizza, etc. As for the drinking I explained that I stop 1/2 an hour before and drink 1/2 an hour after because I eat so little that if I drink then I'm hungry again shortly after eating or I feel bloated. Nobody questioned wls.

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
How is she going to feel when you lose 3 pounds one week and she "only" loses 1? Will you not be doing this "together" at that point? It sounds like the relationship has bigger issues than wls...

Why is a stool sample needed
highfunctioningfatman replied to marissahealthiernewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&ASo they can get you seated in the waiting room! Honestly I don't have a clue. Most likely because they found something else that they can bill your insurance for.

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
I can see the concern of some of the members here in regards to people giving seriously bad advice. Like has been said, we all make our own choices. Some choices got us to where we are and other choices now have us going a complete different direction. Most of us don't want to see a member make a bad choice either for their weight loss or for the potential of bodily harm. Being on liquids is a tough time. Once you get past that stage things get easier. A simple example of a choice, today there was no way to make it back to my office for lunch and I was stuck in a small town with limited restaurant options. I chose a Mexican food joint and ordered a chili Colorado burrito without rice, sour cream or the tortilla. They looked at me odd especially when I said that I didn't want chips, salsa or a beverage. I gladly paid full price and tipped them well for making exactly what I wanted. Without the temptations even being on the table. It is all about choices.

New to forum and WLS... many questions.
I had an excellent experience in Mexico. I went through Trinity Medical. I see that you are in Oregon as well. If you are in Southern Oregon I can hook you up with 4 of us that have all gone there. One is an owner operator of a log truck, one is a respiratory therapist, one works in a hospital and the last is myself. I work for a national home oxygen and respiratory company. I manage the drivers and run the warehouse as well as duties in the field.

What has been the hardest part of your journey thus far?
My only frustration is that I can't drink plain water. I immediately feel bloated in my stomach and it truly kicks my butt. I drink Propel instead.

Surgeries in Tijuana Mexico
I had an excellent surgery in Mexico. I went through Trinity Medical and they treated us like family. My wife was treated to lobster and a massage. They also got her whatever food she wanted while I was at the hospital. Zero complications and zero complaints.

No goal weight.
My goals are 33-34 pants and a large shirt. Crazy enough I'm already in 34 pants and a 2xl shirt! I was in 38 pants and 4xl shirts. No goal weight in mind.
