  1. I still haven't told my dad. My mom died 8 months after getting bypass in 2001. Her body was fighting cancer and it wasn't found. During healing her body couldn't heal and fight the cancer. He is completely against wls. I told him that I over produced ghrelin which is true. I told him that the surgery would reduce ghrelin levels and allow me to lose weight which is true. He doesn't need to know more than that.
  2. 38. Stats to the left updated every single pound!
  3. I had the sleeve in Mexico at Trinity Medical and was EXTREMELY happy! The cost was $4400 and the plane tickets from Southern Oregon to San Diego was $474 for my wife and I. They treated us like family. Good luck finding that in the states.
  4. All of my choices are based on nutrition labels. I look for no sugar, no carb and low salt. I'm not too worried about calories or fat. So far it seems to be working well for me. Your results may vary.
  5. I went back to work on the 7th day post op. My work was primarily desk. There isn't a reason other than weight restrictions that would have stopped me from doing my regular job. I'm a supervisor for the drivers for an oxygen and respiratory company as well as managing our warehouse. I saw no reason why I couldn't be on the road as well other than those pesky weight restrictions. I say pesky because my boss had the surgery a year before me and she called my surgeon and had him specifically stress the restrictions.
  6. If it wasn't for the fact that I "poof" out at my stomach when I sit I would be quite comfortable with a 2xl shirt. I've lost 18 3/4" between my chest, stomach, waist, biceps, thighs and calfs. In my chest, stomach and waist I've lost 14 1/2"!
  7. (In my best but still really cruuuuddy Elvis voice) Thank you, thank you very much!
  8. Try drinking something other than water. I CAN'T drink water! I drink Propel water. I've also been fine with Gatorade G2, Powerade Zero, vitamin water zero and something else that I don't recall that was sugar free. I have the exact same symptoms at 6 weeks out when I attempt water.
  9. I sent something similar to my boss who had this surgery a year before me. She told me that I still don't have a butt. I told her that for Halloween I'd send her a picture of me in just a cowboy hat and assless chaps. She immediately responded with HELL NO!!!. I laughed back that either way she has that image of me in her head (as you probably have now). Ain't I a stinker?
  10. @@WLSResources/ClothingExch If you like the 7 pounds in 6 days, check this out! http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/379379-biggest-nsv-yet/
  11. Holy cow am I excited! I didn't intend to buy a pair of pants today but I just wanted to try on a couple to see where I was at. I went into a local Farm and Ranch store and spoke to the gal there. I showed her what I was dealing with I'm told her what size I was and that I was tired of looking like I was wearing a diaper on my ass everywhere that I went. She suggested based upon my current size that I go to 35x30. This lady is absolutely insane was my freaking thought! Imagine my surprise when they were actually too loose! I needed a 34x30! Several weeks ago I got out of my van at a customer's place and my shorts fell off my butt. I really didn't think that I was quite this far along. I will officially be 6 weeks out tomorrow and I've lost 7 pounds since Monday! I'm down 47 pounds since starting my pre op diet on 8/29. I'm officially the lowest weight that I've been in mt ENTIRE adult life at 265 pounds! It was such an adrenaline rush that I actually bought the dang pants even though I wasn't intending to. Last weekend with my diaper ass Levis. Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(perhaps to many exclamation points? Heck no!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Exactly! The doc said whenever I felt up to it. I was asked to take it easy at first because we explained that we are quite sexual and adventurous. Nine days was fine for us to resume like our usual selves.
  13. I forgot about the scales. One of my employees is Jewish and he jokes that he is "the worst Jewish ever" because he loves pork. For some reason everything has clicked this week and I've dropped 7 pounds in the last 6 days.
  14. I'm at 6 weeks and I love spice as well but I do it in much smaller amounts. I did wasabi and soy sauce at 15 days. I'm back to eating my Arizona Gunslinger Habanero sauce and Chinese chili paste.
  15. Let's see if I recall enough about kosher eating. meats and dairy are supposed to be separated from other and pigs have cloved feet but they don't chew cud. Nope not kosher! Bariatric kosher though, as I recall it is Protein first so... Beef, yep. Shrimp, yep. Bacon, yep. Cream cheese, yep. Rosemary, nope. Lime juice, nope. The yeppers have it for the bariatric kosher win!
  16. Don't wait! My sweetie and I played around starting day 2. Slow and easy was day 5. Day 9 was like teenagers in the back of a mustang but without the mustang.
  17. I am definitely a lucky man! I couldn't have a more wonderful wife! Not quite sure how I hooked her but I'm so glad that she didn't spit the hook.
  18. We try to do one special meal once per payday. My sweetie hit a home run! That is a bacon wrapped filet mignon and butterflied shrimp stuffed with cream cheese, lime juice, rosemary and then wrapped in bacon. Unfortunately 3 bites of steak was all that I could handle but those shrimp, oh those shrimp! Ahhh, happy fat man indeed! ????
  19. HCG, Adkins, Ephedrine, hypnosis (don't eat the white foods, no kidding dumbass!) but my favorite was a self inflicted 425 calorie pizza diet. I found mini pizzas that were 425 calories and I ate one per day for 3 months. I felt horrible but I did lose weight.
  20. Thanks, now I need to clean the drool off of my phone...
  21. I'm picky now, low carb, no breads, sugars, pastas or rice. I love anything that swims but obviously that is out for you. I also love anything smoked. The crab that I had at work had gone bad so I hit up a local bbq joint and was pleasantly surprised to find that the sell there meat by the pound as well. I got 1/2 a pound of smoked brisket and 1/2 a pound of pulled pork. One super nice thing is that they don't sauce the meats until after so it is sugar loaded. I paid a whopping $11. I asked my sweetie to make chicken cordon bleu with pulverized wasa crackers as breading. She also used baby portobello shrooms Greek yogurt and milk as the basis of a sauce that was dang similar to cream of mushroom.
  22. Try Aliexpress.com. I usually have good luck with them. Shipping does take a while, though. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App A lot of great stuff there but all of their sizes are a bit small.
  23. I'm a bit different so my opinion isn't necessarily high brow. If it is noise then everyone is going to know that it is you anyway. If it is quiet then you are innocent until proven guilty. It has been my experience with wls to never trust a fart. They sneak up out of nowhere and sometimes they fool the magical muscles of the rectum into thinking that it is just a regular fart but then... You know, those fart pads could be used as poopie pads. Either way, never trust a fart!
  24. When we do it, it is for three people so we do a double batch. We use a 10" round casserole dish.
