  1. Welcome home K@T. Hope everything went well. Roberta
  2. Hi everybody, I just got in from the hospital. Everything went well except for the Morphine, which made me extremely nauseated by 6pm. So I ended up not taking anything for pain until early this afternoon. I didn't develop the gas pain yet, but imagine it will rear it's ugly head some time soon. I hope someone has heard from Eva. Is she doing well? Welcome home to all the other Bandits. Talk to you later this week. Wow, I do have that pregnant belly look. Roberta
  3. Well my fellow Bandits, my time is just about here. I am exhausted, and anxious. But I am so ready to get this show on the road. I leave tomorrow at 8:30am. They told me to be there at 9am so I have no idea what time my surgery is, I'm just thankful I didn't have to wait until the afternoon. The next time you hear from me I will finally be a BANDIT. I will return home on Tuesday, late afternoon. Thank you ALL for your prayers, and kind words through this long journey. Roberta
  4. Hey Gurl, I was just thinking about you. Good Lord I am sooooo hungry. Did you hear my stomach all the way over there? Think'n about slapping some Bar-B-Que sauce on DH. LOL. I hope I can go to sleep early so that I don't have to have my stomach growling all night. I am so ready to do this. I leave my house 8:30am tomorrow, the hospital is about 10min away. I have an overnight stay so I'll give you guys a line or two when I get in Tuesday. They discharge late in the afternoon so you'll probably hear from me around 5pm. BTW, 20#s lost? Outstanding!!!! Work that band :-) Thanks for thinking of me..... Roberta
  5. Welcome home Yoda. Glad your doing okay Roberta Surgery date Tomorrow, 4/24/06
  6. Thanks for the encouragement Disneynut. I can't believe my time is just about here(Monday) after waiting so long ( 6 month supervised wls). Tina: Congrats on your date. My surgeon did not require a pre-op diet. Some doctors do some don't. I have cut back on my carbs and have had at least one protein drink a day for about 2 weeks. Kristie: Welcome to bandland Roberta Surgery dateApril 24 2006
  7. Listen You..... Eva and I are the ones who should be wigging out not you!!! We are the ones going under the "knife". It's past your bed time, now go to sleep!!!!! I think I should delete this thread since it's having this "strange effect on you. I think by now everyone knows where to find clear Protein. Roberta Surgery Monday, 4/24/06
  8. Hey Tina, I have 5 bottles already and I'm going back to get 5 more ( if the sale is still on) Pretty cool huh? 40 gr of Protein in one bottle. Your right, who would have thought that getting enough calories would EVER be a problem for us!!! Tomorrow is my 26 wedding anniv. This the first year that I haven't planned anything for us. I usually have a card waiting for my DH when he wakes up. This year....absolutely NOTHING. I just realized this tonight. Too late to go to the store for a card. I plan on taking him to see the "Jersey Boys" on Broadway. But I haven't even gone on line to get the tickets yet. This band has consumed all my thoughts and energy. I feel badly for my DH. I'm usually the one who pitches a fit if I don't get a card on our day even if he made plans to Celebrate over the weekend. I think I might be in trouble!!!! :-( Roberta Heading to Bandland on 4/24/06 Roberta Surgery date: April 24, 2006
  9. Bostongurl, your right we are doing something great for ourselves, and I am so ready to get this show on the road. Lisa: I know what you mean about the wait. Originally I was to be banded on 4/17, but my surgeon went on vacation.(how selfish of him :-) So here I am 3 days away from Monday!!!! I promise you once it's May 1st you will be surprised how fast time will start to go. It's good in a way , it gives you time to get yourself well. The incident with your MIL was hilarious. You'll always be an April Bandit to us, so keep your little family here posted as to your progress. Roberta Surgery 4/24/06
  10. 3 more days!!!!!!!! Yikes. I'm starting to feel the pressure ;-( Roberta Surgery 4/24/06
  11. Hang in there K@t you can do it. Think of all the extra weight you'll loss before banding. It's like a little head start. Roberta Surgery 4/24/06
  12. I love your posts!!! keep them coming. You always have sage advise. Roberta
  13. Welcome Linakaw. My surgeon does not require a pre-op diet and after surgery I will only have 1 day of liquids and then right into mushies if tolerated. Each surgeon is different so you'll have to wait until you decide on a doctor. From what I have read not everyone gets fills that often. Some have only had one or two fills in a year, others have 3 or 4 in a year. It all depends on the persons ability to feel full for several hours. I'm going to be banded on Monday so I haven't had the experience of old time bandsters. I'm sure some of them will answer your post and give you better information. Continue doing your research, and look into some of the other threads, you will find a wealth of information on this forum. Don't be scared, if you choose this journey you will find a large family here eager to support you. I wish you the best. Roberta
  14. Welcome home Dana. I sure hope I do as well as you. Reyna: It's a good thing you had the band put in. You got rid of a hernia which was bound to give you trouble at some point. 20#s in one week, woo mama!!!! Outstanding job. Roberta
  15. I swear The Best Me must have stock in Aloe Vera juice and Egg Drop soup!!!LOL. Honestly, I know how good it is but I haven't used it for a long time. As soon as I read The Best Me posts that are all over this forum, I ran out and bought some organic Aloe juice. So Now I am good to go for my surgery on Monday. Thanks for the tip. Your such a sweetie pie. Roberta Surgery 4/24/06
  16. Welcome home girl!! Your finally in Bandland. We've heard form you and Fiona, so we just have to hear from Shackdog. I hope he's doing well. Roberta
  17. Lisa...I'm so sorry to hear about your delay. I hope your kidney problems turn out well. It's a good thing that they found this out before banding. You don't want anybody going in there and messing up your band placement and causing big problems down the line. Roberta
  18. Shackdog, Amourette, and Jeepergurl your in our thoughts today. We wish you well Roberta
  19. Welcome Shellibriz, and congratulations on your banding.. Roberta Surgery date April 24,2006
  20. I'll be married 26 years on April 21 to a very good man!!!! Roberta
  21. Your on your way!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you Roberta
  22. You'll be able to take your meds. You'll need to purchase a pill cutter/crusher. No pre-op diet for me, I will have to do clear fluids the day before surgery. GNC has a good selection of clear protein (40 grams) and you can also purchase whey protein (20 grams) from Injury.com. I'm scheduled for 4/24 so I know what you mean by ANXIETY:faint: . You will be fine don't worry. You'll find plenty of people here to support you. Roberta
  23. Carbonation is not good for the band. Some say it can lead to the pouch stretching. I know what you mean about the pasta. Some Bandsters say they can tolerate it. Wait until your on a regular diet and then see what happens. Moderation will be the key as to how many times a month you have it. Especially since your main goal right now is to lose weight. Hope to join you in band land 4/24 Roberta
  24. Congratulations Mandy!! You look Maaaaaarvelous. I hope to be in your shoes one day soon. Roberta
  25. Sherri, congratulations to you and Amourette. I think there is one other person but I can't find my list to check. So, the best to that person also. Sherri you will be just fine, and yes you are starting a brand new exciting life. But look at all the people you have pulling for you on the other side. I hope to join you next Monday. Let us know how your doing after your surgery. Roberta
