I read somewhere that the only taste of success some people get is the bite they take out of you. Seems like your success is tasting pretty bitter in some ones mouth. Don't let this jealous person steal your groove. You earned it.

On the plus side at least you could genuinely say no. Because who the heck would have fat surgery? Your supervisor is a twit. You did the right thing laughing it off. People like that just like to see that they have caused discomfort with their comments. You take that away from them they've got nothing. Best of luck with you surgery, good luck avoiding idiots.

I don't know what it was called but a gym I used to go to had this thing that was like bicycle peddles attached to a kind of Water wheel for your arms. It was the most brutal seated aerobic exercise I have ever come across maybe there is a home version of this? I'm sorry I don't know the name of it. Best of luck with your exercise, weight loss and recovery.

While many medical professionals display a great deal of professionalism and give great care, I think some may need professional training about bullying. I honestly believe some have no understanding of the great power differential that exists between patients and caregivers. The hospital is a good example. We're depending on medical professionals to care for our basic needs. We're feeling our worst and looking our worst. It seems obvious that rule #1 should be don't talk about religion and politics. At my last pre-op appointment, the radiology tech talked politics while pressing very hard into my ribs during a sonogram. He also asked a lot of questions about my surgery, even though my body language and short answers should have indicated I didn't want to discuss it with him. Then my first overnight nurse on the floor talked politics after surgery. I felt like I couldn't say anything cause I was depending on her to take care of me and be there when I needed her. I also hardly had my wits about me to get into a political debate. Everyone else involved in my care was wonderful, but these two left a bad taste in my mouth.

Not sure about the mercury aspects. I should look into this.
Same with cholesterol from eggs and such.
Keep in mind that once you have your sleeve you're not really eating high volumes of protein.....just high percentage of your intake is protein.
In other words.......consider a normal meal from your former life. Imagine it. Think about what the plate looked like when it was loaded down at your normal meals. Got an image in mind ? Good. Now, remove the side items from the plate. Zero in on the entree. Got it? Good. Now zero in on that Entrees and then shrink it down to 1/4 cup in size.....or 1/2 cup or whatever size meal your phase has you eating at meals.
Now....you'll see that you may actually be eating LESS protein than you were before....and none of the other stuff. No side dishes....no salads.....no Desserts. You'll only have room for some of the protein rich entree.
With this in mind, you can still cook the same meals for your family....but you select from just part of it for your own needs.
Supplement the gaps with bariatric Multivitamins, Calcium, Iron and B-12.
    Stay hydrated.
    Get lean.
It's simple......as long as you let it be simple.
Stay away from foods that don't fit your new goals.....and even their substitutes. Stick with the basics and work through the various phases.

Re: whole grain crackers. Personally I don't think grains of any sort are a good idea in weight loss mode or until you have been successfully maintaining for at least six months. They will still cause cravings, are very calorie-dense, and provide very little in terms of nutrition. Also, indulging things like "I want something crunchy" or "I want something salty" or "I want something sweet" is how we all got obese in the first place. For me it's been really important to learn that eating is not about entertainment, indulgence, or wish fulfillment. Yes, you should enjoy your food, but it's about nourishment and learning a healthy way to eat, not about satisfying cravings. If you teach yourself that you absolutely must satisfy your cravings somehow, then you'll always be a slave to them. The only way you can kick them to the curb is to ignore them and teach yourself that there are other ways to entertain, amuse, and comfort yourself.

As I was coming out of the soft foods stage.....there simply isn't enough room in a 1/4 cup sized meal for anything but Protein.
All that other stuff simply doesn't fit, thusly was avoided.
Now that I've been told to push towards 1 full cup of food there is room to get my Protein in...and add some vegetables, too.
1/4 cup isn't much food. Stick with protein. This is the point in the weight loss focus where we shouldn't be concerned about food focus....it's not about wonderful flavors and such......it's simply about getting the nutrition and moving on. Break the food focus and get going with the losing.

Slippery slope, stay far away IMO. You don't need fake Pasta or "low carb" tortillas. Adopt a way of eating that embraces the healthy choices you have, not something that substitutes a second-rate version of what is a crap food in the first place.

So I'm on this committee that meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month. I missed last month since I was on FMLA and this month's meeting (I'm 2 months out) was today. It is in the college of pharmacy in a classroom that we reserve so it has those chairs with the tiny desk thing that goes up and down in front of you. I hope you know what I mean. Prior to surgery, I would always have to leave the desk up and pull another chair over to me in order to write/look at portfolios on that chair's desk because the desk would come nowhere close to going down. Got some funny looks the first few months that I did that.
Today, I went in, sat in my usual seat, started to scoot another desk over and stopped. I kinda looked around to see if anyone was paying attention and decided to lower the desk on my chair to see how much farther I would have until I could put it down. IT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to tell someone and I was afraid people I know would think I'd gone crazy for being so excited about something like that....figured I could Celebrate here without anyone thinking I was TOO crazy!

I'm sure I've posted this elsewhere but here 'tis again...
For a 'healthier' alternative, us the type of base that @@OutsideMatchInside
mentions, or simply a wholegrain tortilla...
Add some lite cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers and a sprinkle of bitey Pecorino Romano...
Dry fry the bottom in a frypan then slip under the grill to brown the cheese...
    It aint real pizza...
    But it aint real bad...

Enjoy the journey. It sounds cheesy, but it's true.

Every size lost, every new pair of pants bought, every teeny victory is to be savored. The first time you can back your car up and actually turn around in your car seat comfortably, the first time you paint your toenails and can breath while doing so, the first time you can cross your legs, or wear a regular sized garment, or get up off the floor without rolling to your knees first, or wrap your fingers around your wrist, or feel your hipbones, your sternum, your tailbone...

There are so many little things that you will do and then realize you DID (cuz ohmygawd you've not done that in SO.FREAKING.LONG). When the scale stops moving for a few weeks (but your pants keep getting looser) you have to rejoice in all the little things that are happening to your body along the way, because those are what add up to the big things.
No one will ever see your number on the scale (unless you shamelessly tell people like I do at times), and rarely will someone know your clothing size (well...uhm...) but they WILL see you bounce up the stairs without huffing and puffing, they will see your confident posture and smile as you shop at a regular store, they will see you run after your kids or for the bus...

This WLS thing is awesome. Ridiculously awesome. Enjoy every minute of it.

I simply tell people I eat less (truth), move more (truth) and follow a low carb diet (truth). No "stories" to remember, simple and to the point, and 100% factual.

No shame in my game. (That's usually the next thing "tellers" start throwing out there.)

(Oh. And no, it's not my duty to educate other fatties on the joys of WLS. That will be after the shame part.)

Just a question to clarify. Why did you stop at half? Were you full at that point? Or at least satisfied? If yes, then I would say everything seems to be the way it should be in terms of restriction and how much you can eat. I think we can all eat if we eat, take a break then eat again. That's what we call grazing.
So, the thing to think about is whether or not to start back up again after a break. If that's what your plan is then everything seems just fine. Nothing to worry about except to make a note to yourself that you can eat more than your plan allow by spacing it out and taking breaks.
Biggest thing I have learned is not to eat until FULL. I eat until I am no longer hungry. That has made a dramatic difference.

Ok, here's another one....if you are fortunate enough not to have a disability...DO NOT PARK IN THE HANDICAPPED SPACES! DO NOT USE THE HANDICAPPED BATHROOM STALLS AND DO NOT USE THE HANDICAPPED SHOPPING CARTS! My daughter is disabled, after having 4 open heart surgeries in her short 24 years of life....she needs these things! If you use these and do not need them, you are an assf^ck.
