Insurance coverage but considering Mexico. Thoughts?
I went straight to Mexico but a lot of it was the type of insurance I could get through my employer was just as expensive but very restrictive.you could only get the surgery after 6 months of supervised weight loss and psych eval.both had to be done 250 miles away. That didn't include all the other test involved. If that weren't enough the deductable would be 4800.i knew people that went that route.they had complications.everyone who went to Mexico was fine.i asked the people who did it in USA and they felt that if they would have considered Mexico instead of discounting immediately

Failing at Friendship
You probably would be better off with some friends that are more mature in age and mentality than the typical college student. Perhaps there is a group at school focused on your interest such as politics, career etc and not on the college lifestyle of parties and other shallow endeavors

Spouse issues ?
Yes, I think it's common for people to try to be a feeder even if they weren't before. You have to put your foot down right away or you'll send a mixed message.only you can be in charge of what to eat.

You might be a slow loser .I only lost 24 pounds my first month. But I have lost weight every month.im down 100 lbs and had the same fears that I wouldnt lose the weight.at this point I think my goal was too conservative and think I could easily lose more weight. By the year mark.good luck and dont sweat it.

Why can't I get the support I need[emoji17]
My family wasn't completely against the surgery at first. And they were not impressed the first couple months but they are certainly believers now that I'm smaller than they ever seen me and no longer unhealthy.

Undecided on what to do
The best advice we all can give you is to do your research. This is not the easy way to lose weight but it can help.I imagine at your weight now you are overwhelmed. If you decide this is right for you you need to be 100 percent in.It will change you.If you are using food to comfort you that will be gone.It is not any fun to give up all your vices and crutches and deal with what is bothering you.You will trade your habits for a new life.It is worth it.But only you can decide if this is the right time or process for you.

How many calories per day for a man who is 2 weeks post op?
I don't believe that before you hit maintenance that you need to count calories. The main goal is to hit the higher limits of protein and water consumption.By doing that you almost can't blow the diet unless you are eating high carbs or sugar.

Scheduled for January! Dr Cabrera, anyone?
I used Dr. Cabrera. I have nothing bad at all to say about my experience! He and the entire team were great. At this point I have went from 267 pre-op to 159 as of today.I think Cabrera's pts lose slower than some pts but it is better in the long run.I was disappointed in the beginning I only lost 24 pounds the first month but I am still losing so I can't complain.I fully expect to be below goal weight at my anniversary. At this point I am smaller than I have been in twenty years. Also,I look and feel great. I wish you all the best and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

How much did your weight loss surgery in Mexico cost, total?
You can send them an email to get started.I had a popular date picked so I started early.for me I paid my deposit on Jan 9 and surgery date was Mar 17.I am sure I could have gotten an earlier date if I needed it.You have to called to give financial info (credit card or debit) but the call is short. They email a copy of the transaction.for MBC pts. You stay at Hyatt of Tj.it is nice and feels very safe. This was my first time out of the country. They took care of everything.I was scared for nothing.

Fabulous NSV....whats yours ?

How much did your weight loss surgery in Mexico cost, total?
I paid a down payment of 525.00 to reserve my surgery date.my balance was 3800.00 which I brought in the form of cashiers check.I flew southwest and paid around 260.00 RT.I brought about 100.00 in cash in case I needed it.I went with MBC. I had my surgery March 17 and have lost 50 pounds.

"This was the best thing I ever did"
Surgery was no worse than having my gallbladder out.Let the ice melt before swallowing.Sometimes Popsicles are a better bet cause you can't drink fast. Also you may have an aversion to certain liquids or temps. If you can use a hot pack on your back.I won't lie. The first ten days sucked.it was bearable because its not like you will feel lousy for a long time. Its so worth it! Surgery tomorrow May 10 and freaking out
No one knows for sure that you will be ok. But, with that being said the complications that you mentioned are rare. At this point you have decided on your own that this is right for you. You have to continue to trust your own judgement. Be realistic , will you lose the weight without surgery? I had gotten to the point that I would rather die free than live a slave to my parasitic fat. I have NO regrets.
