Curious, everyone sounds able to easily adjust after surgery. We're you following a strict diet before? My surgery is Nov 29 and I've cut back but feel like I'm going through the food funeral stage but regretful because it doesn't taste as good as I thought it would

Lol, I've only told one friend and my husband that I've decided to go forward with the surgery but for about a year when I was thinking about it I mentioned it to a few people. My favorite response was, "you're not THAT fat", which I heard probably 3 times. I think it's supposed to be a compliment?

My program didn't have any pre-op liquid diet. Just high Protein (3 oz first at every meal), low carb. I followed it pretty well (not perfectly) and lost 25 lbs in the two months between orientation and surgery. We had to finish dinner by 6pm the day before surgery, but no prep other than that. Every program is very different.

I waited a week, then called every 2 days. At 2 weeks asked the Dr if they've heard back and they reached out. Just approved today at 3 weeks

I have yet to find something great for body but the gold bond neck and chest has been wonderful. I was worried about getting the turkey neck with the amount of weight I've lost and I use that daily and my neck looks great in my opinion.

Ok so I went to the gym today always start out by hopping on the elliptical for 15 minutes. Well I felt calm and my breathing was slow and could breathe in and out of my nose. I didn't need to open my mouth to take in deep breaths. So I thought what the heck I'll jog some today bc I'm doing so good. I go work on my legs and do a arm machine before heading to treadmill. After that I'm on the treadmill started to zone out for my focus point then start to jog, I did that for 7 minutes! I know it doesn't sound like much but for me it is great of course back in 2013 I jogged for 20 minutes. Working myself up to that amount will probably only take a few days. Yaaaayyy me!!

The PA said I'm fine. If the insurance was going to be that chosen they would have denied me for not losing much. I'll find out in a week. It's so stressful. I would have thrown we ights in my pocket the first day had I known thanks for asking!

After your surgery you can deduct your costs for Vitamins and Protein drinks, mixes etc. because they are both required for a medical condition. This is addressed on the IRS website and I confirmed with my CPA. Save your receipts !! And just add them right into your medical expenses if you itemize.

So today is my first day of pre-op. Being in the UK it's bedtime soon so I've had my day and all has gone well!
I'm not really an eater so the lack of intake is ok with me. Water, Protein shake, Water, water and 3oz of roast beef with a good salad. I'm sure it will get 'tense' as I head towards the op on September 13th (thankfully not a Friday!)
I had a great party this weekend where I drank for to much as I said goodbye to Alcohol.... For now.
So I'm starting my journey at 358lbs. Apprehensive, nervous not knowing what you don't know BUT double exited.
A lot of you guys have inspired me to get this done and if I get anywhere near your successes. I will be delighted.
