  3. Hey AMSDERB.... I have United Healthcare.... I am so suprised how great they have been to me so far...I never expected this much support from my insurance company... especially since I just switched to this company in January! I had Healthnet before and they were just terrible! I had them for several years and decided to change...boy am I glad I did! Good luck with Dr. Blackstone...she seems wonderful. I have my Preop on April 1st....cant wait... just counting down the days. I do plan on attending her support meetings so maybe we can meet each other.
  4. Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions.... I am concerned that I might like shopping for new clothes a little too much! Several years ago I used to love to run.... just the thought of being able to actually run again is very exciting.... hopefully running and exercise will be my new way to deal with everyday stress. I had also heard from someone that they had taken to cleaning out closets and organizing all their clutter.... I just have to find a way to be constructive and try not to think of eating..... Losing weight and having a well organized home would be just great with me!
  5. Thank you for all your responses.... it does help. I am concerned as a close family member had gastric bypass and is now an alcoholic. I talked to him about it and he said he needed something else to replace the food. He had no counseling before or after ..... That is one advantage I have is that my insurance has also approved a years worth of counseling for me along with the surgery. I cant stand drinking so I am not worried that will be my addiction ....I think I am more scared of the feeling of having to find "something" to fill the void. Thanks for listening........:blushing:
  6. I am having my surgery next month on the 18th.... as part of my preop I had to do a psych eval .... one thing the Doctor asked me about is if I thought I might switch addictions after my surgery as I will not be able to eat out of stress and boredom any longer.... I know this is an area of debate but there is not much info out there about switching addictions after weight loss surgery. I have heard some stories but wonder if anyone has any input on this subject?
  7. I was coming on the boards tonight to confess my eating habits for today.... I am so glad I came across this thread....I know now I am not alone. The day started good with a slim fast for breakfast but now at the end of the night I have put away four hostess cupcakes and two cinnamon rolls ........sugar and carbs are my weakness!
  8. I tried this tonight with feta cheese and it was delicious!!!!!!! My 11 year old son even ate it. I am a huge fan of Pesto so I had to try it....I will be making this all the time! Thanks again
  9. :smile2:Thanks!! That helps... I am in the process of going thru all the testing right now for my band... This is such a great place to come and get your questions answered. Sounds silly but one of the things that scare me the most is the PB'ing!
  10. Hi all.... this is my first post. I had a question in regards to the PB's too.... do you actually feel nauseous before you PB or does it just happen? What would the warning signs be? Thanks
