Burping
greetings,i felt like you for quite sometime, and still do once in awhile. my little trick is when i feel like i have a burp coming, i make sure i bend all the way over at the waist. i know it sounds silly but i believe it pushes the burp where it should go and that is out. standin or sitting it haa worked for me. don't burp much but when i do i wanna make sure it exits appropriately. works fo rme anyways. g2s

FaCiNg ThE tRuTh .....
girl you are doing the right thing and that is being healthy and providing your child with a role model. your child deserves to have a parent that can keep up and be part of their life. a parent that can teach good life skills, make good choices, and set the example. you are doing it all for the right reasons, your child comes first. and the others, you may serve as a role model for them as well, if not then you are meant to be past that point in your life, we all grow. nothing is constant but change. good for you!!! you deserve to be happly and healthy. g2s

A 3-week post-op Cry for Help!
lise would you let me know how your fill goes? i was banded 3/5 and my first fill is 4/17. I think we have had some similarities in our progress and I would be interested to see what your fill cc is and what your perspective is afterwards. i understand everyone is diff, but our pre op post op surgeon info/recommendations appear to be very similiar. thanks g2s

Hello from Italy waiting Banding
oh yah they are smokers that is for sure. Yes Italy has the food market cornered in my opinion. So Preop food plan was 3 weeks out 1 meal of replacement shake and 2 meals of meat and green vegetable. then on 2 weeks out it was 2 Meal Replacements and 1 meal of meat and green vegetables. 1 week out 3 Meal Replacement shakes a day. i am 5'6" and weighed 212, my surgeon wanted my weight down by 8 pounds and my liver healthy. that is his practice for everyone and i did lose the weight. he had no issues with my liver and was able to work around it very easy. my post op was similiar to yours, liquids 1 week, mushies 1 week, reasonable solids (ground beef, fish, etc) 3 weeks. mushies were hard for me because I like hot cereals and those pack the pounds on me, so i went for cottage cheese, thick veggie Soups, yogurts, ricotta cheese with some seasoned stewed tomatoes and garlic, you get the pic. if you look on the right side of this web page right below the search window, it says, "Members Area." click the "messages" link and it will take you to the PM and you just type in the users name and it will send your message to that user only. i am with you, i don't wrangle these websites too often but you will get the hang of it. I have learned that my doctor's words of advice have been right on the money everytime, i have followed his directions to a tee and i feel really good and have not had any "issues." if you would like to visit their website it is Western Bariatric Institute :: Home This website is a wealth of info but if you would like to see my surgeons info packet, I would be happy to mail it to you. just let me know. g2s

What Happened?
and those non supporters can kiss your a$$!!! go with it, i think susan had some really good advice. start over, go at it slow and if yoru fill doc is a non supporter then find another one. rome wasn't built in a day, and this fill business is not a science. what's wrong with starting over, you have great experience to use along the way this time!! Sometimes we all have to try things 2-3-4-5-6 times before we get it right, don't beat yourself up. you are human, we make mistakes. love yourself and be kind to yourself, you deserve to be happy and healthy. good vibes to you, g2s

quick question...what is ' bandster hell'
I always knew the best part of Utah was in my rearview mirror......... Justicenyce I stand corrected, not everyone goes thru "bandster hell."

quick question...what is ' bandster hell'
yah you can do it. newly banded there is some restriction, we had none before. this "hell" just allows us to make better choices so when there is the real deal restriction we aren't having "issues." i am sure i could eat more than my 1/2-1 cup of food per meal but I don't risk stretching my pouch. i have been fortunate to not have any bad experiences this far, so I will continue to keep that mind set, it works for me. we all have temptations just keep in mind the "smaller is better than none" concept. my mom got a box of see's candy from my sister for a birthday gift. I had one with the rationalization that eating one is living normal. And I am good with that. so there is my soap box moment. g2s

quick question...what is ' bandster hell'
it is when you have your band with no real restiction yet, and you are trying to keep in the losing side of the scale. we all go thru it untill we have a fill/find the sweet spot. some find that easier than others. hope that helps. g2s

Anyone not losing due to emotional eating/eating around band?
well then i guess they don't really qualify as friends do they? remove yourself from what irritates/depresses/saddens you and you have half the battle whipped. don't expect others to change, but you can change your environment. take baby steps and take one day at a time. and you know what, the whole world can kiss your a$$, you do what is best for you. g2s

Hello from Italy waiting Banding
oh vicenza, i have spent 2 months there, actually stayed at Longare barracks. i love that place. there is a restaurant that we would go to just a little walk from the barracks, and there was another downtown, i think it was Annies, Amies, something like that but the food was DEVINE!! pm is private message, so people can post one on one. kinda like instant messaging, but delayed. if that makes sense. 10 years of experience sounds pretty good to me, i always wondered why those italian women were so small and had big boobs!! hahah now I know the secret. good for you for taking the step to be healthy. what will your whole process be for the pre op and post op requirements? g2s

Anyone not losing due to emotional eating/eating around band?
weightloss is not easy, no matter what way we go about it. this may sound crazy, but have you tried not having the temptation around? how about just shopping for nothing but good healthy food and take that bad stuff out and throw it in the trash. make sure you throw some real stinky garbage on top, so you don't try to salvage what you threw out. you will gain strength from taking control and getting rid of the junk. keep up the vigil................g2s

Banded Celebrities

Port Sites....are they ugly ?
my port does protude slightly, but i have always had a very fat free abdomen and it barely shows. it is not unsightly or heinous, it is just there and i don't mind a bit if it shows. i am secure with my decision and don't care if the world knows. to each his own. g2s

Learned a Lesson
yah those are hard habits to break, i find myslef wanting to make something quick and usually history repeats itself. fast typically wasn't good for me, so now i make sure i make what i need no matter how tired/stretched/bull headed i am. it gets easier, you will be fine. g2s

Coffee good/ bad effects on banded
prior to surgery i lived for coffee, starbucks was my favorite place to be, and just coffee with cream, no foofoo drinks. if i could have mainlined it i would have. well since surgery i can't handle any coffee weak or strong. i have to mix a tblspn of instant with sf hot chocolate. now my surgeon steers patients away from coffeee due to it being so acidic, but it really is what you can handle, if too acidic you will know. g2s

Learned a Lesson
5 eggs? i think maybe you ate too much not that you ate semi mushie food. i don't say this to be disrespectful, but 5 eggs is way to much to put in your tiny pouch. you may want to cut back on the volume and try smaller portions when you add new foods.............you may have less discomfort. g2s

Satisfied, while DH isn't.
a wise old italian lady told me once upon a time..............men vent to their women to hear their women tell them everything is okay and they are still the Alpha Male. Women vent to their men just to vent, they don't want answers or solutions. i think she was right. g2s
