Thanks for responding! Gas-x is a good idea, I’ll look into that and see if it helps. I didn’t get much sleep and was in the bathroom most of the night. Hoping these first few uncomfortable days pass quickly for us all!

I had my sleeve done the day after you, and I am experiencing the same gas issue, but mine hasn't come out at all. It's causing some not so nice pains in the gut!
    Did you try taking gas-x?

I had my surgery the day before you, but haven't had the issue you are having.

Honestly, I would not worry as long as you are drinking your fluids to ensure you do not get dehydrated. Our pouches and new intestinal tract are going to react somehow, someway to let us know they aren't happy with us.

    Feel well!

I got my date today, January 30th. I’m in disbelief that it was approved. I went through the process in 2016 only to be denied due to a miscommunication by my insurance 8 months prior. I was devastated and ended up quitting my job to find one with better insurance. At new employee orientation I requested a detailed list of approved procedures, lol. I don’t think I’ll fully believe that it’s really happening until they roll me into the operating room.

Before considering a hysterectomy, I would ask the doctor about having a uterine ablation. You won't be able to have children, but your organs will be intact.
It was my treatment of choice when, at 38, I began what was the worst 2 years of menstruation I could ever imagine. Ablation is an outpatient procedure done under a sedation similar to when you have a colonoscopy or EGD. They insert a balloon into your uterus through your cervix, and fill it with scalding hot liquid which ablates the lining permanently. Over the last 10 years, I've had a tiny amount of brown spotting that lasted about a day- less, really, about once a year.
My hormones are intact, as are my organs. Just a thought- if hysterectomy was your treatment of choice.

I don't have a good answer for you but my story is a bit similar.
I have PCOS and had a hysterectomy at age 34. I'm now 41. I didn't have children and didn't want them. I am content to be the fun aunt and mom to a pack of 3 small dogs.

I also had endometriosis and fibroids. Debilitating cramps and ridiculous amounts of bleeding. I had been on everything from bc pills to provera to try to regulate my nightmarish periods. I was on the trial for Seasonale and NuvaRing. Those all worked temporarily, but I'd be right back to square one again. I had 4 d&c procedures in less than 2 years. My final straw was when I had been bleeding over 60 days and called the doctor who agreed to do my surgery.
I found out after the surgery that I had a severe case of adenomyosis as well. No way to tell that until they do the surgery and do a biopsy.
I do not regret my hysterectomy one bit. I wish someone would have done it for me sooner. I felt like I got some degree of my life back.
I still have PCOS and one remaining ovary and am hoping VSG will help me better control some of those symptoms.
I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

I'm being revised from VSG to DS tomorrow and I'll can tell you this, if stinky poop and farts will help get the weight off and KEEP IT OFF, LONG TERM, bring on the smellies cuz I'm looking for the best surgery and screw the rest! LOL! Just make sure your doc is selling you on the TRUE DS and not the Sadi/Loop type DS. They are VERY DIFFERENT SURGERIES. Best of luck to you!

I had a cath and I didn't shave and certainly wasn't shaved while I was out! That would've been awesome though I hate shaving! Hahah!
I find that really strange they would make you shave, I mean for god sake it's just some pubes, part that shit and stick the cath in! ????

That is a tough one! My wife tries to be supportive but during one argument or another she told me the same thing.
I did nearly all of the pre-surgery meetings, tests, sleep studies, etc., by myself. I told her I would drive myself to the hospital and just stay an extra day in order to be able to drive myself back.
While having a support system is good, not having anyone around is far better than dealing with negativity during the days before, and immediately after, surgery. And I felt some support from this site even if I did not participate or post very often.
My wife eventually came around and accompanied me to the surgery. She doesn't follow a diet, and she doesn't cook, but she does shop for me. We eat different things, as do, I think, most of us here.

My hubby did something similar prior to surgery. He got really frustrated with me and made a smart remark about surgery.
We ended up discussing it later and he said that he is really nervous that I am going to lose the weight and get a smokin hot body and then leave him.
I'm 9 months post op and down 72 pounds. I haven't left him yet. I am scheduled to have plastics next month and the same monster is rearing it's head again about how I will leave him.
I believe it's just his insecurities about how he looks that is causing him to act this way. In my opinion I have a HOT husband and I find him incredibly attractive - he is in good shape and is very active. I will tell him when he acts up that I want to get to the real reason for why he is upset and lets deal with that instead of him taking his S#it out on me. After we talk for a while we can usually get to the bottom of it and move on.
I would try to talk to him and see what is really causing this issue.

As you may have noticed, I respond to a lot of posts with Embrace the Stall!
    http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
I got tired of responding to the same posts multiple times a day and so wrote one long post with the information I have gathered and what works for me and others as it relates to stalls.
I don't see the need for educating people about stalls to lessen anytime soon, but I would like to hear from YOU some of the good things that happened while you were in a stall.
    I'll start.
I am grateful that during my last stall, I: dropped a bathing suit size; increased my lap swimming to 1 hour, several times a week and have gotten faster and stronger; am able to get in and out of my car more easily; and no longer need a seatbelt extender.
    How about you?
