Good for you. I am glad you are being proactiv. I get so annoyed when people say things like "You are not that big, why are you getting surgery?". In my mind I'm thinking "I have the fat gene and I may not look that big to you now but I know where my weight can go and I want to get ahold of this before I get to 3-400 pounds and cant get out of bed". I would just recommend light clothing. It wouldn't be much difference in the weight between weighing in with a light dress and no shoes vs weighing nude. Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App

Personally I don't judge. I do believe everyone has a process, and we all need to decide what is the best way to deal with life's challenges. Yes, at her weight her health and quality of life are compromised.
At the same time I have been fat shamed so much in my life, especially in childhood and early adulthood, and I have literally never felt truly attractive because of it, despite evidence to the contrary, and being a normal or healthy BMI during most of my teens and at times during my 20s. I was always curvy with a bigger frame, and that used to be considered fat. I wish someone like her was around during my formative years. I can fix obesity. Fixing the deep seated issues I have with my body are a lot harder.
I really respect her message. Surgery isn't the answer for everyone, and changing your body and your behavior is difficult. She has the courage to let people film her life, and her struggles with self image and obesity. Yeah, she isn't perfect, but neither am I.

So true. It also kind of explains a little why she hasn't done weight loss surgery. She would have to quit smoking (forever), lose a certain amount of weight pretty surgery and completely change her lifestyle. I don't think she is up for the challenge right now. Hello! I am still pre op as well and I know exactly how you feel. I just keep thinking.."no risk, no reward". You should feel proud of yourself for even making the steps toward surgery while there are some who let the fear envelop them.

Looking at the Facebook page for "My Big Fat Fabolous Life" and it seems people are beginning to turn on her. I think people are starting to believe that she is using her NO BS campaign as an excuse for laziness. I really hope she turns it around.
