  1. Sorry, Donna. I don't do the facebook aps....except for "flair", which my wife "sweetly" twisted my arm to do.
  2. A big part of why the band is working for me is mindset (IMO). I have always looked at the band as an adjunct to a healthier lifestyle....a bridge to get me from here to there....a (I know it's horribly cliched here) tool. I read all the time on here (granted, mostly from newbies) basically how some people expect the band to either 1)somehow magically remove the desire to eat, or 2) physically stop them from eating too much, like a food policeman or something. Both of those views are flawed, but the second is the one that makes me cringe when I read it. I realize that right now I'm possibly underfilled, by some standards. There are very few foods that I can't tolerate. The thing is, my portion sizes are way, way down. Down to the point where I'm literally eating less than half of what I would pre-band. Combine those portions with exercise, and I'm losing weight. The perception that I'm using my band, as opposed to relying on it, is a source of pride for me....as flawed as that may be. It gives me a little self-esteem boost to have to "work" a bit to lose the weight, as opposed to being so tight that my band is doing all the work. Ah, now I'm rambling...but y'all have been so honest here that I guess I got into a semi confessional, though incoherent, roll. Sorry aboot that. *edited to add: reading back over this, I see that it comes off as completely judgemental. I wasn't thinking of any of y'all that have been having trouble when I wrote this.
  3. Why, 45 minutes southwest of Texarkana, Texas. If you want to mapquest it, the community is Douglasville, Texas 75551....be prepared for some podunk-ness. "Hotel for Dogs" - pretty good. It was every bit as laff-a-licious as a movie that's about recently orphaned siblings and euthanization of dogs can be! Kid movies I've loved - All the "Shrek" movies....but for my money, the best was "Hoodwinked"
  4. Yes? Somebody call me? Oh sorry, that was my highschool nickname... Get him to play "Smoke on the Water"! Duh-duh-duh...Duh-duh-duh-duh...
  5. But does the increased ghrelin level cause the obesity, or does the obesity cause the ghrelin increase? Hmmmmm.....
  6. Well....depends on how open-minded ya are..... *sleazy chuckle
  7. Um, this old dude is chronically abused by the post-op transsexual that he married, and the focus is on the exercise?!? BTW, that pool was full of pudding, not Water. That makes it murder one, in my book.
  8. I saw a movie like that on Cinemax.....it started with a pillow fight!
  9. NO! It's a dove dammit! A DOVE!!! A dove, I say!! DOVE!!! Dove! The symbol of peace! Dove!!!!
  10. A fellow Damnwells fan?!? Really?!? Really?!? Can it be??
  11. Um, that is clearly a dove. If you fart rainbows and fish, that can be a medical condition.
  12. Me too, homie! Also, this is a case of people trespassing onto private property and the owner of said property defending it. One doesn't even need to inject race into this one. I daresay if a rowdy group of whites, blacks, asians, indians, irishmen, whatever were trespassing chronically and destroying his stuff, he would have reacted the same way. It boils down to "Yes I trespassed...but then he was mean to me". Well, guess what....if you hadn't been on private property, then he wouldn't have been.
  13. Sure...I'll fed-ex it to ya! Beth, c'mon now..... I believe in "Sex Panther"....60% of the time it works all the time I feel sorry for octo-grandmom....sh'e been saying from the start that Natalie has not helped pay rent or utilities or anything to help rear the 6 kids (pre-octo birth). But what is supposed to do? kick her crazy daughter and (then) 6 grandkids out? No-win situation for grand-maw... *edited to add - I <heart> farting rainbows as well!
  14. Trell, she'll be found guilty of murder. Maybe not premeditated, but murder nonetheless. I'd be willing to bet ya a donut hole. I still think (maybe a little naively) that it probably was an accident. I think she wanted to sedate the girl so she could go out and party and OD'd her on chloroform. Well....to play devil's advocate here, I think they probably knew in their hearts Cailey (sp?) was dead, but psychologically, if Casey was saying she wasn't, then it's hard to give up on that last little glimmer of hope.....no matter how minute. I kinda feel bad for the granparents.
  15. Download the new Damnwells album for free at www.pastemagazine.com. You have to give 'em an email addy, but it's soooooo totally worth it......The Damnwells are the best. band. ever. (They have a Wilco groove) PS - you can youtube some videos of their older stuff. PPS- You're welcome.

  17. Smells like a used diaper full of Indian food....
  18. Wow.....that's quite the list!!
  19. Except they only recently added this proviso. The controversy is that the people that joined facebook prior to this newest add didn't electronically agree to this. Interesting....I bet all facebook users will soon have to re-sign the new terms of use.
