I would vote against gay marriage, if it came up for a vote in my state, even though I have numerous gay friends. I can't even really articulate a good reason that I feel that way....but I do. Hey Eric. We're glad to have you here. You are right to be concerned about the band.....that just tells me that you're actually putting some thought into it vs. jumping in blindly. Consideration is always a good thing with any surgery. You might want to check under the "doctors and hospitals" section on the main page. There might be some info on Dr. Curry or hospitals in Cincy there. So, you'll have a much better idea of what the band entails once you go to a seminar. In the meantime, please feel free to snoop around here and ask annoying questions (I love to do that, lol). Good luck, man!

Hey Vinca, it's cool that you found a doc that you really "clicked" with. Since you recommend him so highly, maybe you should post your opinion of him under the "doctors and hospitals" section on the home page. It seems like more people read the subforums than the "intro" section.

I really don't have a good answer for you, fanny, but I'll tell you this: You're not alone. I figured out a while ago that I'm way more a "reward" eater than a "stress" or "depression" eater.

If anybody enjoys weird asian movies, I recently watched "Audition" (again). Very good, but one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen. In the same vein (weird asian movies), I also watched "Oldboy". Good movie....the netflix sleeve compared the director to Alfred Hitchcock, and I can see that.

PJTP: One of my patients last night was an old hippie that was high-yi-yi.....I almost got a contact buzz. On a more sad note, the sweetish odor of the pot mixed with the patchooli (sp?) she doused herself with was making me a little ill. On a lighter note, her unshaved armpits and legs (and I can only assume other parts) made me glad I wasn't a hippie in the late 60's / early 70's. Not that I would want to offend my non-shaving female friends. I understand for some it's a lifestyle choice.

I've been very slow losing lately (scale weight), but my body is changing. I can tell a little more muscle, a little less fat....my point is, I've been resisting getting fills for the last few visits, because I do feel better about myself when I feel like I'm doing a little more work than the band (or we're at least going Dutch). Yes!! Exactly what I was trying (and failing) to say above! If I look great at the beach, I don't care what the scale says. Hang in there, HF. Quit bringing me down, man! Or tuberculosis. As f'ed up as it is, she's still his mother. Most of us guys have a thing about our moms.

I agree too! I actually have no problem against very low / no taxes for the poorest among us, as long as they're working (when applicable).
