  1. Hi!! Is anyone getting banded in August? I'm getting banded August 1st. Maybe we can share our stories & successes and be there for each other if needed. Thanks!! Good luck to all!!
  2. That's awesome Jersey Boy! My last drs. appt is Thursday & then everything will be sent in for approval. Wish me luck!!
  3. Congrats on being approved!!! Good luck! :tt2:
  4. In my case, it's the insurance company that requires it, not the surgeon.
  5. I have Horizon BC/BS of NJ. I'm getting banded on 8/1 by Dr. Ewing from Hackensack Hospital. LOVE HIM!!! I used the Nutritionist they recommended (much easier that way) and she cost $100. I went for a Psych eval from a Psychiatrist and that cost $30.60 (after being submitted to ins). The surgery will be fully covered once it's approved, which hopefully be in the next few weeks. Please look into Lap-Band Associates in Hackensack, NJ. They are wonderful! They are a practice with 3 great doctors. Let me know how you make out!! Good luck!
  6. Thanks Tasha...I'll let you know how it goes. I'm hoping it's no big deal. If I could lose weight and keep weight off, would I need this surgery???
  7. That's AWESOME!! I'm happy for you!! Keep us posted...
  8. Was anyone denied for not losing weight (or gaining) on the insurance required 6 month docotor supervised diet? I am so concerned about this. I lost about 9 lbs the 2nd to 3rd month because I had my tonsills out but ever since then, I have been adding maybe 1-2 pounds a month. I may be exactly the same on my last appt. as I was on the 1st one, or maybe a few pounds more at the most. Will this be a problem???
  9. Hi! So far the journey has been good. I have only 1 drs appt left then the paperwork will be submitted. My surgeon is Dr. Ewing from Hackensack Hospital. He's a doll. I can't wait for this surgery to happen!! Can you give me a list of things I should have in the house for when I get home from the surgery?? Thanks!!!
