  1. Nazzy...I'm glad you called then!! Hopefully we'll have good news soon!!
  2. AWESOME!! I won't feel guilty for calling then!!
  3. Did anyone call the insurance company to check the status of their approval? My stuff was received on Monday & I SOOO want to call, but I don't want to be a pain in the ass. Did anyone call??
  4. Good Luck!! I'm waiting to be approved too. My paperwork was received on Monday, so hopefully I'll hear soon too! Keep me posted!
  5. Thanks Emily! I have bc/bs of NJ. I guess if I could keep my weight down, then I wouldn't need this surgery. I can't, so hopefully I'll be approved soon. This feeling of waiting is the WORST!!!
  6. I have a question...why does the ins co require a 5 year weight history? My surgeon's office sent my paperwork in & I'm waiting for an approval. I did ALL things required, including give the 5 yr weight history. The only thing that makes me nervous is that my 1st year of the 5 year history, I weighed about 47 lbs LESS than I do now, and my BMI was only about 33. My weight has gone steadily up since then, with me having a BMI of about 39.2 now and being on high blood pressure meds. Do you think that 1 year will hurt me? Do you think I'll still be approved?? :confused2:
  7. Good Luck Heather...I hope you get yor approval soon! I just spoke to my ins co & they have my paperwork & I'm waiting for my approval. Hopefully we'll both have good news soon!!
  8. Mine was submitted today and I'm waiting for approval too!! Good luck to you! I'll keep you in my prayers (please do the same!)!
  9. Thanks All! I'm trying to stay positive. Thanks for all your encouraging words & stories. I'll keep you posted!!
  10. Hi All!! I just wanted to tell my Lap-Band family that my paperwork is being submitted today for my 8/1 surgery. I just spoke to the nurse and she told me not to worry that all will be ok & my insurance company is pretty good as long as they have everything required (I have it all!)! PLEASE say a prayer for me that I get approved and that my nerves will subside until I do. I feel crazy!! Thanks for all your support...:tt1:
  11. Good luck to you too Nana!! Hopefully it will work out for both of us!!
  12. Thanks Ann! Please keep your fingers crossed for me!!
  13. I definitely agree better safe than sorry, but it just is so disappointing. I'm calling the drs office about noon Monday to get the results. If they are still high, I'll go everyday if I have to to get blood work done because since I've been on antibiotics since Thursday, they should definitely go down, right??? I even asked the dr if I had cancer, and she laughed at me. So I guess that's a good thing :tt2:
  14. I am SOOO upset. My surgery is scheduled for Aug 1st. I've done everything required & I'm so ready for this. I went to my PCP for my pre-op testing on Thursday. The bloodwork I did at the beginning to middle of June, (I had edema at the time, all gone now), was 14 and the max should be 10.5. No one ever called me from the drs office to tell me this (SO PISSED!). Anyway, she took new blood for my pre-op testing, but what if it's still high??? I'm hoping the June elevated white blood cells were from the edema in my legs. She put me on antibiotics for a sinus infection that I think I'm getting to be safe. What if the count is still up?? I need medical clearance by 7/17 & I am going on a cruise July 20th!!! I'll get the results Monday & hopefully they'll be ok. Please someone make me feel better & say they went through the same thing. I'm hysterical over this!!:tt2:
  15. I asked about a pre-op diet and the doctor said it wasn't necessary...so I'll follow that. Thanks for your concern!!
  16. Happy Birthday & Congratulations on your awesome weight loss!! You should be SO proud of yourself!!!:thumbup:
  17. I so happy & excited for ALL of us!! As far as my cruise goes, it's my last hoorah to food & overly expensive alcoholic drinks!!
  18. From experience I've learned that if you don't keep on top of the doctor's office, you'll wait forever to hear from them. I would wait no longer than Monday, & call back and ask lots of questions. I always write mine down before i call so i don't forget anything. Good luck & keep us posted!!
  19. My doctor says nothing about liver shrinking...that's weird. Oh well, I'm sure he knows what he's doing (I hope, HA!)!
  20. I am so happy for ALL of you (me too!)!We can start our new lives together! Just think, this time next year the clothes we're weraring now will be a distant though, and in my case, probably a car cover or bed spread! Ha!We have to keep in touch & encoirage each other!!
  21. I want to walk into a clothing department that doesn't say "PLUS" or "WOMEN'S"....
  22. Good luck!! You will do awesome!! Keep us posted!
  23. I'm leaving on July 20th too!!! Are you going on the Carnival Miracle???? That is SOOO funny!!
  24. That's so awesome!! My doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet of liquids or anything, so I'm just trying to work on not drinking with my meals (so hard!) and Chewing! Chewing! Chewing!! I'm actually going on a cruise 2 weeks before my surgery, so I'm kind of glad there is no pre-op diet...Ha! We can definitely support each other...I need all I can get!!
