You can having dumping with both. You can have sagging skin with both. You lose rapidly with both, but statistically more with bypass. I had the sleeve because I didn't want my intestines rearranged. I still feel hunger, which is disappointing, but I deal with it.
One big question / thought is that if you are relying on dumping and the surgery to make you make good choices, are you sure you're ready?

Thank you for giving me that information now my mind is at ease, I was just thinking it would effect my weight loss goals. I am glad you understood my question, I read the articles you provided very informative. I didn't have a clue about any of that, that's why it's wonderful too have this site for someone who have been in my shoes. Thank you very much!

There are different sizes because they use a tube to measure. It's some French measurement tool. Different doctors may have different preferences. Mine doesn't use the absolute smallest size because it would make the sleeve too small (in his opinion.)

The best hiccup advice I have ever heard was from a pharmacist. He said to blow out as much air as you can and, before breathing, take little sips of Water. Do this until you have to breathe. Repeat if necessary. It does need to be Water.< /p>

This challenge will run from 5-30-2016 through 7-11-16 (I didn't want to end ON the holiday). This will give us a total on 7 weigh ins. This is my first challenge as an organizer - so patience is appreciated! I am following the same logic as vsgSarah3 who has done a great job administrating up till now . I will do my best to post to the spreadsheet within 1 day of receiving your weight.
This challenge is for everyone. If you are pre op, post op, in maintenance or looking for some accountability; this challenge is for you! The rules and link to the spreadsheet are below!
Please respond to the post if you are interested and I will add your name to the spreadsheet.
Please Post Your Starting Weight (Weight on or around 5/30) and your Goal Weight (what you would like to weigh at the end of the 7 weeks) at the start of the challenge on 5/30 or before.

    Rules:

    1. Post your weight on this thread every Monday.

    2. If you change your screen name please let me know.
    3. If you miss 3 or more weigh ins, I will assume you no longer want to participate and your name will be removed from the spreadsheet.
    4. If you miss a weigh in, no problem. Just post it asap.
    5. We are all here to support each other, if you post a question anyone can answer.

    6. You will know your weight is updated on the spreadsheet once I've liked your post!

The link to the spreadsheet is below! Have fun, and good luck with this challenge!!!

autymn reacted to JupiterinVirgo in Five Months Progress with Pics
The last five months has most certainly been a roller coaster. It has felt harrowing at times. I under estimated the profound effect that losing weight would have on me. It is an intense process, staying present with my quickly changing body.
Things, things I have been hiding away under a lot of weight for many years rise to the surface to be processed as my fat cells break open on my body shrinks. Sadness I've held in my belly. Rage I wrapped around my hips. Grief that has laid heavy upon my chest. The peak of mountains in the landscape of my body just starting to show, formally submerged in a sea of fat. Instances of sudden ecstatic joy.
Glitches, and translating what I see in the mirror into what I remember of myself. The delay in processing real time changes in my body.
Yesterday, my family came to visit me. I hadn't seen some of them in a couple of months. They went on anon over hours of time and how astonish they were at my weight loss. They insisted on photographing me. And when I looked at the picture, that was the first time I actually saw that my body is starting to look like now. So I wanted to share.

Enjoy the time while food has no flavor. The more weight you lose in the beginning, the faster you get to goal. I am about 2.5 years post-op and I don't really care about food anymore, which is kind of a cool thing. I used to love sweets and while they are still ok, I rarely eat any because they just don't have the same comforting factor as before. When I eat Breakfast, it's granola because I need the carbs so I can go for a walk or a run. I don't really eat meals throughout the day, which I suppose isn't suggested, but around 2 when I start getting hungry, I have a turkey and cheese roll-up because the Protein is good for me and it fills me up. When I'm kind of hungry but don't really want anything to eat, I'll eat a handful of goldfish crackers because they give me some carbs, they taste good, and they are something to chew on. In general I have no real excitement for food anymore- it's just the fuel I use to make my body relatively happy. This has done great things for maintaining my loss and I am ok with giving up my love of food in exchange for a love of clothing.

Agree with above replies and had had similar experiences with flavors.
Not sure about C, whatever that is.
Flavor returns but I've found I'm much more picky about food. It's gotta be done right. I've never been someone who's been picky.....until now. I'm a harsh critic of my own grilling and even worse at restuarants. I want my six bites to be tasty.
I don't care for sweets at all anymore. I also can't stand overly salty foods. It's like I can bite into something now and almost give you its ingredient list and nutritional content....lol.
I'm glad for these flavor refinements and pleased that I have strong preferences for foods which are actually much more healthy than those I ate pre-sleeve.
    The new ways are better.
