To all the people in post op... what have you learned about your sleeve....

- i have learned (tonight)... don't let yourself get too hungry.. cause you will eat too fast and puke!

- i have learned that you do feel actual hunger

- i have learned that stalls do break

- i have learned that i really have more willpower than i thought

Are you drinking enough fluids... sometimes your body retains Water if you are dehydrated... check the color of your pee... if its darker than the color of a baby chicken... you are dehydrated..

Don't get the band!!!!!!!!!! i had the band for 6 years... lost weight.. got to goal and maintained for 5
I had complications during the last year and had it removed after 12 months.
Basically, during the 12 months after i got it removed i gained weight.. a lot... i was really eating well.... exercising.. the works.. tried everything .. yet was still gaining weight.
I went to see the doctor and they said i had reset my resting metabolic rate to quite low...from all the complications from the band.
so they suggested i get weight loss surgery as my body doesn't function on the higher calories.
I had the sleeve done... and ive lost 22 pounds this month...
I was considered a success as i lost all my excess weight.. but this was from starvation.. food would get stuck.. id have to get a fill unfill constantly...
Now that i have the sleeve.... the sleeve is so so so much better... you feel restriction but its a comfortable restriction compared to the painful restriction with the band....
Please please please don't get it..... go for the sleeve or bypass

I think my best experience was this girl at uni who would constantly make comments about my weight... back then i was really big and had no self esteem so i wouldn't say anything because I didn't want to be left out of the group.
I finished uni and didnt keep in contact with her... i had my band and lost all my weight... i ended up bumping into her and she didn't recognise me!
The icing on the cake was she had GAINED so much weight she was literally my initial size!!!
That was the most gratifying situations ive encountered to date. .. i normally wouldn't be satisfied with someone's misfortune. ... but in this instance i was like.... karma is a b!tch and so was she lol

Now that ive calmed down a little... its actually sad.. that we as a society are so focused on size.... yes i am chubby... but for a fatty... i can outrun any of my little tiny friends at the gym... im active and confident... thankfully... so to be judged is kinda annoying

Well... to make my day better... a lady that i see on the train home from work actually came up to me and said that i am looking good.. so that made me feel a little better...
I know ive only lost a small amount of weight but it shows fairly quickly on me.. so yay me...

Its like .... what!!! No way! I never knew i was overweight.. i got my stomach cut off because i thought i was thin! I dieted for years because i was bored! I have spent the last month eating like a mouse because i have nothing better to do!
I had the sleeve 4 weeks ago... and finally it is starting to show physically.. so i was feeling so good about myself.. until BAM!
Some idiot at work felt the need to mention that i was "chubby" and that i am lucky i don't hurt myself.
Mind you i am 5'7" and 216 pounds.. and a size 14... i thought i hold my weight really well.... even my surgeon said i don't look what i weigh...
I just wanted to punch this guy in the face.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
