Question for the Dr. Lang patients. ..
I am going to switch from sleeve to bypass.
In all my meetings with her we've only discussed the sleeve but after doing more research and thinking long term I feel that the full bypass will be my best option.
Did she reccomend sleeve for you all as well and what made you choose bypass?

I just had mine done on Tuesday morning by Dr. Rameriaz. Home the next day and have been making great progress.

Had an interesting day yesterday. Good gym session in the late morning.....good grub at my favorite local spot......and then home to see my son off for the first day on his new job. He's finishing his junior year of high school this week and has done really well. Started driving this year....supercool girlfriend and now he's gonna be working for the summer. Cool little wing joint (best teriyaki wings I've ever had......need to duplicate their sauce one day). He was peeved when I took his hat. lol.
The weight related NSV aspect of this was that I'm wearing a new 2XL shirt in the pics. Took it out of the package and put it on. No pre-stretching of torso section as I used to do in the old days........pretty dang cool when I consider the fact that I was wearing 6XL shirts 7 months ago. Pretty dang cool.

Another one with a Garmin Vivosmart HR. I swapped over from the fitbit and have never looked back. Totally waterproof and it adjusts your totals to keep you challenged. If you are consistently smashing 10K steps, it will adjust your targets upwards. If you do less than 10K, it will meet you where you are. Absolutely love it

Sure feels good to get away from 6XL shirts.

YES! I buy everything except socks and underwear on EBAY -- and am fully wardrobed from farm clothes to dress clothes, all of about 25 cents on the dollar.... makes my thrifty nature feel great

So I'm sitting here on the couch watching the Saturday morning news (Living the dream, I know)...

I am now T-minus 4-5 weeks till surgery!!!
Met the surgeon today, they are sending all my paperwork to the insurance company and we will have that back in 2 weeks, then another week and a half or two till surgery!!
Loved seeing him and when he asked if I had any questions and concerns about the operation. I told him that I've already watched the entire procedure on YouTube 3 times and know what to expect afterwards. That I'm not afraid and ready to go.
He said he only wished he had more folks who had done their homework.
I was in and out of his office in 10 minutes.
Dammit that was easy!
After the insurance comes back I'll have the endoscopy and sonagram but other than that it is all good to go!!
I can't wait to melt away!

I had a revision to bypass and I am so damn happy about it!!!

Get rid of the Doctor...I demanded the bypass .I have to much weight to lose to screw around!!Best thing I ever did!

That's great Dub! In July I have to order work shirts. they order twice a year. I will just have to guess at sizes I think, and if they get too big, well. they'll have to be good enough until I can get more! it's a good problem to have.

We are required to wear one of several styles of company-logo shirts at work.
One of the styles is a short sleeve polo made of the newer high-tech cool feeling fabrics....similar to say a Under Armour styled polo.
Since my sleeve surgery I have gravitated towards this style of shirt. I have had to downsize them a few times since then, too.
I ordered the next size down and received them about two weeks ago, before taking some time off for vacations. Began wearing them this first weekend back at work. First night I felt the new size may be fitting a bit snug...fast forward to the third night at work...last night. I get home from work this morning and happened to see myself in the mirror and was thinking that I must have worn the larger size that night. Pulled the shirt off and check the label......nope...it was the new smallest size. Bamsucka.
Time to order some more in the next size down. Downward and downward...........

Last weekend I visited Hersheypark in PA. I went in every single coaster. Easily.
Last year on one of them, the attendant had to come push down on the restraints to get me in and I was mortified and it was heartbreaking to me (we have season passes, so it was a lot of bench sitting while my family was in line/on rides) I LOVE coasters
Anyway last weekend, and 81 lbs less, I got back in line FIRST for that one that I was so embarrassed on last summer. Walked on. EASILY got restraints on place and had a blast. I felt amazing and my teenage kids were beside themselves happy that I could go with them again.
I'm over the moon. What a difference in only 6 months!!! Best decision I ever made for myself.

I learned a while back to request a preop sedative like Valium.
Every surgeon I've asked this of granted my wish.
I'd get one to take before leaving the house and one to take upon arrival .
Sure makes it a much more pleasant and relaxing preop session.

lookie here! I have a neck! one thing about being heavy that bothered me was my neck. :-) and I'm just getting started. probably not the most flattering picture, sorry for the view up me nose........... but what's that amongst friends? I am so excited.

Wearing out younger and skinnier family members during workouts and hikes.

Oh, and we ended up at Six Flags on a whim and I didn't even think twice about getting on any of the rides, even though they had the fat girl warnings.

Just a note to say that after 120lbs lost things are very different. I'm like a new man. I'd say 3" difference.
