Hello all! My name is michelle im 43 married 2 times then met the most awsome man (on the internet !) about 10 years ago he moved to michigan from wisconsin 9 years ago to be with me . we have 7 children all together ages 31 29 22 19 16 16 14 im a stay at home mom (that is going to change really quick) kids are older now so no need for me to be home all the time besides it is really getting boring only so many toilets and so much laundry to do ! Thinking of going back to school for law enforcement forensics! I was always the curvy girl in jr high and high school not big but nick name was bubble butt and fish tank and thunder thighs you get the picture! then i had my second son and BAM 80 pounds gained i had gestational diabeites then 3 months later in hospital for heart attack and stroke caused by graves diease.. Had to have radiation and it killed off my thyroid! weight has been a struggle ever since . 4 years ago i was at 378 i got so mad and said thats it! i watched every thing that went in my mouth . i managed to lose 163 pounds on my own but just could never get past 215 ! i had heard about lap band and did research on it talked to my dr and one of my friends but chickened out only to find out 3 months later that my friend got so interested in it she had it done ! she looked amazing. so got on phone called dr got things rolling ( thank god for good insurance) and here i am 6 weeks out doing good down to 186 was 180 but gained 6 pounds back i need a fill ! which was suppose to be today but NOOOOO they called and cancelled so i go friday! Thats me in a nut shell and i hope i can do this ! maybe with all the support here and from honie (who just thinks im so brave for doing this) I CAN MAKE IT!:biggrin1:

I also smoke but tried to cut way down before surgery cause of the anistetic (spell check) but i was bad and about 6 hours after surgery i was out side in thesmoking tent ! I can tell you one thing it did bother me after wards th coughing part . i try to quit all the time one of these times ill do it! my dr never said it would effect my band but did say YOU SHOULD QUIT!:rolleyes

It is soooooo bad it is a deep fried patstry kinda like a dougnut but soo much better! filled to the rim with gooy stuff. us polish have it for fat tuesday before lent :hungry:

:faint: WHY DID I GIVE IN?? WHY DID I EAT IT ??? AND THE WHOLE THING??? I HATE PACZKI DAY ! they are tradition here just like from now on fridays are fish fry days:hungry: in my family. i was doing so good too . well tomarrow is another day and ill jump back on the band wagon ! wonder if there is pzczki flavored water with out the sugar???

well seeing that im up at 6 30 maybe ill have a boost just to get something in :confused: today im struggling with not eating a Paczki .....:hungry:tradition at our house! and they smell soo darn good .. i did really good the last few weeks up till this last weekend and bam something went nuts (me) i have gained back 6 pounds so far thank goodness i go tomarrow hopefully i will get a little restriction i know it takes a few fills but i wouldnt mind just a little!!!!!!!!

ok i go at 9 am for my first fill ! am i suppose to not eat? no one said anything and office isnt open today to ask looked thru my instructions and nothing about fills other than you get them! :help:

:help: I have a question im 5 weeks post op doing well hungry but surviving ! My question is after surgery i had a bad sore throat well it doesnt hurt any more but my voice is very husky now and i can feel the coolness of the water but i cant feel the wetness? also i cant seem to yell .. say im yelling down the stairs answering someone it seems i cant get but a whisper out??? has this happened to any one else??? Ok im going on my 4th week hunger is minimal no biggie im still on mushies ..Drinking good My thing is i still have a lot of pain i have been walking but about an hour after i hurt soo bad feels like i just had surgery! also i have 2 incisions that are opened and oozing YES the dr has seen them and told me to put poroxide and sporn on them 3 times a day and i have but they arent getting any better! i go tomarrow for another look see. i dont work but i have a family of 7 kids 4 who live here the rest come and go on a daily baisis i never know who is here for dinner or laundry ! Keeping up this house has been very hard by 3 im so tired and i move so slow its falling apart in front of my eyes! So i was wondering if any one else had felt this bad this far out??? Its hard to bend.. hard to get up out of a chair or bed and it feels like a hot knife is being poked into my insides!

All this chatting about sex and well now im honry ! TMI i know but damit i am its been 2 weeks i forgot to ask dr if i could hmm maybe i should call him and ask (wont tell him im horny though )

I cant seem to get the icky from the tape off i have tried everything im ready for goo gone LOL and no i dont hate you i can get my jeans on its just that my port is to the left of my belly button and a few inches higher so my jeans sit right on it and its still looks like it has a baseball under there!

Just wondering how long did it take most of you to get rid of the swelling in the tummy mostly by the port?? It looks like im prego! im soo tired of wearing sweats i feel like an ad for nike or something! went to my post appt and all is good i do have a bit of infection in one of my smaller incisions but no biggie dr says ...i just do poroxide and sporn seems a bit less red today and stopped oozing ...yeah! When i started this i was at 215 i know it isnt really big but for me it was making life miserable im only 5 2 and a quater Have diabeties and high blood pressure so far im down to 178 and that is with liquid diet before surgery so im very pleased also im down to 20 units of insulin instead of 80 ! Also started walking today i went 2 miles OMG im :faint: Right now i just soo want to put a pair of jeans on !

Ok so its a few days after and the tightness is GONE! guess it was just gas im doing good had my first real food i had cream of wheat but i could only eat about half of it i dont know if its that im not hungry or im scared to eat ! i was on post op diet 2 times first time i made it to day 9 and my operation was moved so i had to do it again cause it was a few weeks later . i am drinking my protien weyh stuff but i have to make it warm or it taste gross thank you for all your support and replies ! michelle

not sure if im replying right we will see but i called the dr and he said the same thing that it was gas under diaphram told me to take extra gas ex which i have and out a heatin gpad on my chest which i did and boy am i tooting LOL and its claming down a bit he also gave me his home phone # in case it didnt feel any better ! Thank you for your post i love it here i check in every day and have for a while now jsut reading the post and the answers has helped me thru the pre and the post of this journey! :help: I have been around for a while but i never post jsut lurk i was banded on 1-18-06 and everything seems ok so far except that i have this very tight feeling in my chest its like a vise grip sometimes and other times its very small. Is this normal after surgery? gas pains were so so but just about gone! im not hungry i try to get food down some yougert jello boost but not much i just cant with this tightness in my chest any suggestions or infor would be awsome! michelle

Well i was all set to go intoday or tomarrow but insurance comapny at last min sent in a denial on the grounds that Because my doctors office burnt to the ground with every ones records i have no paper trail for the last 5 years let alone 12 months so it is up to me to go back to all my old insurances and get any kind of records i can get my hands on ... my doctor wrote the insurance company a letter stating that he has been my doctor for the last 5 years and everything he has seen and taken care of me for but i guess it fell on def ears! as of jan 1st i again will have a new insurance company i guess i will try again with the new one and see what happens.. right now im so depressed and dicouraged -my SO says no worries honie lets pretend you got it done and follow the bandster rules together he is so sweet ... so untill i get this resolved that is what we plan to do i have been on liquids for 2 weeks and have lost 15 pounds i got rid of my diet coke addiction almost quit smoking down to 4 a day and i really dont have the hunger pains any more he has been a life saver i met him on net a few years ago and in that time have lost on my own 130 pounds but stayed there for the last 2 years but no more lost till now so maybe this is the kick in the ass i needed and with him in my life now maybe i can make it! and keep it off . my life is so different now then it was before i have things to look forward to and have been so happy it is almost sick LOL yeah i have health problems but maybe with this board and his help i can really beat this ! thsank you for all your support thru this and maybe one day i can really be a memeber! huggs michelle

went in for my first office visit with loads of paper work i hand this morning and they are soo nice there!!!!!!!!!!!!! they called insurance got pre oth and they were faxing the whole thing as i was leaving i was approved my date is the 14th of dec he is lettting me get in as soon as possible because my dedtuctabe is met for this year and is going way up next year ! what a sweat heart! i cant tell you how excited i am ! i start liquid diet tomarrow so hubby says what ya want for last supper LOL I WANT BUFFET! michelle
