Post Op Question!

:help: I have a question im 5 weeks post op doing well hungry but surviving ! My question is after surgery i had a bad sore throat well it doesnt hurt any more but my voice is very husky now and i can feel the coolness of the water but i cant feel the wetness? also i cant seem to yell .. say im yelling down the stairs answering someone it seems i cant get but a whisper out??? has this happened to any one else???

It may be a reaction to the anethesia (sp)... or they may have bruised something during the surgery (I know Mikey was tough to intubate... he was hoarse & sore for days).

5 weeks seems a long time for a bruise to improve though, you might run it by your surgeon or primary care doc... they can check your throat & see if it's red or something.

Ok, so I don't really have a clue, lol, but it seems too close to the surgery to not have its origin there.

I would have that checked out. Mine was kinda sore for 2 days but has since gone away. 5 weeks is a long time, call your doc!!! Good luck!
