@krakow57, it's even closer if you say "one moon away."

Biting my tongue before I get myself kicked off of BP for being "mean"! Attention seeking behavior drives me mad!

@Christinamo7 In this case - not worth it. Would be rewarding the behavior!

Then don't let it get to you. A support group type message board environment is the exact platform for attention-seeking behavior. Make no mistake that until you have your surgery, you cannot imagine some of the things you will go through. Some of these people are under stress they've never encountered, with hormones raging and God knows what else. So don't tell me that you have empathy for them. What you have is SYMPATHY. I admire your passion for helping others, so don't let it get you down. If you let it get to you, they have accomplished exactly what you are venting about. Take care. My best to you.

BP has become more and more annoying and not at all informative, educational or supportive!

Day 1 of my pre-op liquid diet! Pre-admission testing done this morning! It's starting to feel like this actually may be happening!
-
Deleted my status so I don't get in trouble by the BP Gods! But seriously - enough is enough!

Got my blood work results from the phlebotomist at work - now I have to sit and wonder what they mean! I should have just waited until the Dr. called me or my pre-op appointment but I was too curious!

Most are good - there's an issue with my TIBC, C Reactive Protein and and MPV. Triglycerides up slightly and so is glucose - but that's usual for me. Actually - triglycerides are down from last year. I have a cervical disk issue and pinched nerve in neck - hoping that's the cause of the C Reactive Protein.

I just almost jumped my co-worker for a piece of pizza! lol Day 4 pre-op liquids underway!

lol @KristenLe. I relate, watching my hubby order Pizza Hut during my liquid phase drove me crazy. I craved pizza so much back then that I'm still attached to the Cauliflower pizza recipe.

I never imagined cottage cheese could taste so good! :-)

I wish I was from the South and could just say "Bless Your Heart" to some people. Unfortunately, as a New Englander - I'm more likely to say "F*** Off B****" and end up in trouble!

Thank you so much Valentina! I appreciate that compliment. I have only been seriously researching WLS for about 2-3 months. As you can tell - I've drowned myself with information. I have learned over the years that "snarky" doesn't get your point across. :-) Although - I'm damn snarky in my mind sometimes. lol

I'm doing good with my fluids (can drink almost normal sips) but not so good with protein. Sending the SO to get something else I can try for protein. The protein shakes aren't cutting it - and Atkins LIft (my backup plan) is nasty!

@TracyBar I didn't post anything much. Everything went well - was in hospital longer than expected due to nausea and not being able to keep anything down. Came home Friday (surgery was Tuesday). I had very little pain except when I first woke up from anesthesia. The nausea was much worse and I would have preferred pain. I'm doing pretty good so far - just a week out. I'm more tired today than the previous few days having no problems sleeping (on my side or stomach). Getting in plenty of fluids - able to take normal sips. The protein shakes are not going down easily though. I'm on mushy foods starting tomorrow so looking forward to that. My follow-up with surgeon is tomorrow too. He told me that my stomach was extremely stretched (actually plopped over my spleen and required 6 incisions during surgery) so that surgery should definitely be very effective.

I'm finding the need to use my favorite saying ..."If you try to be smarter then I'll try to be nicer"!
-
I'm sure I'll be hating them a few days into my pre-op diet but I have to say... Bariatric Fusion protein powder with skim milk is the best I've tried so far!

@Christinamo7 Thanks for thinking about me. My pre-op diet officially starts tomorrow. :-)
-
I've been very nice so far but I'm getting a little pissed off at my Program for not having their acts together and ordering my pre-op testing! I want this done!
-
Just had about 10 vials of blood drawn for pre-op! One step closer...

Here's the bad news.......those 10 to 13 vials of blood.....that is what they pull from you after 3,6,12,18 and then every 12 months after. I just had them done and my insurance denied paying for it. 3K!!!!! Of course I am fighting them on this but I was shocked to see how much having these labs costs.
Best of luck on getting your date! I hope it is soon for you! Congratulations!

Last day of work before surgery!!! It's hard to believe it's almost time!
-
Move over Losers .... make room for me on the bench!!! I'll be there tomorrow! :-) Good luck to all the 18th folks!!!

@KristenLe Just checking up on you. How you doing? Hope you're doing good. ^^
-
My requirements are complete - insurance approval is next! I don't want to wish the Summer away but I can't wait to be sitting on the loser's bench!
-
My Upper GI ruined me for strawberry shakes! That nasty sludge they make you drink has a slight strawberry flavor / smell and now that's all I think of when I drink a strawberry protein shake! :-(

@Valentina My surgeon doesn't do the leak test unless there are problems! woohoo!!! I gotta say that made my day! I've been dreading that more than anything
-
One more week before my pre-op liquids only diet starts! Yikes!
-
One week to go... It seems surreal!!!
-
Only have 50 lbs to lose - gets WLS and is now eating ice cream 2 weeks post-op because it's the only thing they can keep down! WTF!
-
People need to get a clue - not all advice or suggestions are going to be wrapped up in a pretty bow! Not everyone should get a trophy!!!
-
Pre-Op appointment with the surgeon tomorrow - fingers crossed I get a surgery date and it's within a few weeks!
