funke4real reacted to taracutch in Did I actually have surgery?
She's absolutely right. I actually felt as if l never had the surgery for a few months. I could eat whatever l wanted, no nausea or dumping. I figured out that the trick is dense Protein and no drinking for an hour. Now l can barely eat anything. I'm 4 months out and down 50 pounds which is really good considering l was a lower bmi (38) to begin with. My surgeon said I'm way ahead of schedule. The food slides right through if it's soft or if you drink and add liquid to it so it goes right through your system and doesn't give you a full feeling. If you want more info fb friend request me. Pre op was much harder than post op. I've managed to be pretty rock solid at post so far. I am 11 days out.

    BEST THING IVE EVER DONE!!
I am addicted to moving now. I can't stop, I don't wanna just sit around and stuff my face and be sad for myself, it was tough in the beginning, I threw up if i ate too fast, or drank to quickly.
The whole, no drinking while eating before and an hour after was tough for me.
I'd eat dinner, and then I'd want to go to the gym, but I HAVE to drink while I work out, so then had to wait an hour before i went.
I just had a lil period of time management struggles haha.
But I figured it all out, the first 3 months are a challenge. But I walked EVERYDAY. Even if it was slowly. Then every day got easier, everyday I got stronger. Felt better, didn't hurt when I took a step. Now, with what my fit bit tells me... I'm walking about 8-10 miles a day!
I also work in a hospital, so I'm not at a desk, so I'm lucky.
After surgery I walked the mall cause of all the snow we had, then as it got nice I walked outside, now people actually know me at the gym!!!
I was ashamed to walk in the gym and I had a hard time walking through the doors, I felt like people were staring at me (they are NOT) haha
And I still even now get nervous walking in, but then I hear,
"hey Katie!! Your here early today!!"
And I just get on the elliptical and go to town!!!!
Anyone that has a Fitbit pm me!!
I'm obsessed with mine!! Feel free to ask me anything! I'm here if anyone needs anything!

Oh okay. Yea my Nutrition class I had told me what type of Vitamins to get.. No Gummy or women's.. Not enough nutritional value and to much sugar. Centrum 50+ is what I use. I used to use the chewable ones but ugh those were nasty. I take Calcium B12 and B1. I didn't start til after surgery. My pre op diet was a little hard but I managed because if they saw a gain.. You wouldn't qualify for the surgery.

I am out of surgery and doing well. The pain meds are wonderful so I am not experiencing much pain. No nausea, I asked for the patch. I love the ice chips, I just tried to walk to the bathroom and got really dizzy, I need to take it slower. The staff here at Kiaser are amazing!

@@funke4real I have several friends who have had their surgeries with Dr. Kligman! I almost did my surgery there, but decided on Dr. Tran in DC. I've heard that he has a sort of bad bedside manner, but is a VERY good surgeon, as is his partner (I cannot remember her name though). However, I would NOT recommend their plastic surgery, as my friend did not have a very good experience.
    Good luck!
