Chaelove0810 got a reaction from PepperCat in Gastric Sleeve to Bypass revision
My name is Michaela I am 29 I am considering getting a revision to the gastric bypass.

I had the sleeve exactly 3 years ago. I am 5’4 at my heaviest I was 272 and got down to 174 now I’m back up to 222. I am super depressed because I don’t know how I let this get this bad.

I’m looking for stories of people who have had this revision and what made them decided to do it and how much the have lost so far. Also people who are looking into getting the surgery and what made you decide to look into it.

I had the sleeve for 3 years before my revision. I lost twenty lbs initially then re-gained 60 lbs. There was no restriction at all. I also developed Barrett's Esophagus from the gerd. Since getting the revision in December, I have lost 42 lbs and the reflux is gone. Don't hesitate to do it.

Many on here have and I'm sure you can too. You may have to fight a battle more than once to win the war. But it can be done, go and consult with your bariatric surgeon, he or she will help you search your options.

I appreciate everyones feedback. Some of the responses came off a little abrasive but i can take it . Let me make it clear that im not trying to be "skinny" im trying to be healthy and i want to learn to love myself. I personally dont want to be down to 120 lbs because i wont be comfortable. My goals are my goals whether im no where near skinny or im still considered obese. I came on this site for support and to share my thoughts and to get positive feed back and have another support system outside of my family because they dont understand it the others who are going through it would understand. This is all new to me even tho its been a year im still trying to figure it all out

Yes 33 lbs in 7 weeks is pretty amazing .. i also had a couple stalls in the very beginning but i was also really constipated ALL THE TIME (sorry TMI), it started to discourage me so i stopped weighing myself every day .. i notice it always seems to work its self out . But you are doing an amazing job keep it up !!

My kidney doctor told me that black people have more muscle mass than whites. You are so right about you do you. I have had the same experience with naysayers. Be true to yourself and aim for healthy.

I am only able to drop weight if I eat clean and exercise. 100% of the food and at least 4 days a week exercise. I have battled weight all my life. Diets are sucessful if you follow them but it is harder to keep it off than it is to get it off. Sad but true.

Well some people are bigger boned than others. Ways you can tell is hand and wrist size. I have seen fatties with petite little hands and tiny wrists say big boned and I just smile inside. People always guess me 15 to 20 lbs lighter than I am. I have really big shoulders, did have big boobs but had them reduced. Im too old to be packing around double D's. Good luck to you in your Quest for being healthy and eating clean. The battle is never won. Its a struggle all your life. I had a bad year and am up27 lbe. Back at the battle again. If I dont get control l am up to 300 again in a heartbeat.

My doctor told me not to go below 170 and Im 5 ft 1 inch. Fat by weight standards. Down from a 26 to a 14. Im healthy and did feel good until I gained more weight. Now Im battling that. Healthy is what Im going for. Been big all my life. I dont feel I am meant to be skinny.

I don't lose weight rapidly but my body keeps getting slimmer. I'm in a size 12 now and haven't lost a single lb yet I was a size 14 2 weeks ago. lol!

Mine is slow and steady but my body is changing more rapidly.

Hi. Thanks for posting this. I'm about 7 weeks out and have been stalled for the last two weeks. I am at 32-33 lbs lost. I have tried upping my calories a little for a few days and then back to my normal daily intake. Just keep bouncing around 32-33 lbs lost. I was walking but having a little issue with my knees when walking. I ordered stationary bike that is supposed to be low impact on the knees. Did anyone else notice a stall at 7 weeks? Seems like this would be too soon.

I didn't notice a stall at 7 weeks because I wasn't weighing myself daily, or even weekly. It's hard to notice stalls when you weigh in no more than once a month.
By the way, it took me an entire 3 months to lose 33 pounds. You accomplished that in less than 7 weeks so you are still doing well. Keep up the good work.

Sleevers can continue surgery related weight loss for about 1.5 years. After that it'll be up to you, but doable.
    You are doing great!

Congratulations on the 83 pound weight loss I am 9 months post op and was 263 when I started my journey and today 185 (78 pounds), but I have noticed it coming off slower now also.

I had lost exactly 79.5 pounds at one year post-op. I weighed 218 on surgery day, and on my one-year sleeve anniversary I weighed 138.5 pounds.
It took me approximately 17 months to lose 100 pounds. Yes, I was a slower loser. However, a slow and steady pace is still capable of achieving the goal. Good luck to you.

Ummm Snatched! Give me that body I'll be killing it! Omg you look amazing and congratulations on your success.. I'm pre op and girl if I have results like you, I would be truly blessed.. you look good!!!

And another thing about this site.. some things you have to take with a grain of sand. . I think people read these threads with no regard, quick to want to correct and dictate. Knowing damn well we have all crossed these hurdles one way or a other.

Yes of course. Everyone has a set point that their body wants to be. People are made in a wide variety and there is no reason to try and be super skinny!!! Focus on getting to a place you are comfortable.
Then again people will say all sorts of stupid ****. My mom once told me I'm not meant to have thin thighs. Well, now I have a thigh gap! So there mom.
Our bodies can change dramatically through weight loss. Everyone, and I mean everyone, can get skinny under the right conditions. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are healthy.
Your ideal set point weight is probably whatever weight you were BEFORE you began dieting and most effortlessly in your life. For many that is your weight in your late teens.
For me this was about 130. I'm 5'6.

Wow. Yes all people are not
Suppose to be skinny . Your biology has a lot to do with it. There is a huge difference in being morbidly Obese and just overweight. I know genetically thin people! The east what they want and never gain. Then some of us store everything as fat. I tell the story of my cousins. 2 natural one adopt until they got to there 20'. They looked so much alike skinny, blond. Now years later. Adopted child tall thin blond. The other 2 are quite heavy. Same house, food etc.
