judymcd69 got a reaction from DSLdiversity in 3 Month Sleeve-versary
.........;Hi Miss. I am 4 months & 50 lbs and quite happy. I am very active socially....eating out and with friends homes is challenging but completely do-able because I can only eat 2-3 tablespoons of whatever. I avoid carbs & sugars totally. I think that is the secret to this whole thing....plus some exercise. I do the gym thing 2-3 times a week only (chair aerobics & stationary bike ). At age 74 I am pretty sure that's enough considering both my knees have been replaced.. I have great support and encouragement from both friends and family. ... Good luck to you.

My NP suggested similar. She said if you can't scoop it with a spoon, it's not soft.
I eat good quality hot dogs all the time now, but didn't start until 8 or so months out. No bun, though!! It's the perfect portion size for meas a complete meal, they are tasty and can be cooked in 30 seconds in the microwave. Perfection.

judymcd69 reacted to SalOdyssey in Liquid Protein Variety...
Hello all,
As someone who will be post-op soon, I figured rather than have it scattered over multiple threads, why don't we list all the various Protein drinks, waters, powders, etc that you've had and give your opinion on them.
I just recently tried Atkins Lift Lemon Flavored, and found it pretty good. I like my drink a little sweeter, so I added a little Crystal Lite Lemonade mix to it. Quiet refreshing! On a 1-5 scale 4.5.
So what Protein Drinks or waters, etc have you had?

judymcd69 got a reaction from theladyslipper in 5 months post-sleeve tomorrow & down 80lbs
What a fabulous and inspiring message you have shared with us. It has really lifted my spirits although I stay in high spirits. Like you...I enjoy a super social active lifestyle with many friends and family and it's so easy to adapt our habits to fit the occasion without blowing it. We signed on for this great new way of life and it is truly great. And yes by getting the Proteins and the liquids we can write our own ticket. I am only 3 months & 42 lbs out but know I will reach your level soon. Thanks again for the inspiration.

I'm the calmest, most centered man ever to exist, so I don't yell...
Plus, I don't have kids...
Do you want me, for the sake of science, to come around and yell at yours?
It'd be weird at first, but I'm sure we'd all get used to it quickly...
Have a think...
Let me know...

Well.......I do seem to remember when I was a kid, my mom used to come in my bedroom and when she saw the mess, she would say "you make me sick" ...............could be the same thing.....

judymcd69 got a reaction from lsubabe33 in Revision
I had revision on March 2nd and all is well actually couldn't be better. I've had a couple of stalls which was to be expected but things are moving in the right direction now....32 lbs down in all . I feel great and recommend the procedure to anyone that had no success with the lap band. I see you are Louisiana like me........my clinic is in Lafayette and am very pleased with them. Good luck.

At 5 weeks, it's common not to be sure if you are full. You should be measuring your food and eating on a schedule, not relying on "full" signals just yet.

judymcd69 reacted to theladyslipper in I finally hit the 100's!
So thrilled to be back in the 100's...even if it's 199!
I'm around 3 1/2 months & have lost nearly 70lbs. So thankful for this procedure & my new lifestyle that it brought about.

judymcd69 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Newby
I am 74 and am 6 weeks post-op with absolutely NO PROBLEMS or complaints. Unlike many others I have had NO pain or swallowing issues and continue with 70+ Proteins and gallons of Water. I'm trying to be creative with foods & menus now which is challenging. All will be worth it in the end . Good luck.....age is only a number !!!!

judymcd69 got a reaction from MBP in What is your favorite pureed food?
Refried Beans from a can is good......make sure to buy a brand name. I nuke and mash cauliflower and enjoy that. You'll find your faves but stay away from carbs. Good luck.

Can you have a clear Protein Drink, like Isopure (yuck but it might be filling), Unjury chicken Soup flavor Protein, or Syntrax Nectar?

judymcd69 got a reaction from Ashoryb in Gallbladder removal same time as VSG
Yes..........mine was removed during sleeve surgery as well as major hernia repair and lapband removal.. As far as pain and complications....I have had none other than certain foods going straight through me. I mainly refer to one of my faves...Greek yogurt. I may be eating too fast and will discuss this with my PA soon. I am curious as to who else has had these same issues. Please reply if you have. TKS

judymcd69 reacted to FocusOnMeNow in 6 weeks post-op
Maybe you could but why would you want to? I am 8 months out and technically can eat anything I want. I have had cake and then wanted to fall asleep because that is what carbs do to me... They are my poppy field and I don't really want to be under their influence ever again.

judymcd69 reacted to mia150 in Giving up the scale...
I kind of gave up my scale a week ago because I was depressed and angry against almost every thing, and everyone ???? so I promised I'll weigh my self once a week (Mondays ONLY) just out of curiosity thats all because I came into a conclusion that if we took this surgery to be healthy then this should be our main focus.
