Pipergurl got a reaction from AliMiles in Just got revision from sleeve to bypass!
I am only 5 months out from gastric sleeve. I go on Tuesday for revision to gastric bypass. I'm very nervous. I had surgery in the summer so I didn't have to miss work (I'm a teacher). Unfortunately, with an hourglass stricture and a pouch above it holding my food, I am throwing up undigested food. I'm freaking out about the recovery. I only plan to take a week off of work because I'm still a newer teacher without a lot of leave. The note my doctor gave me to bring in states 2-6 weeks. Ugh! I had no pain after sleeve. They said it should be a similar recovery. It wasn't for you guys? We need our own forum for sleeve to bypass!!!

Pipergurl reacted to SybrgreenTX in Pregnant!
It might just be too soon to see the baby yet. Hopefully that's the case. I got pregnant about 7 month after my surgery and although my baby was tiny (4lbs 8oz) he is perfectly healthy and growing like a weed. I only gained 5 lbs during my pregnancy and lost 20 immediately after delivery. I hope all goes well with your pregnancy. Good luck and congratz!

Pipergurl reacted to SpecialK in 9 years out and still going!
St Patrick's Day was my surgery date so I'm always celebrating on this day. Today I finished a 4 Miler walk and I'm tired but logged more than 17,500 steps on my FitBit today. I often wonder how others I felt so much support from on this group. I'm down 95 lbs from my starting weight so that is great to still say but I've got about 40 lbs to get to the lowest weight I had achieved in 2010. At that point several things drove me back to some bad eating habits but I feel back in control now. Using WW for weekly accountability weigh ins.
I asked my surgeon why the lapband fell out of favor and he said slips and other reasons that many had been converted to gastric sleeve or RNY so he's glad I'm still working it!
Any of you convert from lapband to other procedure? Which did you choose and why?
Best wishes to all the Shrinking Shamrocks of March 2008!

Pipergurl reacted to KerryRNY04162015 in PCOS LADIES Getting pregnant post op
I've been on BC since a month after surgery so I don't know if I'm regular because of that. My surgeon said its recommended to wait 12 months post op to get pregnant but he said its safe to get pregnant 6-8 months post op because the majority of the weight loss has happened. However I'm not rushing either I want to make sure I'm healthy enough for a baby and I'm only 3.5 months post op and I'm still learning to eat again. It's just exciting that it can happen around this time. I've been through a lot and this is what the recommended me to get done in order to have better odds of getting pregnant. So I'm hopeful :-). I just wasn't sure if ladies with PCOS could get pregnant around 200. I was thinking it would be closer to 150 for the cycle to be normal again.

One of my dear friends had RNY Surgery over 7 years ago and had PCOS. She and her husband had never had a positive pregnancy test in ten years of marriage. After WLS she was able to get pregnant with their daughter.

Pipergurl reacted to OutsideMatchInside in Anyone tried stomach taping or bandaging?
I use duct tape all the time.Mainly I tape my boobs so I can wear backless dress. Plebty of thin women tape it is a useful beauty tip, google it. I'll never buy another strapless bra again, tape works so much better. If I can tape the G cups up, anyone can.
BTW, if you ever want real useful beauty/fashion related tips, never ask on a weight loss surgery forum. You got pages of kind but useless comments. You are normal sized now, go to the places normal sized women talk about beauty and fashion. They have similiar issues, just not in the extreme.
It works just practice. I plan on taping my thighs this summer. Duct tape comes off very easy with no pain if you get you body temp up. You can tape it off in the shower or with a heating pad.

Pipergurl got a reaction from suzzzzz in Stricture Mid-Stomach
I am scheduled for a conversion to bypass on December 16. There is no other option at this time. I will be having the surgery done by a different surgeon as I did not feel comfortable going back to the other one.

Pipergurl got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Stricture Mid-Stomach
I'm not quite 4 months out. The doctor has been telling me since I was one month out that it was all in my head. Talk about screwing up on his part. I want to get a second opinion but no one wants to operate except the one who did the surgery. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App

Pipergurl reacted to JamieLogical in time for the last touch
Here are some pics of my scars around 4 years post-TT. I had an extended TT (almost circumferential), but not the fleur de lis.
The last pic shows how underwear hides the scar completely. I have much skimpier underwear than that and it's still completely hidden. -

Well I got an appointment date of the 14th for some plastic work to be done around the mid section. I am not sure how it will go and I am a bit nervous as to if I will like the results or not. It may sound a bit self centered but I am hoping they take enough so I am happy with it after putting myself through it. I will do a before VGS and after plastic pics when it heals up a bit. Wish me luck!

I'm having surgery tomorrow (9/22/16) and I'll work from home tomorrow and return to the office on week 2 -- at least that's the plan.

No, I'm on to soft solids. My PCP tested for c-Diff, negative, so he believes I have a virus and suggested a Fiber supplement and changed some of my meds. I pray this changes things. I need to be able to exercise.
