  1. @tlh4life well, it's almost a year and I feel great! This is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. I'm down 67 pounds. I would still like to loose another 25 pounds. But, it does get a whole lot harder after the honeymoon phase is over. I'm off all of my meds! And no more cpap machine! And I feel great! My husband is at his goal weight, he had his surgery exactly one week after me. He is also off meds and cpap! We have both had some wls associated hair loss at around the 5 month mark, not too bad though, its just starting to slow down now. Neither of us have any excess skin issues. The first few days at home after the surgery are the worst, but you will get through it. You will get some pain when you eat too much or too fast, just listen to your body and not your brain. You will be ok. The premier protein shakes have been a Godsent! I still drink them. I get them at costco. Good luck to you on your journey, I hope you are as happy as we are 😙😙😙 -Karen

  10. So my husband had his sleeve done yesterday...He is hanging in there. In prep and holding I got to talk to Dr Peters and he asked me how I was... I told him I was struggling with crushing the meds and basically wasn't taking my pills. He said, "oh we are starting to tell people to just take them now and not to crush them...the ursodial is big so break it in half and take half in morning and half at night"... Don't get me wrong, I am THRILLED! But geez, what a difference a week makes... I was sleeved exactly 1 week prior... So there you have it... I was so scared of getting a leak from heaving and throwing up from trying to swallow crushed pills... Can go back to my pills and so so so need my antidepressant...been getting harder and harder to get off the couch! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

How long do you have to crush your pills?

I am so happy! I am one week out and my husband just went in OR for his sleeve.. yes we will have His and Hers sleeves...lol.. our surgeons asked me how I was..told him about the pill crushing jazz...He said we are just starting to tell people this week to not worry about crushing them... he said take them all whole and if it's large like the ursodial break it in half and take it morning and night....so so happy!!! 48hrs post OP

My pain from the co2 was unbearable a times...I was in tears. Walked and did the incentive spirometer hourly throughout the day. Day 4 post-op I started to feel better. Today is day 5 and I feel almost "normal". Hang in there, I think the first 3 days are the worst.. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
