  1. six. 4 itty bitty and 2 small. six. 4 itty bitty and 2 small.
  2. Just this week I was scrounging around for a shirt to wear after work, walking the dog. Well, I have had to get rid of a lot of things and I pulled out a "good tee shirt" that in the past was slightly snug, and something I would wear out to lunch with a friend. I thought - why not wear it to walk the dog? it isn't going to fit very long anyway. How nice it was to wear something pretty just on a Tuesday night walking in the neighborhood. it's kinda too big now, but so what? at least it's not falling off yet. clothes. this could be fun, and expensive in the future.
  3. Thank you! you've just made my visits a lot more pleasant! I sure do appreciate it!
  4. if you go through Nashville, give me a holler. you can step on mine.
  5. shrinking your liver is important - can you satisfy the itch with a chocolate Protein shake?
  6. my biggest problem was when the girls wanted to SIT NEXT TO ME to eat when I was on liquids. I love you, GO AWAY, they learned quick. :-) I have 7 children but at the time of surgery had a 15 yr old, 18 yr old and 21 yr old living at home. the rest, thankfully are grown.
  7. one reason I change my ticker here at my official weigh in on Mondays is because my progress often feels slow to me, and it helps me to review and see that it *is* going down. Hang in there, your body is making major adjustments.
  8. I have beach time planned for July.............. I always go home to Northern Michigan.......... North Bar Lake..... sleeping Bear Dunes.......... Sunsets in Frankfort over the big lake........... climbing Bammer Mt...........walks in the woods on my family farm............. #bliss.
  9. WONDERFUL! totally life changing! now, I hope you will share your maintenance secrets and tips as you go forward into a new phase of the journey.
  10. I have struggled with depression although it seems to be lifting now from weeks 4-8. week 3 I was unreasonably angry. I really believe it was the hormone dump. Hang in there, it gets better.
  11. wow I have no advice! but your life is going to change a LOT in the next year from the sounds of it!
  12. sometimes in those early days when I was relearning my body's signals I would hand my plate to my husband after a few bites. he would put it on the other side of him until I asked for it back. It helped me to slow down. We do not normally eat in front of the TV, but back then it took me so long to get through my meal, with breaks of eating of 5 minutes or so that we did eat with the TV back then. It won't always be this way.
  13. I don't really care what other people choose to tell or to not tell. I'm old enough to understand most people don't care about my personal choices! I am sorry if people feel like they "can't" tell, but that is not the same thing. I am pretty open about anything so I tell anyone who cares to know, but I also think that is my own choice/business. I would add (and Lipstick Lady liked this before I added this part) That if someone thinks it is half truth that's also their business, and their opinion. I wouldn't waste 2 minutes trying to change their mind because in the end, I just don't think it matters that much. tell or not tell according to your own reasons.
  14. nothing I've sworn off - but I had venison steak and it was TOO SOON. will try again in a few months.
  15. pampered chef has a recipe for touch down taco dip that is seasoned refried Beans with a topping of cream cheese and sour cream. I loved it without the toppings in soft food. I ate it off a spoon and the family had it with chips and toppings. it was SO FABULOUS. also, since I don't eat fish, my NUT approved me to try canned or slow cooker chicken and scrambled eggs. I ate a lot of beans and eggs in that stage. well. still do.
  16. oh no, Pirate. don't make me laugh out loud at work!
  17. yes, but you already know the answer get your Protein and Water in and don't pick at food all day. get rid of any simple carbs that have snuck in. Have your set meals and Snacks, and move your body as much as you can!
  18. there are times in my life when all I drank was coca cola. I love love love love love. I doubt I would ever even open the door like that because I don't want to go down that road. I am sure it would be heaven but not worth it for me.
  19. I am from Michigan! but I live in Tennessee now.
  20. you've been given some good ideas here! I know it is a challenge. I never know if I am going to be 'allowed' to leave work on time to eat - so I tend to pack two meals and two Snacks just in case. so, since I eat my egg on my way to work I leave the house with the whole day's food. not quite the same, but enough to sympathize.
  21. not professional but I have played the flute since the 5th grade. haven't tried since surgery though.
  22. one of the things I love about living in the South is that it is far more likely that any nice man will hold the door open, young and old. I like being treated like a lady. but not all ladies like being treated a certain way, so guys if you find one you like, take the time to learn what pleases her. she will hold you in high esteem if you do.
