  7. If you have a taste for something sweet, remember that is a learned behavior. Unlearn it with some iced lemon Water or water with Crystal Light mixed in. Or do what I do. I tell myself, "Been there. Done that. I'm on a new path to a brand new me. Something sweet for a moment is not as sweet as being in a size 14 jeans." I don't give into it. I distract myself saying those words over and over again. Best to you! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

  10. In my year of research before I decided to have the sleeve surgery, I never ran across anything that mentioned tooth loss as a containdication. Tooth loss can be caused by a wide variety of neglectful habits like: not brushing twice a day, using methamphetamines or a sugared soft drink habit, etc., etc. Tooth loss can happen if the patient has had long standing periodontal disease, which is a non-painful, albeit serious progression of bone loss due to neglecting gum and tooth health. The breath becomes bad, the supporting gum tissue becomes red and very inflamed, the teeth become loose, and unless an aggressive hygiene program is started by your dentist, teeth will be lost. Periodontal disease is very serious. The bacteria related to this process can cause organ failure. Make an appointment with your dentist to stop tooth loss; the sooner the better. 17. Oh gosh I'm so sorry and I SO understand! I was so miserable for a solid 18 days postop, which included an ambulance ride to the ER because of dehydration... yes I get it. I researched this surgery for a year. I read a stack of books about it. I got on this website and soaked up all I could. Surgery came and all I could think was, "Oh no, what have I done to myself". @@QueenOfTheTamazons, your body knows what to do. Let it do it it's own way. Be patient. You WILL feel better. And then you will be wonderfully thankful for the powerful tool that is yours to use for your good. You are going to be ok and you won't regret it once you feel better. 21. @@BuffaloBill, yes, I have a lot to work for. That is only a very small part of the list. I keep it taped up on my bathroom mirror and on the refrigerator to help me remember. Thank you kindly for your good wishes.
  22. I’m tired of living in limbo. “When I lose weight I will do this or that or the other.” All the things I want to do have been on hold for 24 years. I don’t want my fears about my health to decide my future. I sold my kayak because I couldn't get in it without falling over, not to mention I couldn't even fit in it. I want a new kayak. I’m so tired of being the only one who is hot and sweaty when everyone else is chilly. I’m tired of my pants falling down because they are not around my waist but up under my belly. I’m tired of not being able to wipe my butt without getting a cramp in my side from trying to reach it. I’m tired of my big blouses slipping off the hanger. I want to fit in my bathtub and be totally covered in Water. I’m tired of wanting to take a bath but then worrying that I will hurt myself trying to lift myself out. I want to be hugged tighter. No one can get their arms around me at this point. When I eat, I want to be able to be close enough to the table to lean over and not drop food on my boobs. I want to be able to get a smaller suitcase so I can carry it on instead of hauling that much too heavy suitcase to ticketing, paying $25 to check it, and then waiting forever for it to come out on the luggage carousel. If someone parks too close to me, I want to be able to open my door and squeeze into the front seat anyway. I am tired of being overlooked at work. (I think I’ve been overlooked for a promotion.) Did I say I want to be hugged tighter?
  23. Before: Adorable girl After: Smokin' hot woman Printed your inspiring picture to put up on my bathroom mirror with other inspiring BPers and several of @InnerSurferGirl quotes. My bathroom mirror is my morning and evening pep talk! Thank you for sharing your journey. It means a great deal to all of us.
  24. @@facebro29 I SO understand the gas pain you describe. I had relatively little surgery pain but the gas pain in my shoulders was freaking unbelievable. They kept trying to get me up to walk. Walk?! I felt like I was about to explode... truly just explode. What do you mean you want me to walk?!?! I've given birth twice but that was a breeze compared to those 2 days of gas pain. Remember this... it is temporary. You CAN do it. The worst is behind you. You are one day closer to your goal! Hooray for you!!! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  25. Like leebick, I weaned off of coffee two weeks before surgery. (Also weaned off sugar) I'm 5 weeks post op and enjoy the smell of coffee but no longer enjoy the taste... at all. BLECKKKK! Crazy. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
