BlueEyed4u reacted to Inner Surfer Girl in 7.5 months post-op and only down 63lbs
I don't know if inspiration will just "come to you", but recognizing that you don't like your results and that you need to do something different is a step in the right direction.
Now, take another step.
I would suggest that you recommit to following your program. Make an appointment today with your NUT to talk about your progress, your goals, and how to get there.
Find out when the next bariatric support meeting is and attend.
Talk to the person who did your psych clearance and find out if they can see you or can refer you to someone.
Go back to basics:
Drink 64 oz of Water a day. Just do it.
Track your food.
Make sure you get in ALL of your Protein every day.
Avoid starches, added sugars, and fried foods.
Take your Vitamins and supplements as instructed.
Exercise. (You have got to find a way to move, even if it isn't a formal exercise program. If you can, get a fitness tracker so you can at least track how much activity you engage in daily. That will give you a place to start for adding in activity/movement, and even "exercise").
You know what to do! You obviously did something right to lose as much as you have up to now. Don't give up!
Embrace the Stall!

BlueEyed4u reacted to livvsmum in Iron-Deficiency Anemia Post Surgery
I had the first transfusion today. It went fine. It took about a 1/2 hour for the Iron IV and then a 1/2 hour observation to make sure there was no reaction. I feel pretty normal at the moment, but she said it would take a couple of days to really feel any difference, then I'd feel much better after the treatment next week and then in about 3 weeks I should feel 100% once the red blood cells have reproduced. Feeling hopeful that I can get my life back soon.

BlueEyed4u reacted to jhb724 in Waiting to start the Gastric Bypass nutrition program
i have diabetes as a secondary reason for the bypass. i am insured by Kaiser permanente. the surgeon says as soon as i have the surgery i stop taking all diabetes medications. i have completed the required 12 week course and the surgeons seminar. these seminars can be found online too. if you have the nerve you can watch the surgery on you tube.

I noticed working out with kettlebells is helping me tone up considerably. I started doing it and while I only dropped 5 lbs since I started, the difference in 5 lbs an the toning has been huge. I've lost a ton of inches.

BlueEyed4u reacted to kheff13 in How to deal with work about surgery? LOA? What do I do?!
It's a national company. She told me that March wasn't ideal because we had inventory so I took my time because I understood that. Now she's saying that April isn't great because her vacation and another managers vacation. I don't want to get in trouble or anything because I need to have this surgery at a time that is not a good time for her.
I've printed a bunch of paperwork about requested a LOA. Once I get approval from BCBSIL (hopefully this week) I will reach out to my HR rep.

BlueEyed4u reacted to countryrose in I think I have a date!
I got insurance approval the same day she turned it in. It was literally minutes after she hit submit, we had an answer. I'm sure each insurance program is different with their turn around times. As far as knowing a timeline for surgery, I just called my office and asked her when I could anticipate surgery so I could work on childcare for my kiddos. I have my surgery in 10days.

BlueEyed4u reacted to sassyfrass23 in RNY in T-12 hours. Whaaaa?
In 12 sweet, short hours, I will finally be in the OR! My journey began in June of 2015 and there were a few times where I honestly couldn't foresee myself making it to this point. Especially when the 2 week preop diet began. But here I am!
I do have a few concerns such as anesthesia, the pain afterwards, etc. As a 27 year old adult, I've been blessed by not having any surgeries or physically painful experiences. I just don't know what to expect but it's nothing that is causing any anxiety at this point.
So, to all of the newbies who are just initiating this process, keep your head up and fight for your health. Follow the instructions of your surgeons and utilize this forum. There are a lot of wise folks on BP who have a ton to offer. Even if it's not always something you want to hear
Now....to my final question: WHO IS SAVING ME A SEAT ON THE LOSER'S BENCH???
See you on the other side!

I had my psych evaluation on Thursday --it was really nothing. The Dr asked me some questions for about 20 min, then I had to take the MMPI. It's a long weird True/False test. Just answer truthfully & you will be fine. Good Luck!#

I had my 6mo of dieting in with a diff doctor before I decided to go through with Route Y surgery!!
I did my initial meeting & had both of my required dietitian Appts....
all I really have left is to lose more 8lbs (my required 5% that I have to lose before surgery) & my Psychiatric appt for him to give the green light so they can get my insurance to cover surgery....
I've been doing the "Bariatric diet" for like 2mo now (meat, 1cup veggies, 1c fruit 3x times a day: no snacking in between...only Water, crystal light, & sugar free tropical Popsicles are accepted)
