  1. What has been your biggest challenge immediately after surgery, and 6 months out?

    Barriers

Did anybody have H-pillory before their surgery, and how about after?
  3. Hello my friend. First I'm not in your exact shoes, but I get the shoes you wear. First off support is your biggest need. People who get what you're going through, but at the same time hold you accountable. Second, weigh things out. If you're really serious about this then you'll have to be as serious about quitting your substance abuse. I smoked for a good while. I knew I needed to lose weight. I knew I wanted to, but want sure how. I went to an orientation as my first step for GPS, and there they explained that if I were to smoke after my surgery I would have an ulcer. So I decided to ask a close friend of mine that understood my addiction to tobacco, to support me and keep me accountable. It's not been easy and at times I crave. But I also remind my self why I quit; I quit for my health, I quit for me. I have a sister who had the GPS and for a while it worked. But soon she began doing the same things as before, drinking smoking and not taking care of her body; she gained 80% of her weight back. So this isn't a judgement of wether you're good or bad. But it is a plea to ask yourself if you are really ready for this life changing event in your life if you're not ready to give up the other life altering event in your life. I hope the best for you my friend. William
  4. Hello all. I have been wondering how the surgery and weight loss will change my medicine intake. Primary concern is that I'm an epileptic and take several meds. I just was wondering if anyone has dealt with this at all. Thanks. William/KOOLAID
  5. So I have two more preop test to do the. I can focus on just getting to that day.

    Under belly sweat

I think they have to see that there is a continued irritation issue with your extra skin in order to cover it.
  10. Hi all. I am ramping up for the GP, and my doctor wants me to lose 30LBS. Here's the things, I've changed my diet and am trying. Exercise is a bit hard right now due to my lower back pain. Is there anything any of you can give me pointers on wether poop or preop? I currently weigh 432. Thanks all. William
  11. I would say be prepared for the emotional changes. I just started my journey toward the gastric, and already I'm noticing things I never did. It's good, but challenging. Good luck!

    Self aware

I think that's it. I never really paid attention to it before, as it was just a part of me, literally. However I now am seeing and feeling the great desire to see the me underneath me. Thank you all for the responses! Does anyone have a BF/AF?
  13. Have any of you after beginning the journey, felt more aware of your weight? I know I've been over aware, it seems. I've noticed I e been more discouraged. Not about the surgery, I'm excited for that, but about my current weight condition. Any help would be appreciated.
