  1. Do you know what size band you got? If you got a 14cc it will take more fills before you find your sweet spot. I am hoping my stomach can handle a 10cc band, but I think my doc only does 14cc's.
  2. I would never try it without talkin to my doc about it but it is def something i want to do. You can find healthy protiens in lots of other things besides meat. mainly in nuts and seeds, but i just don't know how that will go down and stay down.
  3. Hi again! Before I started seeking information on getting the lap band, I started researching the benifits of eating more raw fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. Basically going "vegan". I was just wondering if you or anyone you know has been successfull at this? I think it would be hard because of the nuts and seeds, but they can be ground down to more of a "meal" consistancy. Any help would be much appreciated!!! :cursing:
  4. Hello you guys!!! I am in the process of getting insurance approval for my surgery and I had a couple of questions I'm hopeing you can help me with!!! What are some of the important things to do BEFORE your surgery? What are some things you WISH you would have done? What kind of equipment did you have to buy if any? What about food? We haven't talked about this in the office as of yet but I'm sill very curious. How do you keep from getting stopped up??? Am I going to get to drink lots of water when I don't eat? Sorry for all the questions, I could go on and on and on! I'm just so excited for my new lifestyle change!

WoW! I had my first Dr. appt on friday Feb 8th. The doc and staff were awesome. I turned in my novel, got weighed, answered some health questions and talked with the Dr. They are hopepfully going to submit my paperwork to UHC the beginning of this week. The lady up front also told me that UHC usually has a great turn around time with getting approvals back to them. Most within 10 days!!! So once that is done, I meet with the nutritionist, have my pre op testing and get a surgery date!!! I feel so blessed and I pray to God I'm not jinxing myself!!!

  7. Green Tea may be a good substitute. It has caffine and it should easy on your tummy. That is what i'm trying to sub my coffee with and so far its going great!
  8. I had my first visit with the surgeon yesterday and OMG it was AWESOME!!! I have UHC and they say they usually get a response back from them within 10 days!!! So after that they will schedule my tests and my nutritionist appt and give me a surgery date!!! YAY!!! I'm so nervous/excited/ready!!
  9. Well i had my first consult appt today and OMG it was AWESOME!!! I don't have to do the therapist thing (mainly cause i have been in therapy for a number of years already) and they are going to schedule all of my tests and nutritionist appts for the same day so I only have to travel twice counting my surgery!!! I've got an awesome doc. He seems like he really nows what he's talking about and that made me feel sooo much better!!! Thanks for all your support!!!
  10. Come to find out I didn't have to do the therapist thing after all!!! Yay! My appt went AWESOME! They are supposed to submit my paperwork to insurance by Wed and my insurance company usually gives an approval within 10 days. So after that they will do my tests (x-rays, ekg etc) and set me a date! :-D :-D :-D
  11. Hi all of you lovely people!!! I have yet another question! When you go to the Therapist... what all kinds of things is he or she going to ask me? Is there anything I should or shouldn't say? I don't want to slow down this process anymore than it's gonna take! I know that sounds horrible, but I have been in therapy for the last 8 years. I go for my first consult appt today!!! Soooo excited!!! :tongue2::Dancing_wub:
  12. In my mind i just thought it might hurt the band. I am the most horrible person on counting calories. :-( But I guess I'm gonna have to learn!!!
  13. WOW! I pray I get as lucky as you!!! :-) I'm going to see if I can do it all in one day. Congrats on almost reaching your goal! You must feel amazing!
  14. hahaha! that would be SUCH a change for me! That is a good point to look forward to!
  15. Oh wow! I think I would rather mine be all in a month! I would hate to have to wait that long!!! But you gotta do what you gotta do right???
  16. So how many times did you have to go tot he nutritionist and psych if you don't mind me asking?
  17. Hi! Me again!!! I was wondering if any of you had to go a pretty good distance to get your surgery done? I am going to have to go about 2 hours and that's not too bad. But the dietitian and phsyc appointments... wonder if they can be done locally? I hate to have to drive all that way for that.
  18. Oh how exciting!!! Good Luck to you as well!!!
  19. I have also heard that sometimes you feel more restricted in the morning than you do in the evening. I want to feel restriction. Because I can eat SO much at a time it is rediculous.
  20. Congrats!!! That's funny that the one thing you are looking forward to is the one thing i am MOST scared of!!! I don't think that my skin is going to be so elastic. I guess because I base it on the fact that I had twins that weighed a whole lot and I carried them a long time and my stomach didn't do so good. But ya gotta be positive right!??!!!
  21. You are SO awesome!!! I appreciate your words very very very much!
  22. The losers club! I like that!!! Thank you for your kind and helpful words!!! I really appreciate it!
  23. Hi! I'm new too... i have not yet been banded but am well on my way! Congrats!!!
