  1. I have been eating very small amounts of past, rice and potato, since about my 2nd. Month after surgery. I love all three and just have a half a cup or less at a time. I always eat my protein first, then veggies and if I have room I eat the starch. I don't use butter and that helps. I also have been eating whole wheat pasta or the enriched kind with good stuff in it. Also brown rice and baked potatoes. If I have a few fries, they are baked in the oven not in oil. Good luck.
  2. So far I have been lucky no hair loss. I was told my my doctor and the nutritionist that hair loss is mainly due to lack of Protein. I make sure I always eat my 60 grams of protein a day. I hope this helps.
  3. Finally off the plateau, my colonoscopy must have helped LOL. A little over two pounds lost. Got into a dress I got 3 years ago. It's a 13 petite. Fits great. LOL I really am reving up the anti the next few weeks I want to be 160 or less by April 1st. Great job everyone.
  4. After about 3 months I had a glass of wine. Was fine, no carbonated wines or beer. Had a Bloody Mary on Sunday and was OK no problem. Good luck.

Congratulations, I was so thrilled when I hit the 100's. I am now 167.3 and can't wait to hit the 150's LOL I take it one pound at a time. It's easier. Best of luck.
  6. I get up a few times to pee, it's all that water/liquid I have to drink daily. I sleep better, am off the CPAP now sent it back. Maybe it's your food choices. I can't eat any pork except pork loin and then it has to be moist. I tried country ribs and foamed it all up uggg. How many overnight sleep studies have you had over the years.
  7. I can see a slight protrusion of the port and I know it's there when I exercise I can feel it pull, sometimes it is a slight discomfort but not any pain. I am six months from surgery. It doesn't bother me really it's like a badge of honor for me LOL My scars are still healing, and the port is not on your stomach, it's under your breast, (my left one) to the side.
  8. Mine was $16,000 but I sent on night in the hospital, it's mandatory for the hospital I went too, Lahen Clinic in Burlington, MA Without my insurance and my co-morbidity(s) I could not have afforded it. The fills are expensive about $500 per fill but my insurance covers it so I pay a $20 co-pay. Good luck
  9. Congratulations I love wearing tight jeans again. Size 12 or 13 depending on the brand.
  10. Hey I strayed last week, for a day or so, back on track and still at the same weight, no gain is good. Next week I have my 5 year colonoscopy and I am sure I'll drop a few pounds with the cleaning out prep. Staying on track till then so I can lose a bit more.
  11. Just an update, I am dong great, see my ticker. Am down over 60 lbs. my diabetes is totally under control, my PCP says that I may be off the meds by the summer. I am not on any BP meds. That is perfect, my sleep apnea is gone, no snoring and more energy. I may be a bit saggy but LOL I got a size 12 jeans this week with no "mommy" elastic waist LOL. My cholesterol is 130 and I feel 10 years younger. I am so very very happy I did this. It's fun to shop for clothing now in the normal section of the store. Good luck with everything you soon will feel great. Pati
  12. Can you eliminate the 1/4th cup sugar or can you use Splenda. Cool Whip now has a sugar free topping. It looks good. thanks for sharing.
  13. Boy I understand, with 2/3 of my weight lost, I love going into the store and going to the "normal" sized clothing. I even bought jeans this week at BJ's wholesale LOL just picked up the jeans and brought them home and they fit. Size 12 by the way LOL NO more fat stores at all for me.
  14. If I am on a plateau, and I am now...I eat more for a few days then eat less for a few days....and it sometimes helps me lose more weight. Not a lot of calories either way maybe 200. I ate more last week due to the baby's Christening and less this week so I hope to have a few pounds off by the end of the week, been the same weight for 2 weeks now. I just go one day at a time...not think ahead too much. I am about 2/3rds to my goal weight and the last 3rd is the hardest to lose I think. So if I make goal weight by August 7th I will be very very happy.
  15. Have you had a fill? I had my 4th fill and now can't eat any pork, and chicken gets stuck unless it's really really tiny. I can eat small pieces of beef if it's very tender. I did PB the other day with a piece of bread. It was whole wheat which I never had problems with. So I am off bread now completely. I am also at a plateau which is driving me crazy. I hope to break it the next week or so. I can eat yogurt and pudding with no problem. I do love them both.
  16. Thanks everyone, she is a doll. All the "food" from the party last week is gone LOL so back to basics. I ate more than usual but didn't gain any weight which was good. I bought a cute new top at Target and it was in the hip clothing section..LOL and a "L". LOL That makes me happy.
  17. I stayed the same, which is OK since I had a big party Ihere last Sunday for my Granddauter's Christening. Here is the little sweetie pie.
  18. Yikes sound delish but very very fattening and I would be afraid it would get stuck. I am staying away from all fried foods.
  19. I have lost 61 pounds down 66% of my excess weight Gone from a 1-3X to a L and size 14 jeans Even my feet lost weight down half a shoe size BMI went from 39 to 29 I hope to have all of my weight lost by August 7th my 1 year Anniversary. Gread Job guys and gals it's wonderful to be "overweight" not "morbidly obese" anymore LOL
  20. Hey I won't hit my goal tomorrow but that's OK I'll hit it sometime in the next week or so. Got a fill on Wed. so I hope to get more restriction and thus lose a bit more weight. Take care all and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
  21. Oh I am so sorry to have seen and read about all those awful fires I am glad they arrested someone for one of them. I pray and hope that everyone else will be safe, it's a horrible thing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your R. Take care and God Bless. Hey a little dark chocolate is good for you my NP says. But just a little.
  22. I lost 2 lbs. early in the week, none since but that's fine with me. I had a fill on Wed. Been on liquids and mushies for two days. I have my granddaughters Christening this Sunday and we had a ton of food, LOL Mostly good stuff. I'll stay away from the bad stuff for sure. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and a Happy Valentine's Day to you all
  23. When I was first out of the hospital and got better there was no restriction, they put the band in with no fill. After 6 to 8 weeks they do the first fill, then every 6-8 weeks another one. I have to call when I notice that my restriction is not as good. I am going for my 4th fill this Wed.
  24. Yikes some men can be such children can't they. I would say that you need to see a therapist as soon as possible to stop this stinkin thinking on his part. Some men think that when they marry a "fattie" that no other man is going to want them. When the fattie becomes a "hottie" they gat upset and scared. With my husband it's the opposite, When we met I was 110 pounds. So he's thrilled to get the old me back to some extent. He's so very proud of me and wants to show me off. I am very lucky. So right now you be the adult in the relationship and sit down with your DH and have a heart to heart on the subject. Let him know you won't leave him and that you want him to be proud of you. Just keep on losing and don't let anyone stop you. take care Pati
  25. My BMI was 39 but I had co-morbidity's of Type II Diabetes and sleep Apnea. At 192 you would be a good candidate for Lap band I would think. I was 229 and was one of the "thinnest" people in my support group to get it. Some questioned me about having it done. Don't listen, listen to you and your doctor. I do assume you have at least one co-morbidity ? My doctor said Lap band for morbidly obese and Gastric Bypass for really really morbidly obese people. I am so glad I did it. I feel terrific now.
