my doc & NUT both say you can't stretch your sleeve

My nutritionist had me on a bariatric multi-vitamin, calcium +D3, liquid B12, and a probiotic. Make sure you don't take the calcium at the same time as your mult-vitamin. Calcium and Iron compete for absorption.

    2. MowryRocks

      MowryRocks

I am on a multi -vitamin, iron, B-12, and calcium (citrate, not carbonate)

    3. MoLiver4u

      MoLiver4u

2x a day a multivitamin with minerals - no gummies unless they are bariatric specific

3x a day 500mg calcium citrate (Separate from iron)

      1x a day 50mg Vitamin B1

1x a day 5000 Vitamin D3 (combine what's in multi with whatever you need to reach this)

1x a day for pre-menopausal women 60mg Iron with Vitamin C (not within an hour of Calcium as this blocks absorption.) Post menopausal woman should have this 3x a week.

5000mg a week of vitamin B12 oral dissolving, NOT capsules.

I think many doctors are different but this is what Kaiser told me I needed

I'm hoping that my days of diet pills are over. I did take Phentermine during my six month pre-op diet program, but there is no need for it since the surgery.

Any and all physical activity is good for you :)

I can't get my heart rate up enough on a bike so I prefer to use the elliptical machine - it doesn't bother my knees, hips, or back, which is key, and I can get into my target heart rate relatively quickly depending on the level I'm working at.

      Absolutely! Go for it!!! :)

I thought it was just me! Certain flavors of Crystal Light make me feel so bloated and sometimes I get that full feeling like I ate too much and I have to vomit.

    4. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

      I concur with @JamieLogical :)

Have you tried a store brand of the sugar-free drink mixes? I use Great Value all the time for numerous flavors. They are a lot less costly and taste great in my opinion. About the only time I feel too full from a liquid is if I sip on something too soon after eating a meal. Sometimes I get impatient and am just so thirsty that I'll take a sip or two about 15 minutes after the meal and almost immediately regret those sips. The feeling passes, but it still doesn't feel good.

I've been cheating A LOT. But I'm still not gaining. Maybe it's because I portion it? Ugh, I still need to do better. :/

      Good luck!

I provided a list but I have had 3 strawberries in the past 18 months, and that has been one strawberry at a time over the summer.

    3. summerset

      summerset

Depends on the plan you've been given. I have no special limits when it comes to fruit. Some people dump when they're eating fruit alone.

    4. Fredbear

      Fredbear

I can eat fruits but choose not to... I'd rather get the carbs from vegetables. If ever get a hankerin' there are some raspberries in the freezer ;-)

  10. Can our stomach Stretch after having the sleeve?

    1. Babbs

      Babbs

As healing and swelling goes down, and things loosen up, capacity will be greater. Otherwise it's very hard to stretch a sleeve, because the fundus, or stretchy part of the stomach is removed with surgery.

  11. Why if I am only getting in 700-800 Calories and about 83g protein I am still straving?

      JamieLogical

During my weight loss phase I was eating 1400-1500 calories a day and at least 2-3 snacks per day. Just make sure you snack on a set schedule and you are eating protein-based snacks. Don't just graze whenever you feel like it.

    3. Djmohr

      Djmohr

I did not notice how far out from surgery you are. You are definately not eating enough. Are you still losing?

    4. fatontheinside

      fatontheinside

How in the world are you getting so much protein but eating so few calories? Also, are you actually FEELING hungry or are you just "mentally" hungry? I had the RNY and I'm 1.5 years out. I don't feel hunger at all... but I know when I need to eat because I can get shaky if I'm not paying attention to the time.

  12. I am getting there slower but surely!!

One of my favs, too. I found that my portion sizes for all fruits is considerably smaller than I would have thought. However, my typical meal volume is limited to 1/2-3/4 cup total.

It slows down a lot as you near your goal. I was down to only about two pounds a month towards the end of my weight loss phase. As long as the scale is still moving, there's no cause for alarm.

what the other comment say is right! just focus on the finish line not how fast you cross it!

dating is nothing compared to the breakup. I just got dumped and I'm still reeling. Not turning to food for comfort though. That's a new way of doing things for me.

    3. OutsideMatchInside

Doing on lots of dates is like breaking up every week, its not the same as when you have a long connection to someone, but it is a special kind of hell. Don't know if I have it in me
