How long is the "honemoon" phase for sleeve? Talk to me about transitioning out?
There is no reason to be. One can lose more weight outside of that infamous "honeymoon phase".

Black bean pasta, boiled egg, carrots and green cabbage in lemony sate sauce. Not pretty, but tasty.

Even more frustrating, lol. The ones I saw at a German ALDI looked different from the Explore ones. However, it's been awhile. Maybe something changed.

Don't it irks you when...
OMG, yes! Same with people who used to smoke!

Meh, I want the same ALDI/Trader Joe's assortment in Germany's ALDI markets. Neither ALDI Nord nor ALDI Süd have decent bean pasta. The one one can get at ALDI Süd was like ?, exactly as the other brands I tried, never seen them at ALDI Nord. What I've seen from the website is that the brand in the US is a different one. Doesn't seem to be only a different name because the pasta also looks different. Maybe Explore has a deal with ALDI in the US.

How many carbs in post-op diet?

Self rant
It's normal. There doesn't need to be a specific reason. Cravings are normal and to be expected. Few people seem to not experience cravings for certain foods, at least early out of surgery, the rest experiences them. In the end even with WLS the psychological side effects of restriction are quite similar to every other calorie/macro/food restricted regimen, at least when it comes to cravings: they will be there. Also diet fatigue is a thing, usually later out. You need to get used to cravings and ride them out (at least to an extend that will allow you to reach your weight goals) and that's exactly as unpleasant as it sounds in the beginning.

No, it's more chewy but I like that a lot. In fact I prefer bean pasta over regular. However, I only like the Explore brand, the rest can take a hike. I have no idea what Explore is doing differently, but they know their bean pasta for sure.

Second portion of this is for lunch tomorrow. The other two portions of plain noodles - I guess I will fry green cabbage again and carrots and maybe some frozen wok vegetable mix and mix everything with a lemony sate sauce I have at home.

How many carbs in post-op diet?
There is a lot of discussion on carbs - especially on how to avoid them.

How many carbs in post-op diet?
We didn't get told to eat a specific amount of calories, grams of fat or carbohydrates. There was a minimum on protein and fluid intake though. Is there a specific reason you doubt the advise of your dietitian?

Guilt
Only that this tool is the game changer. However, it doesn't matter anyway if patients choose to tell or not. With WLS being nothing exotic anymore people will draw their own conclusions when a colleague, friend or family member starts to lose truckloads of weight fast after a short period of absence without showing obvious signs of being very sick. A colleague of mine (other department of the hospital, but one we work very close with) started losing large amounts of weight after a short period of absence, she works usual hours and doesn't appear sick. People congratulate her on her weight loss, however, one of my colleagues who works in the same department as I do recently asked: "Do you think she had some kind of weight loss surgery?" I shrugged and said: "Yeah, maybe" because I don't know (and I won't ask) but I'd guess that she had indeed some kind of WLS. You can't really keep it a secret, at least not nowadays. And there is no reason to keep it one anyway. WLS is nothing to be ashamed of.

Guilt
Hm, that's not my experience. On the contrary, I've experienced some serious envy and bitchiness from the "weight strugglers" while the "never strugglers" are usually curious about the whole thing but that's just a generalization. In the end open mindedness and curiosity matters, the weight or the struggle with weight not so much. Most people who know about my surgery were quite curious about it, especially the visceral surgeons.

My ignore list seems to have updated on auto pilot this time though.

Yes, but unfortunately it gave me the runs. ??

Yes, unfortunately. It makes changing work places back to where I came from easier. On-call can be cruel as well (I had two shitty ones in a row Wednesday and Thursday for that matter so I'm especially amused that I'm on 24 h tomorrow; same procedure next week: Thursday and Wednesday on call, Sunday 24 h) but at least you can hope for a quiet night. It's only five more months of this drag. I will miss a few people quite a lot though but in the end contracts are contracts. ?

Food Before and After Photos
Just prepared the food for 24 h shift tomorrow. It's kind of... scary how much one eats during 24 h. That's what several colleagues say and I agree, lol.

Is anyone else as disappointed...
True. It takes years before it's showing clearly who's going to benefit from WLS long term or not. When I say "benefit" I'm not only referring to weight loss but also to ailments like diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis etc. and mental health (think depression, cross addiction).

Depending on in which place you are, self-help groups (be it IRL or online) can be highly toxic environments. When you're down and frustrated regarding your weight loss/diet struggles/body, a WLS community can be the worst of all places to hang around.
-
No one has noticed ...
This and this. I don't comment on another person's weight. For so many people there are too many emotions attached to weight, losing or gaining and it makes them feel uncomfortable.

Anyone not into milk products?
I don't eat dairy as well (neither can't nor want). There are truckloads of vegan and/or dairy free protein powders available. Unfortunately most of them only seem to be available online, though I guess this depends on the country you're living in and/or if you're living in a big city or in a small town. The consistency and taste of these powders vary a lot, so what you maybe want to do is getting some samples first before spending big money on a protein powder you abhor. Online shops selling sports nutrition are a good source for this. Some brands sell their whole variety as samples (e. g. profuel sells all their tastes in a sample package or at least they used to do this).

Put him on ignore or get used to comments like the one you reacted to, lol.
