6 days out & increasing pain on my left side
My surgeon was explaining to me why it was important to get compression garments, and apply a heat pack as well. So much relief!

6 days out & increasing pain on my left side
My surgeon encouraged me wearing the garments. It's a world of difference!

6 days out & increasing pain on my left side
I've found that wear compression garments do help, because the muscle needs assistance while your tummy is in a weakened state. I got mine from Target for $25. It helps so much! Walking up and down the steps is pain free. The bending still hurts, but compression garments definitely are worth looking into.

6 days out & increasing pain on my left side
I'm 3 weeks post op, and have the same pain, but on my right side! Bending over is excruciating! I can't stretch, reach, kneel, anything without that incessant pain. And the burning! I literally clutch my stomach/side when I feel it. Idk what it is- but it's a relief to know I'm not the only one experiencing it. I emailed my surgeon, I'm hoping he gets back to me soon, because I'm due to go back to work next Monday- and idk how I'm going to do it with this pain!

Sugar free ice cream?
I hear so many horror stories on here about people pooping themselves. I'm terrified.

3 Weeks Post Op
I'm down 40 pounds. Still having pain in my right side- especially when I have to bend over. I'm nervous about going back to work next week with this pain. I transport patients within two hospitals,& I also perform ekgs. I'm not sure how bending and pushing, pulling, etc is going to work for me. [emoji30]

Thyroid
I take axid to prevent reflux. I've never experienced reflux to my knowledge.

Thyroid
I was having hunger pains after my RNY! People on here were trying to tell me it's absolutely not hunger- it's in my head.. Well why do I feel my stomach physically growling? Be wary where you turn for advice, a lot of people are just waiting for a chance to act like they know everything about a body that's not theirs.

Anyone not have to do 2 weeks diet pre op?
I never had to do the diet. I was shocked when I saw everyone on this forum saying they were on a liquid pre op diet.

Vitamins
Does anyone know when the vitamins will "kick in" and start making me feel a little better or energized? My patch just came in today.

I ate solids 10 days post op.....feel like a loser
You can do it! I, too, questioned why I had done it the first few weeks after, but IT GETS BETTER. Trust. I'm 7 weeks out today and starting to feel more normal. The soft/pureed food stages are the hardest, but it's a great time to get creative. I've tried to think of it as an adventure instead of a hindrance. We've all been through it here. And if you can't get the advice/answers you need on here, contact your surgeon's office to see if they can connect you with someone who can help you through it. You're stronger than sausage! Stronger than sausage! I like that!

Coffee
I work in a hospital where Starbucks is on the first floor! It is so accessible, so I was always spending a small fortune to get Frappucinos w/ espresso shots and a bagel with lite cream cheese & a toffee doodle cookie. Every single day. I'll be glad I can't do that anymore!

Weight Loss Surgery: Stand Up for Yourself against the Doctor
I had a neurologist that disagreed that I should need WLS for my Pseudotumor Cerebri.. Fast forward 2 years, 60 pounds, and 8263682873 spinal taps to drain fluid, a blood transfusion to patch the leak in my spine, and I started going to a different neurologist- who, on the very first visit said I've been through so much in the past 6 years, I didn't deserve to have to wait so long for someone to sign off on the surgery. And now I'm here.. 15 days post op. [emoji4] Be your own advocate! You know what is going on with your body. Nobody knows better than you.. You just need to find someone who'll listen!

I ate solids 10 days post op.....feel like a loser
I'm craving salad too ☹️ trust me, we all want to cheat. Some have, and some have more willpower. You're not a loser. There are just some lessons you might need to learn firsthand. Keep trying. That's all you can do [emoji4]

Miralax in warm water! I took it the other day because I hadn't had a BM in over a month- worked within a couple hours.

Skin Tightening - non-surgical
Try looking up cool sculpting. Not sure how much it is- but it's not surgical, there's no downtime, and I've heard really good things about it!

I made it! 15 days post op
So it's not a huge huge victory, but I am sooooo excited that I broke the 200 mark. I started at 238, and I'm 199.1 today!! I'm so happy! I haven't been under 200 pounds for at least 2&1/2 years!!!!

8 days post op
Cat.jackson89..how are you doing with your post op now that a few days have past? Are you having pureed food now or have you moved on to real food I'm just curious how things are going for you? Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App I'm doing great! I have some pain when I bend over, but I've been limiting my bending as much as possible. I did get moved up to the puréed phase last week, and it definitely slows the weight loss, but I'm still losing
