Congrats @Djmohr. When I started shopping for pants, which I had not worn in decades, I thought I would be ecstatic if I could fit into a 10. I am now wearing a size four. I realize pants today are not the same as they were when I was in my 20s, but I never wore anything smaller than a nine back in the day.
Ironically, I have also discovered that I am petite. Who knew?

Ok so today I went shopping because my size 12 jeans were getting fairly loose. I went to my favorite place to buy jeans since having WLS. Lucky Brand Jeans.
I grab a pair of sweet and straight jeans in a size 10 and I am grinning from ear to ear because I am confident they are going to fit and I love that feeling. I have not fit into jeans this small since I was a teenager.
I put them on and I am right! They fit fantastic! I come out of the dressing room and model for hubby who promptly says, those look a little big. Maybe you should think about a smaller size.
I the immediately say "no way!" An 8 is not going to fit me. I am honestly not sure if I have ever worn a size that small. I decide to encourage him and prove there is no way I will get them up.
I grab an 8 and head back into the dressing room. I look at this tiny pair of jeans and go, here goes nothing. They fit perfectly! I could hardly believe my eyes.
Then the sales clerk tells me that they are buy one get one half off but she says the darker dyes seem to be more forgiving so she gives me an 8 and a 6 to try on. I laughed but thought well just see how far off you are.
Well, I put the 6 on, buttoned them up and stood there in shock. Now, I didn't buy the 6 because although I could wear them, I do like my jeans to be comfortable and have a little room.
So when I started this journey I wore 24 jeans and 26/28 tops. I am now in a size 8 and a medium or large top. Sometimes I have to get the large because I have a lot of loose skin.
I cannot believe where I am today! For me, clothes shopping is when I can really see the thinner me.

    Cream sauce:
1 tbsp butter (not margarine or oil)
    1 tbsp flour
    1 cup 2% milk
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice
In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in flour and cook until smooth and bubbly and just starting to go brown. Add the milk and whisk until dissolves. Turn up the heat and stir constantly, keeping it at just below a boil. Be careful or it will scorch. Just when it starts to thicken, remove from the heat and add the cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is dissolved. Use the sauce pretty quickly. Makes 1 cup.

I have become very aware and sensitive to people I am close to who still struggle with these issues. My brother and my best friend are both considerably overweight. When I'm out with either one of them I make an effort to ask for a table instead of a booth so they'll be more comfortable. I remember what it was like to not fit in a booth!

I can cross my legs, cross my arms over my boobies, fit in clothes that I haven't worn in over 2 years, dropped a size in undies, walking around without my knees and hips hurting!!

I went to the Symphony the other night and while I hadn't been to that auditorium in a REALLY long time, I purposefully bought an aisle seat so I wouldn't be as self conscious, I sat down and almost screamed with delight because it wasn't tight! I have a long way to go, but the show was a dream come true and coupled with that? Awesome!

I love being comfortable in a booth at a Resturant. there's space!

So many... I use a normal towel after I shower instead of a beach towel. I use a normal public bathroom stall instead of the handicap stall. I cross my legs all the time. I don't sweat as much. I am never out of breath. I can run up the stairs at my house instead of hanging on the banister all the way up. I'm in single digit clothing. I don't dread being in a picture... In fact I'm front and center now. So many more.... I smile all the time now!!!

Lately I have been resolving that issue with Bariatricpal hot chocolate. It is 80 or 90 calories, it has great Protein and really gets rid of my sweet tooth.
You can get them in the BariatricPal Store. They are expensive but really worth it. Even my husband who is not watching his weight (even though he needs to), loves them.
There are so many favors to pick from. Right now I am having a mocha hot chocolate.< /p>

Many insurance companies require more than a weight history. They require that the patient takes action to try and reduce their weight through exercise and diet and was unsuccessful. And that this process is well documented. Many look at the patients BMI and the amount of obesity and also their co-morbidities.
In many cases the insurance requires that the patient undergo a 6 month medically supervised weight loss program that includes diet and exercise. In many cases this is significantly stricter than provided by a general practitioner. But these requirements can vary from one insurance to the next. It is probably a good idea to begin attending Bariatric Surgery Support Group meetings. They are generally held monthly and are generally free.

my advice would be not to get discouraged before you even know if anything's going wrong. Just giving yourself anxiety and sadness with no cause and no solution. Who knows, it's entirely possible it will go through without a hitch. Or possible that if you get denied, your surgeon can appeal and their appeal will be enough. There's always a way.

the key is too occasionally treat yourself (within reason) so that you don't overindulge. As every else has said, we're all just human. You can't be a perfect robot forever. Cut yourself some slack, and get back on the wagon.

Like @ said....you're human. We all slip up and just have to move on from it. If this is the worst that you do in your journey...I commend you.

Please forgive yourself. You are not a failure - you are human. It will happen again, because you will still be human next time. Don't let it throw off your entire plan.

Ok, give yourself a break. We all slip, the important thing is that you recognize it and get back on track.
Incidentally, was it as good as you imagined? Ice cream used to be my weakness and now I really do not care if I ever have it again. Same think with anything milk chocolate.
For me when I want something sweet it's all about cheesecake. I have it every once in a while just to keep me satisfied. Then I find I don't have many slips. I give myself permission, I track it so I know how to adjust the rest of the day. Then I don't feel so guilty.
Take a deep breath, pull up your boot straps and get back to business. You will do great!

Oh my goodness! If that is the worst you do then you are going to have great success!!!!! You will anyway . Not that big of a deal. Just not something you want to do all the time though. Don't be hard on yourself, just learn and keep your goals in sight.

Don't worry. It won't be until you reach the solid stage that you will notice the absence of hunger. In some cases, what individuals experience is described as head hunger. Many people report a strong desire to chew. When you are on full liquid and puree stage, you are not chewing your foods. Chewing is ingrained within us. Digestive fluids are released when we chew. It is a part of our normal eating process. Thus many people miss this function at least until they enter the solid stage. Time will pass quickly and you will be in the solid stage before you realize it.
