You're terrific. Anyone else who writes about the differences in rate of loss are whining about it. You're terrific and healthy in mind and spirit. I hope lots of others see your note.

  2. I am wondering if anyone is logging thier food and how many calories you may be eating ? Also could you share with me the type of exercise you may be doing and for how long ? I would love to have a wonderful weight loss as so many of you have - hoping I am doing it correctly especially as my soreness gets better each day. Thanks so much for any advise sure appreciate all of you sharing with me ;)

I am getting about 300 to 370 a day of soups. shakes, jelllo, and popsicle. The only exercise I am allowed to do right now is walking. I have not walked much in 26 years so I am using my rollator to take 2 walks each day.

You need to take it easy the first few weeks and not be a super hero... I know I've been over doing it and I feel it, but I rest. That's why walking is the best, maybe some light weight training as well for a few weeks until you feel strong and then do some hiking, or walk up some mild hills to keep building strength. I've been getting between 750-900 calories right now from liquids/protein shakes consistently throughout the day, and overall about 100oz of liquids a day total.... it is a challenge, but I make it happen. I log everything, including my vitamins in myfitnesspal. I add the meds in just like food, that way when I see the Macros/Reports for nutrition I can see where my totals and values are. As far as fitness, I've been doing a lot of mild hiking and walking through the days since I am not working for a month or so at least (I work for an airline as a baggage handler.. no major lifting, lol!.. keeps me off for 6-8 weeks post op). I challenge myself with stairs and have been getting out and even playing firsbee golf and forcing my friends to get out to evening events such as art shows and outdoor cultural events. Makes us all get out and be more active as a collective and I get more bonus walking time! ;)

I'm six weeks out and I'm eating roughly 900 calories a day. I use MyFitness Pal to log everything I eat, my vitamins and what I drink. Without it, I'd be lost. I really try hard to do a variety of exercises. I'm an aerobics girls, so I like to do Zumba and I just found Cher's New Attitude exercise routine on YouTube and I just love it. I used to do it way back in ancient history when it first came out (circa 1992?) I think the most important thing is to do what you enjoy, have fun with your exercise. I find myself feeling excited, having fun and smiling when I work out and that makes me know I'm doing the right thing. Find something that makes YOU smile. :)

  3. Just had surgery Monday and I guess because of all the water I was given through my IV ?? I have gained 6 pounds !!! Everytime they weighed me at the hospital I weighed more.

We all definately gain and if you don't expect it, it can be frustrating. Just know that it will come off fast and then some.

I'm amazed and shocked they put you on the scale after your surgery. There should be a law...!!! Let your body heal and do its thing...your body really does the work for you if you just work the plan. Good luck to you and enjoy your journey into a new you!
