Mine is on my left side, above & to the left of my bellybutton. I have one major incision & four little ones & two little dots from the morphine drip thingy I had going on.

I just got my first fill today & my doctor gave me 1.5cc. I thought it was way too much for like half an hour but now (four hours later) I feel like I could stand to have a little more put in. But I know that I could take a couple weeks for it to kick in, so no frets. I am damn sure that I'm ready to lose some weight though. /rantishness

I live a mile from my work, so maybe I'll walk there tomorrow. & it's a good thing about that cold weather thing, because it hasn't gotten any warmer.

I knew it! I figured once I got down, most people would still just remember me as "Fat Katie" & be like weird.

I've had two boyfriends. One lasted one month & was amazing. The second was like four months but emotionally abusive. I'm not sure if it is because I'm overweight or because I have a personality flaw, but I'm scared that I still won't be able to get a boyfriend even after I lose the weight. /rant EDIT: Shit, I forgot to even ask... those of you in a relationship... what has your experience been?

Definitely a LOVE/HATE relationship. Mainly love though. It's just annoying when I go to eat something & end up throwing up.

Welcome! I'm four weeks banded & I've been very happy with it. The whole process went pretty fast for me. It was two weeks to surgery once my doctor got the approval letter & it took me about a week to recover enough to go back to work. I think your doctor would be best suited to tell you how much you'd be expected to lose.

Well, I'm glad you're here. Talking to my sisters about eating with the band is starting to really get to me.

I like to weight myself only if I feel like I have lost some weight.

I think maybe your daughters will see you losing weight & be inspired to do the same. My sister & I both weigh about the same, but she isn't getting banded because of insurance issues. She's told me that she has noticed a difference in her eating habits & I've noticed her losing a little weight. My parents would have wanted me to get banded when I was like 11 or 12 if I was able to. I actually went in for my first consult a year before I got banded.

It took me about 3-5 days to get insurance to approve & then they gave me like two weeks to get all my other shit in order. I went in for my consult December 15 & had the surgery on December 26th.

I dyed my hair maybe 6-7 days after I got banded. I don't think it would be that bad...

I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off Ash. I really want to get a treadmill but we don't have the money or space... so I've just been walking outside. I feel like I'd get more done on the treadmill because it is very cold outside!

You've already lost 21lbs?! My weight keeps shifting from 270 - 274 & it is driving me crazy!
