Personally I do get cold feet. But then I Just shut the window or put some socks on.
But seriously, what is concerning is your worry about "may never just be able to binge eat and watch Netflix". Weigh the importance of this, and if it weighs high enough.. don't have the surgery.

I have scheduled my last apt with the surgeon next week, and pending my H/Pylori test being negative I will be getting a surgery date within the next two week. Now that I am getting close started the research processes in Sept. I have Jumped though all the insurance hoops, watched and read everything I can on surgery, and people's experiences etc. I am getting cold feet not getting super excited like I have heard other people do when getting close.
I am not sure if it is normal cold feet or if I should really back out of surgery. I have lost 23 lbs in the last 3 months following the diet and exercise ( making lifestyle changes, which I know I would need to continue surgery or not to stay healthy.) The permanence of surgery is kinda freaking me out, the thought that I may never just be able to binge eat and watch Netflix or something ever again (I know not healthy! Or good) but the never ever ever everness is freaking me out.
I feel in general I have done well in the past 3 months making better choices and working out, not all the time but enough to lose good weight and be on track I would say, have had some pizza or frys sometimes but still getting Protein and not going over my calories from my NUT so I feel like I am getting used to the "lifestyle". I just think even if I did NOT get the surgery and just continued being healthier, I would never lose the 110- 120lbs that I still need to lose to be at my goal/ healthy weight. I feel like WLS will be that tool to give me that extra edge and ability to get there.
What do you guys think? I am a foodie, and I pray that my body doesn't become a picky eater or can't tolerate things because I love adventurous food and travel! Is the risk worth the reward, do you feel like your life is normal? I Am just sick of needing to think about weight for stupid things, Like when I went zip lining in Costa Rica, or I wanted to do free fall fly thing and I am afraid I will be like a rock and not get air, I am worried I won't be able to fit I a roller coaster, this is just not good and I can't go any further down this path.
Sorry for the ramble but would appreciate advice and experiences and others feelings.

Who said you were "supposed to hit 135 by April"? There is no way to map out where and when you will obtain an arbitrary weight within set amount of time.
The big thing about any WLS is that it enables people to lose something like 70% of their excess weight. Not total or gross weight. The last leg of the weight loss is going to be all up to the individual. Also, the timing will be different for each individual. I didn't hit my weight goal in the first year but my surgeon was still thrilled with my progress. I eventually hit it and surpassed it, but it was around 15 months.
There have been many men on here with similar stats to mine that hit goal weight or even "onederland" well before the first year. Sure I had a pang of envy, but there are far more that never even achieve my results. Don't focus on what you have not obtained, rather Celebrate what you have already accomplished.
So in short, just keep on doing what you are doing and focus on maintaining your habits you have spent the last 8 months establishing. This isn't a race to the finish line, it's a lifelong marathon.

I can't imagine how lousy that feels. I haven't had surgery yet but when I have lost control eating I know the best feeling is taking back control. Find that courage and kick that crap food to the curb. You went through too much to let the weight creep back on. Best wishes!

I had started my journey at 540 pounds. I was so overweight I needed oxygen all the time because I couldn't breathe properly.
When I had surgery in May of 2016 I was 480 pounds.
    Today (February 8, 2017) I am 319!!
I can't wait to reach the 200's and then the 100's!
    Here are some comparison pics!

My Insurance wouldn't cover Bariatric Surgery and Honestly knowing what I know now even if it did I still would choose to go have Dr. Illan with BariatricPal perform my Surgery. My Surgery was $4,900 but that was because I had a high BMI yours would be $4,399. I have never been treated that good in the States. The Great part was one bill no extras and a4 day Vacation.

    I sure hope so.
I am still scared, but I feel a little better knowing I don't need to get hernia repaired first and then go back for sleeve.
I was up at my weigh in, which was a bummer.

I suggest starting a new thread with this topic to reach the most participants. Although I asked a similar question about my insurance and got no responses. Maybe more folks have your insurance and can assist you? Worth a try.

I understand where you're coming from. I had so many delays leading up to my surgery that I almost gave up. BUT ,talking to my kids and grandkids, they all gave me the courage I needed to follow thru.
You have to remember tho its your choice, you have to believe in yourself and have faith that what you do is for your health and well being.
I had my surgery March 9 so I'm about 3 days the other side and i won't sugar coat it... it's still a battle every day, the pain ,trying to stay hydrated, being scared you're doing something wrong... but follow the instructions given, try ,try, try and every morning you wake up ,you're 1 more day beyond and 1 more day closer to your goal!!!
    Oh I am 57 with 6 kids, 17 grandkids age 23yrs to 2mo, 3 great grandkids age 4yrs to 9mo.

I'm worried about that too! I wonder if it's a common thing or a way to talk ourselves out of surgery? Anxious to see the replies.

Pay the $400 for an inspection. You don't want to miss something bc you wanted to skimp out on it. And, it will be leverage for your ultimate price in the end.

We are worth it. I too am tired of similar things. Sitting in a booth and hoping I'm not jammed in. Carefully choosing clothes to hide myself. Never wearing shorts. Being petrified of heart disease. It really goes on and on. We gotta do it.

I'm definitely less scared and more excited now. Talk to me the night before surgery tho [emoji50]
Let me know when your wife has it if you would. I'd love to hear about her journey.

I have been changing my mind a lot about the surgery but last night I read a thread on a Facebook group. The person asked if people were happy with their surgery. The responses (hundreds of them) were overwhelmingly YES. Even some who had complications said they'd do it again. That did it for me. I'm doing this and now that I've made the decision I can hardly wait! I know I'll be nervous but my decision is made and that in itself is a relief.

I'll be thinking of you. The clot in my leg resolved pretty fast. Usually if the pain is gone or at least better that's a sign it's dissolving on its own. Are you still on the blood thinners?
