One sure way to fail is not to try. I've no doubt you know this though! The surgery will help you succeed but make no mistake, it's up to you in the end. You will have to decide to make the changes and it's definitely not always easy.

There have been some interesting side effects post op.
I care much more about myself.
I've cut my hair to my shoulders (I'm sure I kept it long to "hide").
I've had my nails and toes done.
I've bought new clothes, perfume, jewelry.
I've gone to the dentist and had some cosmetic work done along with a good cleaning.
All of this keeps compounding and helping my self esteem.
I laugh and smile more. I move more. I'm friendlier.
I wasn't expecting any of these side effects!

Lol! For real! I was so frustrated and then I found myself deciding that I was agreeing with the things I liked VS the things I didn't (like, woohoo I don't have to exercise even though my surgeon said I should). I realized what I was doing and decided I need to do what my surgeon said. It's amazing how it varies from program to program.

I can't believe I never thought of using them for "breading". A whole new world just opened up! I've been using Parmesan cheese but it lacks the crunch I like. Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is a common side effect of intubation. Especially for us who are over weight. Its harder for the person with the laryngoscopy to be able to see our vocal cords due to us having short and very cubby neck lines. While we are very careful while manipulating the soft tissue of the throat its still not an easy process at times and soft tissue unfortunately can become damaged.
Time is the only cure. It hurts so bad because its on the top layer of skin where most of the nerves are!
As you can see in the image attached the blade has to go clear down into the vallecula. Which is right above where your vocal cords are! Lots of soft tissue that has never/rarely been touched by any metal!

I went to the Soma bra store today... was a 44DD pre surgery.... I knew I'd lost but heck yeah! I fit a 38 DDD --- the bras were so pretty! It's been awhile since I could find beautiful bras in a normal store!

    Here is an article:
    https://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/low-vitamin-k-foods-for-a-coumadin-warfarin-diet.php
Here's the thing. If you eat 16 cups of spinach every single day, they can give you enough coumadin to offset the vit. k content. And everything will be fine. The problem happens when you eat zero vit k each day, then suddenly have a salad.
Ok, so your nut wants you eating 900 calories, but how many are you actually eating? A big guy like you will still lose weight on 1100-1200, and that would be easier to stick to.
Here is my meal plan.. I eat the exact same thing each day (so it would work if I were on coumadin too). Before adding the spinach, talk to your doc that manages your coumadin. Explain that you want to add it, and promise to eat exactly the same amount each day. Or you can leave it off.
Breakfast: 4oz cottage cheese and 1 piece of fruit
Lunch: 2 eggs and 4oz Beans (black, pinto, etc), tablespoon of salsa
    Snack: 1oz nuts or seeds
Dinner: 4oz meat or fish and 4oz fresh or canned spinach
Beverages: 2 cups coconut Water and 1 cup milk (I mix milk into my tea and coffee)
This is 1200 calories if you use whole fat dairy and put a little oil on the spinach. If you avoid the fat, it's probably 900 calories.
I actually can't fit all of each meal in my sleeve, so I separate the food into more little meals. Doesn't matter.
Hate cottage cheese? Replace it with meat. Scared of sweet fruit? Replace with some avacado.
For the snack, an ounce of Peanut Butter on celery is great!
Last thing.. they do make blood thinners that don't care about your diet. You could discuss that option with your doc.

I had an endoscopy but it wasn't spotted. Maybe because it's only very little. But you're correct whilst they were operating they should have spotted it and fixed it. Irony is, the lady I shared a room with at the clinic had a hiatus hernia and he fixed hers. Only saving grace is it can be fixed :)

That's interesting because meloxicam is on my "do not take" list. I am so screwed because I'm also on xarelto (blood thinner) and the only pain medicine I can take is Tylenol or Tylenol combined with a narcotic. Aleve was my "go to" before.
