I think you need to make an appointment with your surgeon. It sounds like there are lots of questions you should have asked him before hand that you didn't.

I'm scheduled to have revision from band to sleeve on June 7th!

They offered me June 20th.
I told them to pencil me in. Now if my supervisor would get back to me on having the time off......geeeeez......how long does it really take to check the days off calendar and email me back!!!!??????!!!!

I just completed my pre op requirements today! Originally part of the insurance requirements was 10% weight loss, which I have worked hard to do over the last two months. Hit it on the head at the doctor"s office this morning. Then was told my insurance had changed it to 5%!! So now Ihave a cushion and can relax a little. My record is complete and will be submitted in the next few days. The wait for approval begins!
I am so giddy right now, just to have made it this far! Thank you for all your posts, and I hope to be scheduled in June!

Well, I had originally thought my surgery would be May 13th, but I have pushed it up to June 20th. I want to wait until school is out and I can focus on myself for the summer. That is something that I am dealing with,because I have never made myself a priority, Anyone else having a hard time with that? :-)

Wow. That baffles me. My surgeon hasn't done a band in over 2 years. He has seen better results with the sleeve. It almost sounds like your surgeon has an ulterior motive for pushing the band. Stand your ground girl.

I can't wait @@honeybadger! I'm so ready to be able to do the things I haven't been able to in yrs n yrs. I am ready to actually have a life not that I haven't but I haven't enjoyed it like I should of. I may get nervous when I get my date I don't think I will though I'm so ready!! :-) :-)

Hi friends! I've had my surgery date, June 9, since the first week of April. My surgeon's office is submitting my file for pre-authorization this week! I've met all the requirements and the nurse who contacts the insurance company says my insurance only requires a phone call to get approval! I would appreciate all your thoughts, prayers, positive vibes, etc. for a big fat approval!!

My first appointment was at the end of January. My last appointment was April 8. My insurance approval only took a few days. It was submitted April 26! It was supposed to be submitted April 11 but the office has a lazy person in charge of it. I waited a week and a half and then started bugging her to death. She finally sent it in to shut me up.
I guess I have enough co-morbidities to make them think surgery is cheaper than all the meds I take.
I hope they call to schedule soon. I'll give them another day, then I might start bugging them....lol

Well, my insurance said yes.
Now I'm waiting to hear from the hospital to schedule my pre-op appointment and my surgery date.
I'm excited and terrified all at once.

June 9th here! the nerves haven't hit me yet. I'm super excited and can't wait to start this new chapter of my life. I too have a preop diet, on May 26 I start a low carb, high Protein diet then 2 days before surgery I have an all clear liquid diet. I'll add a pic of my "surgery box". This is where Ive been dumping everything I'm buying for surgery. lol looking forward to sharing our journeys!

I got approved last week. My surgery date is June 7th too!

My surgery date is also June 7th and will be missing out on a few concerts that are happening the week after. It will be worth missing out on them though. ????

Me! My date is June 15, and I just found out 2 days ago. I'm so excited! I was really lucky that my insurance only required ONE appointment with a nutritionist. I still had to do all the other stuff, psych, endoscopy...

Just got off the phone with my surgical coordinator and my date is June 7th. My last weigh-in is May 3rd and I can hardly sleep with impatience. My insurance is pretty straight forward, 6 months and BMI of 40+ if no comorbidity. I've already done my sleep apnea, psych evaluation and upper endoscopy. PCP is more than on board, actually all of my assorted Dr's are. I hope the days fly past like a blink. Any June sleevers????????????????????
