Ugh annoyed
I was at the hospital doing my preop when my doctor's office called and asked if the could move my surgery from 2:30 to 12:30 because the patient before me cancelled at the last minute. Once the OR Is booked the surgeon tries make sure that they keep moving. You will be on that conveyor belt before you know it ???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Did you tell people you were considering weight loss surgery?
I am a very private person. I told my family and one or two very close friends. I had my surgery in January and to date no one in my office knows anything outside of that fact that I had some abdominal surgery. It's just a very personal thing for me and not a subject that I want to talk about. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Divorce after WLS
@@Lexigurl82 fellow Georgia peach. I went through a divorce after 34 years of marriage and way before my surgery. The pain for you right now is incredible I know but keep putting one foot in front of the other and in time you will soar beyond your wildest dreams believe me.

Boss
"Excuse you" would have been my response. She was really out of line from an employers stand point. Unfortunately I work in EEO law and all kinds of lights went off in my head.

Bariatric Surgery Lawsuit - Regarding issues with the surgical staples
My daughter is a surgical tech and actually had assisted my surgeon in prior surgeries, she says that the staples are used for every thing. This article ties them to bariatrics when in fact they are used for several internal surgeries.

What happens if you don't return to your doctor visits after post-op?
Man I'm so sorry to hear that. My surgical office has two dedicated nutritionist and they only deal with bariatric patients in the practice. I will see him throughout the next next year he's also available to me via email. Before I was discharged from the hospital he came to see me to make sure I understood what my diet would entail since it would be a week until I would see him again. I think all WLS programs should run this way. I never feel alone.

Scared
You will also receive a shot to relax you, talk to your anesthesiologist about your nervous right. As everyone stated they will take care of you.
