mlgok got a reaction from KristenLe in Plateau at half way mark
@@KristenLe Thank you girl! I am definitely super excited about my progress. I eat about 90g of Protein a day. Maybe 25-30g carbs a day. You're right about maybe needing to change things up. I drink atleast 100 oz of Water a day. So I definitely feel like I'm doing things right but just cant seem to get below 200. Lol. I usually eat the exact same things everyday for every meal so i might switch some things out.

mlgok got a reaction from KristenLe in 4 weeks out and hungry!
Maybe I'm having head hunger? Every program does things extremely differently I guess because my nutritionist told us in diet class not to drink any Protein Shakes because they will just go right through your pouch. I do have a PPI, but just haven't been taking it because I haven't had any problems with reflux. Maybe I should start it again.

I am four weeks post-op and feel the same. I am usually hungry about an hour to an hour and a half after I eat. It is so frustrating.

mlgok got a reaction from donnaqtpi314 in Seriously, how do you get all of your protein in?!
I am 16 days post op and feel awesome, I am past the liquid phase and actually able to eat food again. I am just curious how some of you get all of your Protein in without shakes (my NUT does not want me drinking shakes due to the fact that that are considered a "slider") every meal I eat is Protein, but I can only get severaly bites in before I am full, so I get maybe like 6g of protein in a meal?
    For example:
Breakfast- Could only manage 1/2 of an egg
Lunch- 1/3 canned chicken and 1/2 cheese stick
    Dinner-2 oz of salmon
Help! lol. I have unflavored Protein powder, but was told not to eat slider foods and cant really add Protein Powder to the dense Proteins?

I am only 6 weeks out today and my FAVORITE place to go is Yard House. I order the lettuce wraps. I have yet to eat the lettuce, but the filler has been perfect for me. It is chicken, tofu, pine nuts and delicious! Then I put a peanut sauce on it. It is all cut up in teeny tiny pieces and has been easy for me to eat during my mushies stage. I have been there a million times and I don't share it! lol The reason is, I take a few bites of it, get full and eat it for lunches the next 3 days. That way I have something to take to work. I don't know why, but it has just really hit the spot for me and is my favorite thing right now. Very high in Protein. The calories are high, but it includes parts I don't eat, like a couple of their other sauces and the shell that it is in. I skip all that! Try it!

I haven't had shrimp yet! I didn't know when would be a good time to start eating shellfish. But I'm always afraid I'm going to over eat because full feels so much different now than it used to. So I usually eat a couple ounces and just stop. @@LipstickLady

I have not had any emotional issues, but SERIOUSLY dont freak out if you step on the scale and there is minimal change from surgery. Today was my two week post op and I'm only down 7 pounds from surgery and was not too excited with the numbers. My doctor told me that is completely normal and the first couple of weeks are not to focus on weight loss, but to focus on your stomach healing. She said once I'm eating regular food I will lose the weight. She also said I will have a stall now that I'm starting soft solids.

After such a long process and jumping through all the hoops you have to jump through for WLS, I am finally here. I am freaking out, but am so excited.
I am 21 years old and have been struggling with my weight since I can remember. I am engaged and we have a wonderful 3 year old boy. I am tired of being this way and want my son to see me grow up healthy and happy.
Wish me luck I am so ready for this journey to a better life for my family and I.

@@charley27 it went fantastic. I was in so much pain when I was in recovery but once I was drinking, walking around and stuff I felt much better. I'm 2 days post op and am feeling really well. I haven't had any cravings or anything, however I am still on pain meds because I'm still pretty sore. I'm super happy with my decision though and would do it all over again if I had to choose ☺️

mlgok got a reaction from wanttoloseslowly in 1 Day Post Op
I just wanted to let the future sleevers out there know that I finally had my surgery after waiting forever and it went fantastic and I was just going to share some of my experiences with you that I've had since the surgery.
Going into surgery I was so nervous and was just beside myself with anxiety but that changed very quickly once I had the drugs to calm me down. The operation was very quick (about 30-45 minutes).
I won't lie to anyone (and I wish someone would have exaggerated this to me) I felt like I had been hit by a bus after surgery. I was in so much pain all the way up to my ribs because of the gas.
As the day went on the gas had gotten better and I feel much better. I've had some nausea all day but meds have kept it under control and I have yet to vomit or anything. It's taken me all day to get all of my liquids in, but I'm almost there.
But for anyone approaching your surgery soon, I just want to let you know, I have no regrets and I feel great for just being 1 day post op and can't wait to see all the changes

When I take my sips of Water every 5 minutes, after I swallow the water, I have a strange gurgling come back up my throat. It's not the water but just like air. Is this normal?
